What's up you guys? My name is RBG and welcome to my video segment, Transformers Movie Universe History. In a previous episode I did a video covering the origins of our old Autobot who's built to last, Ironhide. At the time of making this video I'm not sure how many views it's garnered since this is a Patreon sponsered upload. But I just wanna say thanks in advance to those who took time out of their day to watch & leave a comment. As mentioned in all my videos that I myself am well aware of the hate the Bay films receive and have to agree that most of it is warranted. But I wanna take you guys on a journey and show you some of the positives this universe has to offer because if we're gonna be honest there are certain characters in the films that don't get their just due. Just a heads up if you haven't seen the movies or read the comic book material used in this video, it will come off a bit spoilerish. So be advised. In today's video we'll be uncovering the origins of the legendary warrior thought to have been lost long ago, Sentinel Prime. Now this is an origin that I've been dying to make for a while now and I know a lot of you have wanted see it. Sentinel Prime is essentially a love letter written to the fans wrapped up in a shiney metal envelope. Not only is he 1 of the most compelling villains we've seen in the entire lineup of TF movies but he's also a huge nod to the source material. Through the grace of the Cybertronian Gods, Michael Bay was very fortunate enough to get the late Leonard Nemoy to return to the Transformers franchise. But it wasn't because he originally voiced Galvatron in the original movie, oh no. It was because Leornard was married to his cousin, Susan Bay.

No vídeo de hoje, descobriremos as origens do lendário guerreiro que se perdeu há muito tempo, Sentinel Prime. Agora, esta é uma origem que eu estou morrendo de vontade de fazer por um tempo agora e eu sei que muitos de vocês queriam vê-lo. Sentinel Prime é essencialmente uma carta de amor escrita aos fãs embrulhada em um envelope metálico brilhante. Não é só ele um dos vilões mais convincentes que vimos em toda a formação de filmes TF, mas ele também é um grande aceno com o material original. Através da graça dos deuses cibertronianos, Michael Bay teve a sorte de levar o falecido Leonard Nemoy a retornar à franquia Transformers. In Sentinel Prime, a Pacifist Unifier turned evil, and a revenge against those who destroyed Cybertron, you'd of thought he'd have his own secret force to fuck over both sides and show whose really in charge but as said in the video origin, he's not a leader but a *Unifier*
Think about the depth that would add if he decided, "You know what, time to show these young whipper-snappers whose really in charge here" and introduced a 3rd Transformer Faction into this in where Sentinel Prime was the major threat and the 2 sides would have to ally in order to defeat him otherwise risk assimilation into Sentinel's ways of Rule as he tries to eithe conquer Earth or Bring the Dead Cybertron to Earth's area and power the core into the new core for Cybertron restoring it and ultimately destroy earth. In seeing the devastation wrought by what just happened, Optimus & Megatron would put aside their differences and now that Cybertron is for the most part restored, the battle against Sentinel Prime would usher in a new era of "What If's" in the Transformers Community, let alone its Lore.
This. I've been thinking about doing some what-ifs in this community for a while now. This has further motivated me to do so.

Wouldn't that imply swapping Primus for Unicron as the core of Cybertron? Unless I'm mistaken and you're suggesting something more along the lines of an energy transfer kinda like a blood transplant?

Love how The Fallen is behind all of this. Without his influence on Megatron, the chances of the war happening were slim. He too wanted peace on Cybertron, but ultimately, didn't agree with what his prime brothers said about the star harvesting and what not... Every one seemed to have a good side in the beginning, until their own idealogies caused their downfall. Megatron, fallen, sentinel, etc etc.
The Fallen must've forgotten all about Sentinel Prime.
By that time, he already knew that Sentinel was dead and Optimus hadn't revived him as yet.

Luis Perez well he was still alive when they made dark of the moon, but he died a few years later and they kinda mentioned it by saying his character had died in Star Trek beyond, for dark of the moon, they killed him off because that's just traditional movie Optimus prime
Interesting origin story. Movie-verse Sentinel is definitely the version with the most leader-like qualities. The IDW Sentinel was completely corrupt and the animated version was arrogant.
Yeah TF animated version was really a reference to The Tick especially with the big chin. They're voiced by the same guy who voiced Michaelangelo from the 80's TMNT.

This fills in so many gaps. In DotM, I can understand why he'd ally himself with Megatron, but now it makes a lot more sense to me.

you know when I first got the glimpse of Sentinel Prime in the intro of Dark of the Moon, I thought he was the next big thing and great triumph of Auto-bots and it was probably first positive intro of a transformers movie, that into gave me chills ... but I was so much disappointed by what happened later and the death my favourite bot Ironhide thanks for this video
Felt like Optimus should have exiled him by the end of the film rather than killing him, it would have been an honorable action, knowing his intention to save cybertronian race.

Sentinel prime in the movies really had a deep history, and seemed to be more sophisticated than normal dumb villains.

I like how sentinel wasn’t gonna kill Optimus and Sentinel even refused to have the matrix, and he didn’t want to lead the autobots... He could of been the leader again, but it’s probably because he knew what he was gonna do, and didn’t want to betray autobots idk. When you think about it, Sentinel was a epic Prime, he even showed NEST who is boss and he doesn’t take orders from humans, though I also love how Optimus does things. They should of kept Sentinel alive, but sentinel isn’t on any side but neutral with both. Because Optimus would lead and Sentinel would unite... idk

I understand why optimus killed senti el because he broke the rule of the primes which is never destroy a planet with life and was obviously by the og primes that freedom is the right of sentient being.

Noice voices! Sentinel was my favourite aswell Megatron and The Fallen were just boring "WE'RE EVIL SO WE MUST CONQUER EARTH!" type of villians but Sentinel was different, he unlike the other two had a legit reason for doing what he did and even tho it most likely would have ended the war it still was gonna set multiple factions apart and eventually the destruction of the Autobots and destroying everything they stood for.
At least in the Bay verse, which I still find interesting.

He introduces like 10 or a little more in the first movie kills of like 3 or four
Introduces more than 18 in the next one and kills off at least 14 ( NOT including O.P.)
Introduces at least 50 in #3 (including at least 7 named characters) and kills off all of the 'Con minions and at least 4 named characters
Kills off autobots off screen so that only 4 bots are left.
Introduces 6-7 new autobots, Lockdown and his cronies, and a lot of deceptions in #4 and kills off a bunch of decepticons, 2 autobots, and Lockdown
Brings in at least 3 new bots one small cybertronian and 3 deceptions and reintroduces barricade in #5. kills off most of the cons ( exept for Mohawk-dude, Megatron, and Barricade)

This was an Incredible Masterpiece Origin Video for My All Time Favorite Version of Sentinel Prime and My Third Favorite Antagonist’s in The Transformers Film Series. Michael Bay definitely made an Excellent Choice for Choosing The Late Leonard Nimoy (1931-2015) as The Voice of Sentinel Prime.
I like your videos, you seem to keep a balanced view of Bayverse, not saying its all terrible, or all good.

Am I the only one who noticed that the autobots learned our language by a website and took alt modes on earth but Sentinel was in stasis on the moon and had not be on earth yet but still he knew our language when he returned from stasis mode and had a earth alt mode before he arrived on earth

I've queued this vid to watch later, cause I just showed up at work and I don't have time to watch the whole post. But thank you. You really have no idea how cool it is to get the some history from the Bayformers, comics, and game character types. Keep it up. And have you thought about jumping out of the Bayformers, and give some history to some of the comic hero's. Like Autobots Whirl? I was re reading the dark energon series and got to wondering, what other Gems would RBG would be doing soon, and you decided,, and here's Sentinel Prime!! Hahaha keep em coming!!!

Some say that Quintessa was behind Sentinel’s betrayed on the Autobots. That she manipulated him to side with the Decepticons, just to use his Pillars to transwarp Cybertron to Earth, so they can destroy it to restore theirs. Despite Earth being Unicron, & how Quintessa wanted to kill him to save Cybertron. But Quintessa wouldn’t wake up after the battle of Chicago, despite being in stasis by the Knights, when they robbed her Staff, after she killed their creators, the Quintesons, which destroyed their world which is a pre Cybertron known as Primus. The Knights did had the Allspark, which they & Quintessa were created from, by the Quintessons. Before the Knights leave for Earth, to guard Unicron’s remains. They cast the Allspark into deep space, which crashed on a baron world, that cyberform into Cybertron. With the Fallen & his brothers being the first to appear, which is how history began.

What would sentinel prime look like in the cybertronian war in bumblebee, and how would he look?
by the time the events of bumblebee occurred, sentinel had already landed on the moon 20 years before
His methods were cruel and disgusting, but his intention were justifiable: the survival of his species...though at the cost of another. To cybertronians, optimus prime and his autobots would be traitors because they chose to save an alien race over their own. Even though sentinel clearly dislike the decepticons, at the face of possible extinction and destruction of cybertron, he was able to set aside their differences and focused on what he believed was the bigger threat. Optimus on the other hand, is obsessed with killing the decepticons. No matter what they do, they’re always the bad guys(which is not completely wrong). But between an opposite faction and complete annihilation to his own species, I believe the latter is the bigger threat.
