Surprisingly, my P line midnight black also has ticking sound on 1st gear when i first ride it, it can be solved by turning the left cable. However, i also sent to mechanic to tune it :) I heard some P Lines have seat post dropping issue too. Wish i can join you all for cycling but i have not retired yet! lol
Thanks for watching 😊Most bottom bracket shells have an internal thread to accept bottom bracket bearing units from numerous manufacturers. If these threads are not in acceptable condition, they may need preparation. Threads may need realignment, or may have weld splatter from manufacturing that prevents the threading of the bearings. Shells may be out of round due to welding during manufacturing. Additionally, some bearing system benefit from having the faces of the shell square to improve bearing adjustment and bearing longevity. If the shell faces are deformed, and are not parallel to one another, the left and right bearing may not be concentric to one another. Machining the shell face improves concentricity.
With presence of moisture and some oxidisation, some part of the old bb will be bonded to the frame; the threads become "dirty", so its happen to rethread to make it clean and smooth for the new bb.
I have changed to a new titanium crank, with ceramic bearings, on my similar, flame painted Superlight model. I'm looking for a new carbon stempost, and I must soon change some "heavy Metal" parts on my Mudguards to carbon and alu parts, to make it lighter than now. Also the last of my titanium replacement parts on my brakes. I hope to come well below 9 kilo (for now 9,35 kg), and still using mudguards. But also to still look "standard", without advertising "expensive parts"! Finn. Denmark

change to praxis crankset best 👌 will fly . Token is only a sweeterner haha 😄
Thanks for your video.
Why is it necessary to rethread for the new bb? Is it because newly installed bb has a bigger sized in diameter?

As a former bike builder from scratch, I always had my frames bottom thread cleaned by the shop, before the built!

Any reason for Sam not to change to hollow tech since he was already changing the bottom bracket?
i didn't ask him, he's also a bike mechanic sure got his reasons for not changing 🤔
