“Which one of you crack-smoking condom-less bastards took the knee highs?” I lived among many Ritas in South Philly as a kid. Cheri has this character DOWN. One of my favorite SNL cast members ever.
She reminds me of ladies on Long Island, growing up. A real 'pisser'. 😅
I love how she just continued with the character. First hercdress gets caught in the net and then the helmet rolls off but she never loses it. Lol.
If you grew up in the five boroughs of New York, this is so spot on it's ridiculous. Cheri is brilliant.
@Rb Same in Chicago where I grew up! We had 2 old Italian ladies like this. They always wore black-head to toe. My dad said they wore that so they're ready when someone dies. They had weird names too. The one old lady always called me by the name of someone who grew up decades earlier -Alzheimers? I love Cheri Oteri & wish she had become a big star! Lord knows she has the talent to have done that!

If she’d been part of the Maya/Kristen/Amy group, the next generation, she would have soared. I remember seeing her at the Groundlings in the early 90s. Amazing.
Rita could have quite a yard sale with all the sports equipment she has collected over the years. 😆

Gilda and Cheri are my two favorite females of snl, as well. Cecily Strong rates way up there, too. Amy, Maya, Kristin...Actually, there have been many talented women over the years. But, I guess we all have our favorites. 👍

I grew up in an Italian Neighborhood in Brooklyn. There was one of her on every block.

And might I add, my grandmother was usually the one telling her to shut up

The "friggin white sandals" !!! That alone can put me into fits of laughter....... But she's non stop nuts !!! Growing up in Bridgeport CT. in the 1960's there were mostly Italian, Polish and Irish descendants living in the neighborhood at the time. "ALL" the kids new some scary "don't mess with me" mother like that and of course she became the "magnet of hell" for them to stir up trouble !!! Even her front porch looks like the houses on the East Side !!! This is both nostalgic and "terrifying" at the same time - which makes for perfectly awesome comedy ! Thanks Cheri for being so damn brilliant......I can't stop laughing !!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣♥️

Only somebody in the industry would know. Is this true? I have always loved her! Having been a cheerleader myself, more decades than should pro ably have been allowed, with the sense of humor that only someone from above could give, she is one of my all time favorites!

And people whine and moan for the old days of SNL and claim there are zero good skits nowadays. Is this the absolute gold you miss? Zero laughs for 5 minutes. Wow. Incredible. Maybe they can do 200 of those insanely formulaic cheerleader skits too!
