  • This is my custom built nitro 8x8 Amphibian.. The truck is not complete yet but is close to being done.. There is still a crane that goes on the back of it on the plate that will be completely operable.. Should be on there tonight and have a video up tomorrow hopefully.. And also will try to have the bottom sealed and filled with foam in between the chassie plates to try to make it float and go across water but that part is still a work in process

I have to agree with you there! We have a six wheel'd one of these at the LHS. EVERYTHING on the truck is alumimum, and its been sitting there for 7 years with a $2,000 price tag. I don't know why people are thumbs downing you, because your correct!

Great custom rc effort. It is fantastic to see people enjoying this hobby and making something unique. I really can't believe there are people out there knocking this effort.

It sounds awesome, but I think some shots of it at work would have helped some of the viewers make more.....appropriate comments.
personally, I think it's amazing. 8x8s are hard to find, hard to make, and fun to drive over rough terrain.

If you added 4 way ball pivots in between each 2 wheel segment you may really have something here. It could be a cool unique crawler then. That and more ground clearance. I appriciate how much work went into this, it is not simply 2 cars tied together as someone said. Nice work, original Design could use inprovements thats all.

I hate when people walk up and bug while I'm driving my r/c cars and trucks. wait till I'm done, then ask away. I like how he uses one engine to control one side and the other engine to control the other side. Imho, this thing is bad ass

it actully drives preety nice on the street it hooks really good as long as you have it facing stright.. I took it off road in a ditch it had probly 3-4 inches of water at the bottom it drove down in the ditch fine and through the water but coming up i hit the gas pretty hard to try to climb up cause of the mud on the tires and i blow out one of the spur gears and clutch bells..
Went to extra hard robinson racing clutch bell and spur and it worked good after that..

i hope both of those motors are hooked up to just one drive shaft. all it looks like you did is took two cars and made it one with a huge gas tank. and hopefully you have still only one reciver and not two with the same frequency on them and the car needs MORE POWER for speed. just keep 2 t-maxx's it would be better

@SpeedOfDark186Kmps by how it looks is one engine powers the right side and the other engine powers the left side. looks like hes using a 2 stick transmitter. one stick for one engine. another stick for another engine. he pushes both engines (sticks) for forward. then if he wants to turn, he pushes one stick, thus one sides wheels will move, but the others will not.

  • @joshstew85

i would think (and i have little to no experience in this area) but i would think it would be more practical to have a front and a rear engine, rather than a right and a left. seems like it would be more balanced that way. now the how-to part is WAY beyond me. but i see what you're saying and i thought the same thing, too.

  • @djfelony23

yea it sounds like it is out of tune or it has bad compression.. It sounds more like bad compression because after it gets hot it shuts off and dont want to restart till after it cools off witch is a main sign of bad compression.. Then you would have to get a piston and sleave or i would do the traxxas exstange programe for 130 and get a new 3.3...

I'm curious as to how its set up. Is it one engine per side and you control turning with 2 different throttles, or is everything hooked together and steers like a bulldozer? Also is it hard to control?

  • @naturalyshocked
    @naturalyshocked 14 років тому

eh, the nitro engine used here is a 2 cycle / stroke engine, but has no ingnition system for spark plugs and timing.
instand of spark plug, there is a glow pug.
you can convert these to ordinairy 2 stroke gas engine, but you need a modified cyl head, a hall sensor on the crank for the spark timing and a coil.
but you're right gas for 2 stroke engine is cheaper and you can mix it yourself easy
