The sound quality is so good, and the color choices are so simple and unique and memorable. I would 100% read this as a novel or comic book holy shit, I want ALL the details
Wow 2:32 is stunning. I think the prince was forced to pass judgement ( and execution ) and with time it made him bitter. He blames his father for that and come back to kill him ( or what's left of the kingdom after the war )
Based on the story provided in the description, the way I interpreted this was that the scene in the throne room was the day of the Prince's coronation--and the black figure handing him the sword, perhaps an heirloom handed down to the succeeding Kings is his father, the former King. It's seen that the color purple represents him and his family (the blood spilling from the necks of the advisors around the throne, and his lavender garments). The cobra at the end is also purple, and the calvary led was also purple. This makes me guess that perhaps once the Prince was crowned, a time of war struck--or he led a war, perhaps to conquer but inevitably failed and killed his people in the process. Even though the Prince is seen to be slashing off the heads of his people in the action montage--I like to think that this does not literally meant that he killed him, but felt he did and ultimately was weighed by the guilt of it being his responsibility. Eventually the kingdom was destroyed and brought down by the enemy (the black tree crushing the purple and consuming the screen). When the Prince returns, he's slashing through the branches and pierces the tree that begins to ooze purple sap--but metaphorically to him, probably felt like the blood of his people, as he was remembering the past. The sword drowning in the flood shows how that identity, who he was before--the prince and next heir--has died. Maybe it's called judgement because of his guilt?
The role of the king is that of a judge. It was believed that kings had *divine right* to rule and therefore *divine authority* to pass judgements and call for execution. Purple is the colour of royalty, that’s why the Prince is in glowing pure lilac in his Youth. And he is eager to take on the sword which grants power in his youth without recognising the burden of the decisions that will lie on his head as a result. By his father’s decree, he judges, exiles, executes, leads men in wars in the name of justice and righteousness. He becomes the hand of death in the futile attempt to rid the kingdom of the creeping vines of rotting corruption. But the root of the corruption was his king all along. The more he kills, the more the evil flourished. During his early years, the throne is backed by the spire of a tree, but when the son returns the throne room is overgrown and corrupted. So the son returns to end it once and for all. End his father, and all the bloodshed that originated from him. That’s why when he plunges the sword into his king, it isn’t a trickle, but a river of blood that flows out. I also love how his clothes are no longer bright and ethereally purple. They’re a long black cloak.
THIS IS SO BEAUTIFULL I LOVE IT aaaaaa the purple blood is just muah so what i think happened is the prince ruined his own kingdom with war and violence also about the tree i think it grew and consumed the bodies of the dead while i think containing all their blood
Literally how, I was already so invested not even 3 seconds into it the character designs are just beautiful the story is heartbreaking and so well displayed, and the music! I love all of it, well done.
At 2:13 you can see his fathers silhouette behind the murderd man, I see it as the son being forced by the king to kill his enemies and pass judgment( even the fathers eyes after he hands the sword look evil) so as he does what his father asked, the kingdom came to perish. In the end he is confronted with his past and all the blood he spilled and sets it free by “killing” his master as the kingdom gets personified in the statue that gives him the sword to judge.
Woooooooooow.... exceptional short... great use of simple and powerful compositions and I have to say that the audio design *really* helped hammer it home. Well done. I was in this all the way through.
It sort of took me back to Carmilla's epic fight in Castlevania. The sword, the movements, the gown, the blood. Divine. Where can we listen to the soundtrack?
very beautifully done both the animation and the music are powerfull. Althought, I'm afraid that I did not understand the story, could some explain it to me? Is it about power? thank you.
I think it's interesting to note that initially I saw the blood as blue and not purple, but once I read the comments and then saw the video again, I saw purple and could no longer see the blue I once thought I did....
So that's how purple paint used to be made. Good thing we now have better technology and no longer need to rely on such brutal methods.
Mmm idk man, maybe we should bring back the tradition🥰🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤❤
Lol I thought they used purple for the color of blood as a way to get past the mods
@@millersam07In fact that's right, the commenter is joking
The Romans used snails for their purple. A couple of places found beetles or some such.
But purple is pretty rare
This is an annoying waste... Too many lines to read between.. I Animators lost wet dream.. what the hell !!
THE TRANSITIONS???? this is so beautiful

Very good!
You are very observant and your creative thinking is powerful
The prince is not a warrior princess?
Why do you say Prince? I see a woman 🧐
@@SunburnAndDragon Oh!! The animator said so in the description of the video 😅
Absolutely stunning animation, storytelling, and sound design. Loved every second of it.
