An oldie and a goodie! That belt hanging sewing kit is a very good idea and could easily be expanded to include many other items, first aid, fire starting, tinder collection, a small flashlight, etc, etc. In some cases a slightly larger hanging case for the belt or a much larger one for the rucksack or backpack, the possibilities are endless. Many years ago, durning my time with the Boy Scouts, we used the cardboard tubes from all kinds of paper rolls(toilet paper, paper towels and such) to store all kinds of loose objects. Many people replace the needle and thread with a roll of duc tape(aka riggers tape, 100 mph tape, engineering tape) but I still carry a small sewing kit along with the duc tape. I like the idea of a handcrafted item to add some style to an EDC. The world needs more videos like yours, thanks for sharing.

Your videos are so peaceful and calming, thank you so much, my edc in town is a pocket knife, it’s always on me, just like a comfort feeling , when I’m out in the woods it’s always a straight blade about 4 inches, thank you again and may the Good Lord bless you
What a beautiful sewing kit! Also makes an interesting reminder of the severity of the weather in their homeland.. I'm guessing it's part of their edc because at certain times of the year a bad enough tear in their clothing could literally mean death by exposure. Thanks for the thought proving content, I'm enjoying your channel
I appreciate that you talked about different perspectives and needs in the context of discussing EDC. I'm American, and I now live in the southern part of the country... This is where guns are pretty popular and where open carry is legal...but it's really localised. Bushcraft in the US is also popular with preppers and survivalists and there's a lot of blending. Thanks for showing the Sami sewing kit, it's beautiful...and the beauty of Denmark in Autumn 🍂
Thank you so much Caitlin for your positive response to my EDC video 👍🏻😁. I’m glad you like my video and for sharing your info with us. Hope you’ll have a wonderful Sunday 🏕
A very good summary of EDC options......... now that I think about it, I believe the seasons influence my EDC kit. Although I am also a gear geek so it is a fun element as well to constantly modify and improve. I just added a Knipex 125 mm long adjustable grip pliers that acts as a mini-vice to my kit which I can recommend to you. Thank you for the nice videos.
When I first started seeing EDC, I looked at what I already carried! Being a woman, I always have a handbag, and as I am sure your wife can tell you, once I had my son, the bag got bigger! 😆 I still carry bandaids (plasters) from that time, for little injuries. I have a gun permit, but not yet a gun, as the world has become scary (and I am an American). I have a flashlight, keys, a whistle for my dog. So I carry a lot, generally. But I would leave this at home if I were to go in the woods. So, very good point that EDC changes with your purpose.

With me living in the United States it would be impossible to survive without some sort of protection while out in the wild. I know that in some countries like Canada, Australia, and even in Europe guns are not allowed except for shotguns to have in your home, or on your person, unless you have a special permit. That is a nice little tool you have to put your sewing needle, and thread in and it look like you could put another small item in there.

Thanks and you're welcome. :) The pocketknife with the pointy blade for skinning and gutting animals plus the "clip" blade for leather, wood, and farm tasks like hoof cleaning and castration of livestock is a non-locking blade and quite small and stout, so even most European countries wouldn't have an issue with it in your pocket and out of sight. Got a very nice pipe collection at home, with a strong preference for "Longbottom" out of the "Middle Earth" collection which is a blend of Latakia and Cavendish that is named for the variety of "pipe leaf" favored by the humans in "Lord of the Rings", as theirs is stated to be "Turkish" in addendum notes. Tons of smoke shops carry versions of it, the "official" version being made by these guys in St. Louis and sold mostly in Missouri, Kansas, and parts of Illinois and Tennessee. As for the Second Amendment, very firm believer who owns a rifle and takes good care of it, while also being sensible enough to have gone out and got a gun license and thinking that people that belong in asylums shouldn't be allowed within a good hundred feet of any weapon and be a danger to themselves and others. Kids should be taught if raised in a home with guns to respect weapons and how to be careful and safe, with proper safety precautions taken to ensure no accidents happen prior to the time they're mature enough to handle a weapon. Especially don't drink and shoot. Also, a splash of Kahlua in some black coffee with just a spoon or two of brown sugar and a Punch cigar ("Ahnald"'s brand of choice, lol) is very nice.

Great alongside a lighter and my wallet. Hi OliBode … are you from Denmark? … is your comment based on the danish knife law ?
Cimbrer Bushcraft yes sir i am.. og jeg har læst loven i gennem op til flere, gange da jeg selv laver og sælger knive er det meget vigtigt for mig at forstå loven ud og ind:)
Hej OliBode … tak for dit svar.
Where can I get a pack like yours ,and the leather ?
If you mean my backpack? It’s the Front River Isle Royal Bushcraft Jr. … can be bought many places 😉 and the leather … I buy it locally here in Denmark 🇩🇰 … but I know you can buy it on Amazon and eBay Thanks for your feedback and question 👍🏻
Atb to you my friend 🔥🌲🌤

What if you're a 'homeless policeman' .... & what would their edc consist of?
… 🤔 don’t know … do you have a suggestion? Atb 2u
After some considerable contemplation upon the question ...... i cannot come up with anything either constructive or mildly amusing. Hopefully, one of your subscribers may be, or have been a 'homeless policeman' (or woman), and will be able to enlighten us.
Yes perhaps ☺️
