The pack wasnt put on right so it fell and he said he had to stuff it into his front pocket and by the time he did it the song was basically over. That interview is definitely worth a watch! I've never seen Em fanboy harder than when he was sitting across from Tyson

The standing O and seeing everyone clapping for him makes me tear up. The fact the performance was not 100% and I do think he was pissed... how many years later he comes to do the performance for the song he won an Oscar for just to have issues with it... he still killed it once you know what the hell was going on but just having the whole room respect him and show him they do... where I'm sure he's always felt and thought he was out of place.... beautiful thing to see.

As a guitarist and bassist watching that it was his in-ear pack that came out of his pocket I've had is happen at gigs when I was doing gigs before I decided to do the bedroom musician thing in-ears are annoying but hard to do shows without them the packs are usually clipped onto belts but alot of people prefer to put them in a pocket the other thing I had with in-ears is when you in the middle of a song and one of them pops out of your ear and you can't put it back in if your playing an instrument till the songs done and it throws everything off I know people that do sound for local shows and stuff and I've learned alot from sound people and whoever the Oscars hide for their sound guy was either having issues with the soundboard which happens way more than people realise or they just weren't experienced enough to work a big show like that yet Marshall said in the kamikaze interview when his in Detroit he's out on his own in public way more then people realise but nobody notices because they don't have heavy paparazzi and stuff that Hollywood and other huge cities have But when he goes to other cities he has to have security and other people around him because of who he is
You see, what I really don't get is when people go on about how they "can't relate" to him or his music, I mean some of it I get but then you have this, or Not Afraid etc and they can't relate?! I'm a white English dude, I grew up listening to Pac, Snoop, Dre, Naughty By Nature, Warren G.... Could I relate to anything they rapped about?! To be fair Harry’s rhymes aren’t being punched in or delivered with such animosity/ emotion in every line. He sets those up and can take breaths when he feels like it while freestyling. Way different than song writing.
