Honestly this whole FH29 vs FH34 debate... the real fail was going for Hwang in 25 which set into motion a series of events which forced FH29 for a lot people.
Hwang and Senesi forced me to wildcard in 28 which lead to FH34 which lead to punts on Mateta Eze(C) Kai and Brereton Diaz
@@shafqat5860yo good point never thought of it that way. For what it’s worth I think both FH29 and FH34 were good shouts before the event (I did FH34) but I thought the Hwang move was the real group think clanger of this season - I thought it before the outcome and didn’t go for him.

It was an excellent game week where I scored over 150 pts with Odegaard captain, plus I had no Liverpool or Wolves players at all with my free hit chip

Freak free hit joy for me. Was originally planning FH29 but realised I could still gt 9 players so took the risk and ended up about 10 points less than my FH team would have been. Then captained Salah this week on FH and still smashed 149 points with some good/lucky picks coming in trumps! Insane swing that moved me from 150k to 40k rank. Happy days! 🎉

No, you don't need DGW players. I said weeks ago it's an overrated move to go all in on DGW players IF it negatively impacts your team leading up to it. Double Arsenal defence (which was smart to have regardless of the DGW), Everton defence and Mateta were the only DGW players to return highly.
I've followed your statergy, Got 129 from a non free hit team. White, Foden, & mateta gave me the push. 61k overall, thank you Andy for the suggestions! ❤
I did the same FH as Andy, got 130p this week. Swings and roundabouts
I got 125 on free hit 34. And even I know it was extremely lucky. Before the week, I did think both strategies had equal weight, and I was worried there would be little difference from non FHs and FHs. Yet, it caused a massive points swing. Sometimes it’s one decision and you don’t realise, I wouldn’t beat yourself up about it Andy.
I had 92 points and got a red arrow. The guy in my money group that was just behind me got 156 points to zoom past me.
A lot of gw29 free-hitters were going into gw34 with 9+ doublers so it really was just a case of who you went for this week. I have 2 teams - the non-FH team scored 137 pts! The FH team scored 110. So it really was just down to luck on the player choices.
I went with the earlier free hit. Ended up with a decent score at the time think it was 20ish over the average. Worked out okay for me this week too as I got 107 points so for my team it was definitely the correct strategy. Not the same for all.
I was FH34 but i never expected it to work as well as it did! Apart from liverpool, everyone else smashed it including players i never expected like pickford

This season has been more fun in that the chip strategy wasn't just obvious. Last season I thought it was really obvious with the way it fell for Brighton and their form. The biggest swing I can remember was deciding between Isak and Wilson (I guessed right so felt good).
As you say Andy your strategy was not a bad one - I was on the same one and got 135 points this week and back in the top 500; don't beat yourself up and keep up the great work. I'm also tempted to get KdB and with no news on Haaland I'm tempted to ditch him.
Here is an idea, 2nd Spurs attacker, Werner in over Haaland this week.
I've very tempted by this as a differential for a one week punt.

My wildcard is so similar to yours the plan is take one arsenal defender for a spurs defender in 37 once we know who is first choice at left back. I have petrovic instead of vicario which enables this.
Had 121 points this GW, but was on FH29 strategy. The swings were just crazy.
I didn't free hit, as I used it earlier and ended up with 104 points. I banked on Branthwaite and Pickford which turned out massive, but I also had 3 Liverpool players. It's just one of those doubles where you have to look at your thoughts on how you got to the decisions you took really. Sometimes your hands are tied with what chips you have available or injuries and the like and sometimes the reasoning is correct, but the choice ends up being the wrong one. It happens and it's why we love FPL!

I’m the exact same Andy, was 27k a couple of game weeks ago and now I’m 73k… really hope the next few weeks work out well for us
Posting this every week because it seems to get even worse. Spent 5 or 6 GW's around the top 5k, then took a -8 to get in Salah when Foden got his hatty. Red arrow after red arrow. Had a 100 pointer last week, and still dropped down to 17k
Salah blanking was shocking. And then Foden with the final nail in the coffin 😅

Isn’t variance why free hitting on a double gameweek is usually preferred? More variance when there are more than double the games than a blank gameweek so more a of a chance for big points
I got the ave score in 29 , got 131 not hits 34 and still have my fh and bb , not sure why people keep thinking that only fh people did well in 34.

Worked out my fh team would have actually got me less pts.
Wouldnt have had the beast of Braithwaite.
Also my double Bournemouth defence with the help of var helped.
Definately proved to me the week was more luck based then fh based.

I like Walker instead of Gabriel or Saliba, but that obv rules out Ederson. With this in mind, I may just opt for Petrovic & Vicario in goal.

To back you up on Burn, I seem to remember lots of Newcastle’s goal in the reverse fixtures were from defenders at set pieces. Maybe they’ve fixed that since then but it does make me tempted by Burn over Schar

Just a question Andy, as you already have a Spurs defender, I think going for the Chelsea keeper will spread the risk as you are doubling up on Spurs defence I personally wouldn't. Spurs play Arsenal, City, Liverpool and Chelesa within 3 game weeks. Not to mention Arsneal and City have been scoring a high amount of goals per game.
I’m more than happy to go Petrovic if I can convince myself he starts every game.

Feeling your pain Andy, i was around 112k, pushing for top 100k, and now fallen to around 175k 😢 Thankfully still have WC and bench boost, so hopefully that will help 🤞

Your right about luck Andy, I got 154 points on FH but there was a certainly some luck, Cunha getting injured meant getting Mateta and Pickford.

I'm among the few if any who bottled a freehit this gameweek. Got 104 points with Henderson in goal who scored an own goal and Kerkez with a red card in defense. Had Pickford on the bench and my 3 Liverpool players all blanked. 😢

147 points with salah as captain😂 Ben white, Maguire, foden, Pickford, branthwaite, havertz, solanke and Watkins all chipping in. I was going with havertz as captain until I watched this channel last week !!

120.60 points this gw absolutely smashed it, top 2k out of 167k people
It's all swings and roundabouts. I scored 150 on my FH, but then I used my WC GW24 before the Liverpool and City double in GW25 and got badly outscored by most random teams in that double (even though I used my triple captain just like everybody else), and had to go without Saka who started scoring braces for fun seemingly for no reason other than I took him out of my team because he had two less fixtures than other players, so was my WC/FH combination lucky? No, I don't think it was at all, I had 4 red arrows in the 6 GWs following my WC. I DO think it was a better strategy (for MOST teams) than FH29, but I don't think it worked out better just because this one GW went very well. Swings and roundabouts.
Also, I know you've worked out how to see old comments from people now, so just in case you ever use that feature, I'm going to go ahead and double down on everything I've ever said: I like both Maddison and Johnson as options, but if Ange rules Richarlison as available, even if he probably won't start both in GW35 then he's the pick. Not Gordon. Not Maddison. Not Johnson. IMO anyway.

FH back in GW 29 is where it all went wrong for most people. Horrible time to FH it turns out. Those who held it for this week obviously made the right decision. Lesson's learned for next season for many
Yeah not really, as I said plenty did fine on FH29.
@@LetsTalkFPL I'd say *some* did fine that week, but the vast majority only gained 5-10 points over those who didn't. Overall I feel there were a lot more points to be gained last week using it
