The eyes are so important here. They shift back and forth, never looking at the viewer as Elric subconsciously evades our judgement. He knows he's guilty even as he justifies his actions. And the one time he does look at us it's with defiance and a challenge, as though telling us that we could do no better were we in his place. I love how true his is to his actions, and conscious about it. No remorses. Except, the music cuts, and there's a low deafen tone as his vocal tonality also changes, it distorts, it loses, he is lost, but for a brief moment when he mentions his cousin, I have no read it so I do not know, but the portrail of this depicts that she truly was the only one who had his love, nothing nor noone else. A break in stability happened and I assume his downfall. I'll be honest, this video did made me very interesting in his character and in the books.

What wonder has UA-cam brought me. From the animation to the lines to the voice work. Wow.
more, plse! 😸
Absolutely Stellar. Not a lot of people talk about Elric or make fan stuff about him. Heck the only person I've talked to that knows about Elric is my high school teacher whos into fantasy novels. Anyway, this was a great fan animaton. Love to see more.
Voice acting is on point😉
“Arioch! Arioch! Blood and souls for my lord Arioch!”
ELRIC CONTENT IN MY FEED? HELLLL YEAH
I keep coming back to this, it's that good
Ahhh thanks so much! Hopefully the follow up shorts we're producing can live up to the hype
@@deliverypig Anticipated
Absolutely beautiful for just a single shot. Richard Williams-esque.
Michael Moorcock is in the great tradition of British fantasy sci fi authors and one of the very best. We’re very lucky to have him. I read probably around 30 of his books as a teenager, great man. Only criticism I would make, Hawkmoon and Count Brass made me go to the Camargue. Dear me, a muddy swamp full of mosquitos
A very great clip, artistically and in tonality
Cheers bud
The eyes are so important here. They shift back and forth, never looking at the viewer as Elric subconsciously evades our judgement. He knows he's guilty even as he justifies his actions. And the one time he does look at us it's with defiance and a challenge, as though telling us that we could do no better were we in his place. Then he immediately breaks away and tells us his greatest shame.
Good analysis 👍
Also being a soul drinker there's literally never any bringing someone back. Once storm bringer kills you you're dead forever
You gotta be fucking kidding me. I was just reading that particular tale, Kings in Darkness, a couple of days ago. I didn't mentioned that to anybody in any of my social media, nor personal chats, and now YT popped your work up. This is uncanny.
On the other hand, I really loved your work here. I love Elric and your depiction fits so well ♥
Cheers! Goran Gligoviç designed him, you should check his stuff out!
Thank you, I shall!
This is the world and this is the character that brings about the 40k universe.
I read the books long ago, This reminds me of how delightful they were.
I'm going to have to find some old copies and re-read them.
Gratitude to the one(s) who made this.
Love this! Not enough Elric stuff getting made. The Elric saga is so underexposed given how hugely important it is. Keeping fighting the good fight, and god speed. Please excuse me while I re-read the Pacific Comics/First Comics run .
I would also like to shill the band Eternal Champion, which obviously has several Elric songs among other fantasy.
@@dakotaadams189 no shill required, I'm already a huge fan. Counter-shill: Cirith Ungol
@@VengefulNonsense Don’t forget Diamond Head and Tygers of Pan Tang!
Popular to me. My second favorite writer and his main character next to Robert e Howard and Conan.
This is wonderful.
This is exactly how I imagined Elric's voice. If an animated series or video game is made about Elric, this actor should reprise the role.
Many people don't even know of Elric and yet he is the inspiration for The Witcher as well as the Targaryans in A Song of Ice and fire (Game of Thrones)
I am so glad all of the Elric books are free on Audible
God, this is so good, the artstyle and the whole vibe is perfect. It makes me HUNGRY for an animated series, or a movie. Elric deserves it.
Thanks so Much! Goran Gligoviç is the artist who designed this iteration of Elric and I'd seek him out, his stuff is evocative as hell. That being said, I'm planning to make more Elric shorts, in my own style and some a bit ambitious so you can look forward to that
Elric should be animated in with this style, if there every will be a movie, tv series or anything else
just got into the series in the past two months, fell in love with them. Great animation love how you made Elric look.
Finally man I’ve been waiting for this
I NEEEEEDDD IIIITTTTTTT! - SpongeBob said calmly.
Also this is a perfect voice for Elric
I know next time you'll introduce us to stormbringer ...
Farewell, friend. I was a thousand times more evil than thou.
Brilliant stuff! it feels fit to the source material and very compelling in style. I would certainly watch.
Michael Moorcock wrote these fantastic books if anyone is interested to actually read them. you wont be dissappointed and also the British psychedelic band Hawkwind have quite a few songs about Elric of Melnibone.
I would commit unspeakable things worthy of Pan Tang's wickedest sorcerer-priests for a faithful cartoon adaptation of the Elric saga. UNSPEAKABLE THINGS.
“Farewell, friend. I was a thousand times more evil than thou!”
I strongly recommend them. Elric is the original that the Witcher and so many others were inspired by.
So my Dad read Elric of Melnibone and really enjoyed it, but I never got around to it. I mostly read about him in classic D&D manuals. It's really interesting seeing him come back into the public consciousness like this, though.
Ah... this is the dude with the sword that must be fed souls. Sounds ideal for a movie.
Why did this feel like the finale to an 8th season of a series we never got to witness?
Like fuck, this was a good villain and I just met him.
Oh, please. This series has far little limelight love.
This video finally pushed me to finally start reading Elric.
AWESOME WORK!! I really hope I get to see a feature length version from you. Moorcock is my favorite author (since my teens), and I REALLY want to see Eric done, the right way. Your work leans heavily in that direction.
