As beautiful as those shots of Florence are, I must say I loved your photography of the rough December ocean in Positano even more. Nature - alive in all its glory. Watching the town light up in the evening was a perfect closing for this video.

Celine's house looks like it's set in an enchanted forest too - so fairy-tale-like, like something from a Hans Christian Andersen/Brothers Grimm story. Great way to begin and end the day with a walk, a little passeggiata and by 1000 steps...LOL! Rome is the politcal and religious center of Italy, while Firenze is the cultural. It's always a good thing to end your trip there. Firenze never ceases to amaze me no matter the time of year. Besides you can walk almost everywhere. Niki your warning is well taken when Mother Nature is doing her thing. I liked your ending, especially with the Christmas lights in the shops and restaurants along the shore. Florence's beautiful. Love the Christmas Market. What weather to come home to! And even with an umbrella as hard as it was raining there's probably no way to get home dry. I love to see when it looks like that but only from a distance. You may have upset that person but you also may very well have saved her life. People just don't understand the power of water. Sometimes we have flash floods here that wash cars right off the road. Be well, stay safe, love from Texas.

I've been to Florence a few years ago in the summer, and I just run away after 2 hours. It was swamped with tourists in a way that didn't really allow me to enjoy the city. I'll be back some day, off season for sure!
I loved seeing all those gloves in the window. My mom was always good about bringing me back good leather gloves with cashmere lining. Great colors too

Love Florence, thanks for taking us there. Apologies if your viewers/readers know this but on the Ponte Vecchio above the shops there are some small round windows, I could see them on your video. It is The Vasari Corridor, an elevated enclosed passageway connecting Palazzo Vecchio with the Palazzo Pitti on the other side of the river. It was built in 1564. I haven't walked it but my daughter has. It is closed at present but due to reopen next year I believe. Those waves were serious, good that you reminded some foolish person not to be down there taking selfies.
Each and every location that you visit is beautiful in their own unique way - but no where captures your heart like your home. And yes, even here in Hawaii, surrounded by ocean - no matter the number of signs in various languages communicating the dangers of big waves or high surf - someone has to “test” their limit of stupidity by going in. The world and human beings will never cease to amaze! Stay well and safe travels 🌺

I first went to Florence in the early 1960's. My wife went in the early 1970's. Visited a coupe of times in the mid 1990's and early 2000. Went back a couple of years ago and boy were we shocked at how Florence had changed. I probably won't go back next time I am in Italy.

Love Florence, thanks for taking us there. Apologies if your viewers/readers know this but on the Ponte Vecchio above the shops there are some small round windows, I could see them on your video. It is The Vasari Corridor, an elevated enclosed passageway connecting Palazzo Vecchio with the Palazzo Pitti on the other side of the river. It was built in 1564. I haven't walked it but my daughter has. It is closed at present but due to reopen next year I believe.
Those waves were serious, good that you reminded some foolish person not to be down there taking selfies.

You know Florence has really lost it charm...I think you take us to so many charming smaller towns that the difference was really apparent...of course Florence has so much art and history but oh those crowds even in winter. I first went to Florence in the early 1960's. My wife went in the early 1970's. Visited a coupe of times in the mid 1990's and early 2000. Went back a couple of years ago and boy were we shocked at how Florence had changed. I probably won't go back next time I am in Italy.
@@MrOso36 my history with Florence is about the same and same reaction...won't be going back. Now Venice even with the crowds still love that place!
