    Made this few days ago, posted picture on pinterest. I did make half of the recipe. Added more sugar. Tasted it after few days and it was really nice.

    I will try this but I'll substitute vanilla extract with almond extract for that distinct flavor.

    Since thus recipe is without alcohol how long do they usually last and do you need to store them in the fridge? Thanks

    • @SkysBook

      I still have a jar from that batch. I had mine put in a tightly sealed jar and stored in the fridge.
      I tasted it and it's still good, not soggy nor spoiled. The sugar act as preservatives and helps the fruit hold its texture. Same way they do when canning fruits.
      To be honest, I prefer not to store it for too long. I do a batch if know I will be using it in the next 2 weeks.

    I made these with the pits still on, uncut, when the it's the next day with the water-salt mixture, they just look the same, is there a reason?

    Has anyone tried this? A lot of people use almond extract. Would you use that with vanilla or in place of?

      @ღSandyfang Gamer yeah, but I've watched other videos where they add almond extract instead. I was looking for the chefs opinion. Thanks though.

    Excellent recipe. Best video on UA-cam for this. Anyone know how to make cherries remain crunchy?

    • @Elric509
      @Elric509 4 роки тому +2

      Stone fruit usually retain their firmness if soaked in lime (calcium hydroxide) for a couple of days before cooking, something about calcium ions stabilizing pectin, it's usually done with plums to prevent them from being mushy but it'll also work with cherries and such

      @Milos Prnjic - Thanks, will try that next time

      @lh quenched lime isn't that caustic, you can safely handle it for a short while, at worst it'll make your skin red, just wash thoroughly and you'll be fine

      With vanilla extract, that stuff is strong and usually people use 1 tsp in recipes like cake, so thats a good start. And it looked like about half a lemon in there, idk.
