Good song Tim, I just retired from 20 of the Army. It was full of good times and bad times. Good Leadership and terrible leadership that will throw you under the bus! This song made me think of my 4 deployments, 3 to Iraq and 1 to Afghanistan.
Was infantry for 12.
Was told on day 1 week 1. 'These will be the best and worst days of your life' they could not have been more true. Respect brother 👍🏻

This song is so true...i wanted to join the army after my first apprenticeship when i was 20 yrs old....but my dad served for 35years (retired now) and he told me: "I slap the shit out of you if you join this bunch of criminal mercenarys that kill for politics and economic interests! I spend the biggest part of my life for criminals and mammon...dont make the same mistake son!" and im so thankfull he told me this! i got nothing but respect for every soldier but youre fighting the wrong people....
In my country service of a army is mandatory, I guess you are from USA

Man, I was a fan of Discharger, but this is insulting. That's not what the military is all about. I'm American and serve in the military because I came from a working class family and had no money for school. I don't agree with the wars either, but I have to fight them. Hate the politicians, not the servicemen. I usually like your music, but I don't agree with this song Tim. We don't make the policies Tim, we're just doing a duty.
I'm sorry Pat no offense but to many people in uniforms are doing all kinds of terrible things with the excuse that they were just doing their jobs. I'd rather have no money then! You made a different choice, good for you but that has nothing to do with coming from a working class family. And the politicians would not have any power if the servicemen would refuse to fight! The service man are just collecting their money, at leased that's the way I see it and you just confirmed that by saying what you did.
Tim Steinfort I see your point Tim, but that same point can be made from the opposite standpoint. Many people in uniform are also brave, decent men who do great things. The military constantly sends troops on humanitarian missions to help others. It is true that there are plenty of assholes in the military, but you can find assholes everywhere. Please don't paint this image of all servicemen as cold-blooded killers. We're not all like that.
Pat Bateman I know they're not all assholes, and yes they are brave men I never said anything about that but they are also foolish. Do you really think that the politicians and the governments give a shit about the rights of humans in any poor country? Do you really think the army is doing something right for the people in poor countries? Nobody gives a fuck about rights man, especially the army. If they want defend the human rights than why aren't they fighting in North Korea or Somalia or any country in Africa, do you want to know why? Because there is nothing over there that we need, nothing for anybody to consume for the economical system. War is business nothing more nothing less, I'm not saying all servicemen are cold-blooded killers but you and I both know that an order is an order and that's not something to walk away from. Killing somebody could be an order maybe a woman or a little child, but it's ok you can do it you can always say that you were just doing your job. An army should be there to defend your country, but never to invade you simply cannot justify that.
Tim Steinfort Again, I respectfully disagree Tim. From what I've seen and my experiences in the military, which I'm assuming you haven't served in, I have seen the Armed forces slave away to help disaster relief efforts in other countries and offer protection to thousands of voters in Iraq when they were being threatened by Islamic radicals simply for the act of voting. I'm not disputing that the government has it's own corruptions, but keep it in reality. There are no generals giving orders to kill innocent women and children. On one deployment I went on, a Marine was sentenced to life in military prison for killing an unarmed woman. There is no tolerance for the killing of innocent civilians in the military. I also think it's contemptible to call me or anyone who has served "foolish". In America, the economy is in the shitter. Soldiers are all working class kids just like you. They want to better their life and support themselves or their family. The military offers great opportunities and a chance to see the world. I don't wake up and get ordered to murder people everyday.

Long time fan... lost a bit of respect for you. Very anti-war, but pro service.. you missed the mark.... still a fan, ya can't win them all. killing in war is not a fist fight, or murder. its directly in service to your family and country and the man at your side.
Pretty sure you missed the mark on the video. This song sounds like a satire of patriotism, which almost always acts as replacement (particularily in youth) for individuality within the army.
