Another great track Kyle!! Keep 'em coming. This one reminds me a lot of the group Happy The Man, if you know them. Comparable to their best stuff. I like how you incorporated every classic key sound into the tune without having it sound cluttered. And I LOVED the electric guitar sound you got from the synth. Nice!!

Thanks friend Rick!! Yo. I really busted hump on this one and especially creating the video. I’m not a video pro so it takes me a while to get anything done that looks half way decent. The lead guitar patch was played on my Yamaha MOFX8. I’ve used it before and it sounds more convincing (in a mix) than any other ‘guitar’ sounds in my arsenal. HTM are in my top 10 bands of all times. Some of the best fusion ever in my opinion! Kit Watkins Moog solos were something to behold!

There is a real art to that pitch bend and mod wheel work. Gotta hear it in your head first. Great job!

Our good friend Jay showed me exercises on using the P bender way back then. It was a very hard exercise to do then, and eventually it made sense.

I am jazzed by this one, cool transition from acoustic to electric piano in the jazz influenced first minute. But at 1:30 we are fused into jazz/rock and energy steps up with the lead introduction. Could I ask how you do your drum rhythm section? Your keyboard skills are advanced but I also hear the guitar at the end. I feel the YES influence in the beginning (Wakeman like) but toward the middle more Moratz and Squire. Could I have another sir?

Thank you kindly Sam!! On most of my original stuff I use midi to create the drum parts by hand. Takes a while! I for one get real tired of using loops. Too repetitive and what most other composers do now days. I use Addictive drums VST for 99% of the drum parts. I do selective quantization on some parts for rhythmic evenness... I have been using Cakewalk Sonar daw since 2000. It's now called Bandlab and is free for the time being.😂

@@KyleWhitlock-Music Thanks, will check out Addicted drums. I have Damage 2 but find it a bit bombastic for regular rhythm tracks. So I end up using Korg's drum tracks or Montage drum arps. But they do sound repetitive. Your programming skill is advanced. I have Ableton but never got good at it, my next door neighbor, a real musician like you, uses the new Cakewalk and loves it. I used the original back in the 90's but thinking of going there or logic. Some friends asking me to multitrack again instead of my rough improvisations. Play on!

      @@Sam_Utah Sam,
I like the way you are playing live. That’s real cool!
If I played everything live I’d never get the levels
right. I guess that’s the beauty in playing live with
Pre recorded tracks. Mix post video session. That’s
My personal MO. Have you ever seen any of the
UA-cam videos of Vangelis performing live?
He had the science of doing that down better than
      anyone I know!
Look forward to hearing your next offering!
      Kyle

@@KyleWhitlock-Music As you know composing, playing engineering and recording by oneself is nearly impossible. I never get the mix I was hoping for but it feels great to get a "keeper" and publish on line. New age noodling is a lot easier than what you do. Since I cannot read a note of real music, I make it all up as I go along...that has limitations. Not stalking you, just a fan ({-:)

@@Sam_Utah absolutely! At the end of the day it’s all Work, whichever method you use. The thing is if you put your heart and soul into it- it will show. That’s what really counts IMHO. I read that Vangelis never learned to read music. From mind to tape! So keep working on your method and perfect it. Over time. And listen to the “greats” along the way

@@KyleWhitlock-Music Interesting. I have a new perspective on computer music leading some to make their own music by their own hand.
