Hello, I made this trip years and years ago in a regular train and your video brouhgt memories back. Less luxorius but what an adventure and Bankok has stolen my hart as well. Helas I am now to old to travel to thailand, but the memories remain..........
Waoww ur vlogs are wonderful and peaceful man. I feel so happy wen u watch ur vlogs . Videos like these on youtube inspire me to travel in the near future before i get old ,u have doing right thing dats travelljng while ur young .😊
Looks great, and thx for posting. But can't help thinking the old school DMU, cheap and cheerful, is more authentic. The trip up to Nam Tok, and scoring a cab ride on the (very late running) trip back into Hua Lamphong will be a day I'll never forget!
It's very delayed not because their didn't have a money, but because it's state-owned and need a lot of proposals about the procurement to do, and often rejected by the upper government agencies for the unclear planning, the initial plan descript they should got a first batch of the new passenger trainset since 2021, but as we seen today....
17:02 10 years ago. I used to have a tourist train excursion to Namtok (The end of Death railway that still operational to this day). I'm Thai, and I used to attend a high school in Nakhon Pathom. Our school decided to rent entire train (4 cars) for around 100 students, and turn it into a party limousine (but on rail). One of the most fun experiences during high school.
7 years ago we went on day excursion trips to Hua Hin and Nam Tok but the waterfall was dry. This was when there was 65-70 baht to 1GBP and there was no food included, so the tickets were very cheap, maybe £5 per person. We loved seeing the huge stupa and the Bridge on the river Kwai, a very poignant place for British people. For the rail market you had to go to a small station in western Bangkok and take 2 ferries across rivers.
Nice video bro. Thailand has the best royal blossom train in asia. The design of the train looks elegant. I like the video👌😁👍. Please upload air india A350 to Chennai from Hyderabad. Please upload it ❤❤❤❤❤. Most REQUESTED.
Really enjoy your vids, including this one. Thank you. But pedantic corner here .... "exorbitant" means overly expensive; priced more than it's worth. It does NOT mean 'an excess of'. You probably meant there was an extravagant amount of single-use plastic, or simply 'a wasteful' amount of plastic.
Exorbitant (adjective): exceeding the customary or appropriate limits in intensity, quality, quantity, or size. Exorbitant traces back to the late Latin verb exorbitare, meaning “to deviate". Eventually, exorbitant developed its extended sense as a synonym of excessive.
In 2019 I did this journey on the old standard train, going to the end of the line at Nam Tok, then back to Kanchanaburi, took about 8 hours. It was insane. I was in the lowest class with no windows, sitting on the door steps at one point as I'm looking 4 storeys or so down to a plummet. What a journey! Hired a scooter and rode to Hellfire pass, a famous part of the death railway, that was really sombre but a wonderful experience. I just wished my Go Pro had worked!
@@NonstopEurotrip Haven been there for quite a time, a lot changed as I read, didn't even know Hualampong isn't serving long distance any more .. Very sad.
Great trip. This train is heavily influenced by Japanese which in current time have plenty of similar train like this. But yeah the riding experience can't be same like Japan. Overall great trip and train, great food, great experience along the tour.
Good video! There’s a certain irony in the fact that they use a Japanese train to take people on this journey, given the history of the Burma-Thailand Railway. 🤔

Great video! Love the train! :)

No comment! lol
Bangkok has everything except cool weather.

Totally agree that the red/gold livery is awesome. The interior flooring, however, looks like Ikea style faux wood?
Could be LOL
very informative and enjoyable video 👍
I must say. You have a wonderful job!
It certainly could be worse :-)
I REALLY hope they upgrade their normal rolling stocks a bit, but the Special trains are super nice thought
They’re now making orders for carriages and locomotives! Should arrive between 2028-2031

Like those parties on Dsico Boats passing by on Menam Kwae .. Must be real fun for Thai People :)
Wow thanks for sharing - that sounds fun! I did the Namtok excursion also, and swam in the waterfall and went to the cafe there. brilliant times!

That is a local train serve for routine routes. Train not to bad and price is very cheap.
@railwaystory121 Indeed! I'd do the Blossom next time but initially I wanted to slug it out and get the true backpacker experience 😂
Was that definitely Bridge 277 that you saw?
Loved the third class coaches that use to serve the route - fare was risen to 100 Baht, after they had introduced a special "tourist" tariff ..
They still do!

Have you been to Phuket or Pattaya?
Yes. The two worst places in Thailand imo
I watch this UA-cam channel Jason Rupp. He's in Pattaya barbershops very often.
@@JonathanButler-zd8qt there's only one thing you visit Pattaya for - and its NOT the beaches.

I'm thinking it's because of the "auto dubbing" feature that UA-cam turns on by default now, and the audio isn't English also
