You did a great job with teaching me how to change my brakes. I like the part where you didn't belittle me and didn't make me feel like a worthless bum while expressing your superiority before showing me how to do this in 4 mins.
Nice video. I am not much of a mechanic but this looks simple enough. I need to change my brakes and your video taught me how to do it. Thanks and btw I subscribed.
On my daddy this a nice video! I’m going to get a higher end aftermarket pad and rotor. I have read and seen on my own Rav4 these oem Toyota parts seem to wear prematurely. One down side to this generation Rav4
In my experience the harder brake material tends to make brake noise when the brake dust builds up. My 2015 Rav4 has 70K miles on rear pads with OEM and are quiet.
Yes, before you start the car pump the brake pedal 5 - 7 times until it gets hard. Then you can start the car and test drive it. Check brake fluid level as well.
If you take just the bottom bolt out you don’t have to do anything to the top bolt. You just lift. You could even pull the caliper out with the top bolt still in.

That’s great to hear and thank you for watching
Dawg what 💀💀💀
Dont have to bleed brakes?
Hey thanks for making this! This was the clearest video I could find on a simple rear brake pad change on this generation.
Thank you and glad you found this video useful!
Thank you for making a simple and easy video to replace my brakes.
Not a problem ✌️

Awesome and glad this video helped you. Thank you for subscribing!
Thanks for the video!
Do you know how the hand break works on the rav4?
Does it just break with the rare break pads?
Excellent video!
Thank you!
Hi, thanks for the video, have you ever taken the rear brake hub off to replace the other pads for the handbrake?
Hi, are you talking about the shoes?
you should have put the shims on ur new brake pads.
Great video. I was curious to know why were the rotors not replaced or resurfaced? They look a bit scratched.
Thank you, customer only wanted the pads replaced but I ended up replacing rotors as well.
How many miles car had when you record this?
What about the brake shims? I think you forgot it, and maybe you have some brake noise. That's a realy quite important step on this job!
Hi there, question; front brakes are the same process?
Hi, yes it’s the same process but the caliper is bigger.
On my daddy this a nice video!

You didn't need to remove both caliper bolts just the top and caliper will fold back
After you compress the piston and install the new pads do you have to do anything else?
Yes, before you start the car pump the brake pedal 5 - 7 times until it gets hard. Then you can start the car and test drive it. Check brake fluid level as well.
Thank you so much!!!
Just did the wife's rav4, no need to take the caliper off just remove the top bolt and swing the caliper down
You wont be able to test the rebound on those bolts though. Its good to check them everytime you replace the brakes so that it wont have uneven wear
I might sound dumb...but do the front wheels have brake pads as well???? Kind of embarrassing to ask..
It’s not at all, yes front wheels have brake pads as well.
If you take the bottom bolt out and loosen the top one,you don't have to take the caliper off completely.
If you take just the bottom bolt out you don’t have to do anything to the top bolt. You just lift. You could even pull the caliper out with the top bolt still in.
You forgot to put back the pins on the break pads...😮
What brand did you use?
Customer purchased the pads from Toyota. But you can buy the pads from Autozone or Advance auto. They work just fine.
You forgot to put the squealers back on as well as the shims
You will have noisy brakes.if you dont use the brake shims
You forgot the brake shims
Careful. Do not return the brake fluid, it is dirty and can damage the ABS system.
What do you mean don't return the break fluid?
Противоскрипные пластины не установил, индикатор износа не установил
By the love of God! Have the rotors turned!!!!! New pads with worn rotors defeats the purpose.
Rotors were fine. This is what the customer requested.
Why did Toyota come up with wear indicators? That's right, so that the Americans throw them in the trash. 😀
why can't you just swing the brake caliper out of the way by just removing the upper caliper bolt and loosening the lower one?
🤮🤡
