    Hey man, excellent information you have just shared... I've had "rastas" going on 2yrs now and NOBODY had never warned me about (traction alopecia) yet again, honestly never ear of such thing(now I will be doing my own retwist for now on, because I've had only once a headache, and this was about a month ago)... so am glad you are a VERY straight forward and informed us new folks... thank you so much again and blessing to you and love ones. BTW best wishes to you and wife with the new angel OTW. 🙏

    My grandma would see me and be like baby does that hurt don’t retwist your hair so tight! She been a Hairstyle’s since the 40s😂 I should have listened to her, I’m paying for it now!

    Thank you for that information as a person who has traction aloepica. I found it better to use a metal pick to scratch your scalp verses your nails. The nails make it worse and you are absolutely right with the peppermint oil and tea tree oil. It has helped my hair grow at a good rate. Now I am able to get my locs.

      My hair is 2.5 or 3 inches long and I ended up twisting a small section of hair on the top left part of my hair off,should I just cut it off and start over or keep a protective style and try to get it up even again?

    Very informative video, sir! Hopefully, you'll save some locs journeys lol. Also, I can't wait to see if you're still doing maintenance when your locs get as long as mine (there's just no good way to say this w/o sounding like I'm bragging but you know i'm not). Anyway, keep pushing, it's paying off!

      I’m gonna for surrrrre go months without twisting lol I saw your last Retwist and how great it came out and it pretty much sealed the deal for me! There’s almost no need to retwist a bunch!

    All of the RELIGION OF LOCS, is akin to saying ;
    (1) not EVERYONE who smokes cigarettes will develop lung cancer or heart disease
    (2) not EVERYONE who has diabetes will have an amputation or develop kidney failure or go blind
    (3) not EVERYONE who uses heroin or meth will overdose
    (5) not EVERYONE who drives at 100 mph will have a deadly car crash
    So what the hell, if I lose ANY of my hair follicles, so what A HAIRSTYLE is WORTH THE RISK OF BALDNESS.
    None of these RISKS are REQUIRED to LIVE. Nor is a HAIRSTYLE REQUIRED to LIVE.

    What do you think about using those little black rubber bands for twisted starter locs?

  • @RaeeUfSunshineeNYC
    @RaeeUfSunshineeNYC Рік тому

    I think I have this. But it’s from a claw clamp. And man I’m so upset cause I did it myself within like 2/3 days. As soon as I realized I started keeping my hair out, and oiling it like crazy. The roots of some of my locs is skinnier than the rest. I know it was the claw clamp because my hair wasn’t like this before. But it’s okay! I caught it at a good time I think. I’ve been taking vitamins for a couple days and leaving my hair alone.

    My wife is losing hair on the edges of her hair and has a very intense routine that includes washing her her 2-3 times a month because she works out heavily. What advice would you give around washing hair constantly? How should she re twist it after washing it? Thanks!

    • @TPlocks
      @TPlocks  4 роки тому

      If she’s losing hair around the edges the first thing id check on his her use of bands or the styles she’s using? Does she frequently pull her hair back or is she constantly braiding her hair?

    • @DrMHutson
      @DrMHutson 4 роки тому

      @@TPlocks She pulls it back often and uses 3 tight bands to hold it in place. She's also big on re-twisting at least 1-2x a week and washing every other week. I think I'm answering my own question...LOL Is there a particular product you would recommend to help with regrowth in addition to the tips you talked about in the video?

      @@DrMHutson if youre twisting your hair 1x a week, youre basically asking for hair loss

    I went to this salon and I got my locs started by interlocking them and with a crochet needle.....4 weeks later one of my locs split and i went back and had to interlock and crochet them AGAIN and the ones in the back are SUPER THIN smh it's been 4 weeks and i finally washed my hair they look better but the thin ones are STILL very thin.......in 2 more months i plan on TWISTING IT and not interlocking it again.....but should i be worried? Should i wait even longer then 2 months? Also i have big parts.....i got 47.

    I got a question. My scalp was painful for like 4 days after I got them but the pain stopped after the 5th. Would that cause traction alopecia?

    Can I twist my hair everyday if it keeps unraveling? I’ve been doing this for the past 2 months now and my hair is looking like it’s breaking off. I’m 16 years old btw.
