Hey Johnny hope your well Patio looks great 👍 I’ve said it before but porcelain is such a game changer in my opinion it’s just bringing the indoors outside and making that clean sweep from kitchen or conservatory to gardens bringing the outside indoors making the garden another useable room love it mate and these vids are so important to our industry to show just how much work and knowledge is needed to push our trade in the right direction Plus u find the time to help and pass on your knowledge to a up and coming new guy absolutely top bloke 👍
Due to having poor trademan work on my house internal, when I first bought it 10 years ago. I am now doing everything my self and now I am almost ready to do my garden thanks to your videos
Cracking John looks lush mate love the product and the curve nor easy. Also to be able to teach people and take the time is fantastic ive had so much pleasure over the years teaching apprentices. Good luck mate. Justin brickright 👍💯
That patio is really coming on great, and the curve is looking the business. The access down those stairs though must be a real pain. Looking forward to the next update
I started to lay my patio and had a panic attack as to why the water was sitting at the edge!! I thought i had laid them the wrong way round. Great doing a patio and having these videos for referance. keep up the good work.
I have big tiles 120x60 and I saw the same story , water keep edge ,I did not start to lay them down yet , but there's no way for water to escape . Tiles are not straight , it seems they are banan shape . What to do ? Sorry for english

Nice informative video johnny boy, nice one One thing thats been bugging me, i work in civils, a manhole is a chamber where a man can literally fit into and climb down. And ones in gardens like you have are inspection chambers. Im a petty fool hahahha
I know Bob that is a fair comment and I am so glad a Civil guy is watching as I can continue my learning from you. its where I started and I learnt so much but things do change, stay sage Bob
Johnny boy, just about to lay porcelain pavers and the instructions on the slurry primer tell me I have to use it within about an hour. They’ll be lucky! I reckon it’ll take me an hour just to do the first couple of slabs!!
Hi Jonny boy I am not a landscaper but I have watched almost all your videos and you are very good at what you do and a very knowledgeable person. I have 1 question please if you could help. Can you use easygrout on porcelain with sandpaper texture surface please or it will ruin the porcelain? Thank you so much for all the videos you made to help people out.
Hi, many thanks for the comments very kind of you. The answer is yes but just do a small bit at a time and clean thoroughly, but make sure your joints are dry to and make sure your sponge is squeezed out well when cleaning added water can be problematic.
thanks, it is just that the more water you put in any mortar the weaker it becomes, and then there is the mineral deposit from the water that can affect your grouting.
I see in this video you slabs are about 1 course below the DPM what is the regs with this regard? Apologies if I’m wrong and seen it incorrectly. I’m genuinely interested to know the regs Cheers And thanks for the videos. Very informative 👍🏼
Hello mate, great work on the UA-cam videos, going to give my patio a go myself thanks to you! I love the tiles used in this video, would you mind pointing me in the right direction as to where I can get the same ones from?
@@richardspooner2751 he will either use a timber trammel or a simple string line either method is fixed at a set point...so a timber trammel is basically like a hand on a clock face just move around and mark your cuts with a pencil off the end of the trammel i usually drill a hole that just nips a pencil ✏. String line works exactly the same. If both them curves are half round then he will have a point against the house exactly middle of curve and 2 points on garden that intercept the middle curve to send it the other way. Just picture 3 full circles from above one against house and 2 circles one either side bisecting the first circle then your using a segment of them hope that helps 👍.

Lol what one is it
It’s Pavestone. I’ll mix it in batches. If it dries out quickly on the back of the paver, can I just brush a bit more on? Thanks Johnny
Looks great as always. It’s so time consuming to lay, I do wonder if porcelain is a fad.
Well some times it is very simple but in this case the curve takes time and the Access, I personally think its here for a while,
Lovely work that. Haven't got anyone you'd recommend for patio laying in Plymouth Devon area have you?
Not at the Moment Scott but always here to help
What advice would you give to someone looking to start up on their own? Patio is looking mega 👍🏻
Thank You the main advise is to get the sub base right its so important

I notice that your mix for you porcelain bed is quite dry mine is a lot wetter is there a reason for a dry mix bed ? Great video
thanks, it is just that the more water you put in any mortar the weaker it becomes, and then there is the mineral deposit from the water that can affect your grouting.
Hi mate, do you know anything about Symphony jointing compound? Looks much easier than grouting.
Not that I know of

Hi Danny from a fixed point or some times we use Electrical ducting
Love the videos John, how do you do your curves
thanks Richard mate, I use a Dry cut blade for Porcelain its called an ECD115 from Rubi

How do you go about doing a curve like that???
Its not hard
Hey John - what do you do with the 50mm gaps at the end when you're finished?
Hi Richard mate I put a nice decrotive stone
@@GreentopLandscapes Top man! Halfway through doing my own patio, couldn't have done it without your tips and advice
Nice job as always johnny!! Do you always use 2mm spacers ? I tend to use 4mm
Hi Paul the space I use is 4mm its a good gap to allow the grout down and still looks sleek
