The lightning was Fantastic, we could hear the thunder out a couple of miles as it was approaching, CAT # 2 hitting us near the Coast in Mexico was nothing, wind rain, didn't loose power, CFE promised that they would not cut power as they typically do so we watched moves.
What was all the Fear Mongering? maybe worked with some Tourists actually it did over 40,000 Tourists left out of Cancun a day prior to Beryl's arrival....360,000 stay'd lol..
It's not that bad guys, it's only 160 km/hr winds for several hours. Ffs. A Cat 1 hurricane is horrible. Most humans will never feel winds so strong.
The High Speed Winds, were up as in 500 feet up or more...on the Street Level just some simple winds, nothing more that a normal storm winds.
So, we got hit with Cat # 2, south of Tulum Mexico piece of cake.
Fear Monger...
1-Cut off Beer Sales 12 hours before the storm, for 12 hours after the storm.
2- Closed all Mini-Markets, all Stores...
Total waste of everyone's time

Just sat around for Cat # 2 in Mexico, ( 1/2 mile from the beach ) piece of cake. Wind Rain, leaves, leaves and more leaves so we watched movie's all night stepping outside to see what all the BIG Hoopla Warnings were about? Neighbor had his BBQ going at 3 a.m. under his North Facing Balcony...
8 a.m. a ton of people standing out in the street drinking coffee laughing at the Mexican Government for Fear Mongering the citizens, curfew on Beer Sales, Curfew on Mini-Market Hours, 50 bucks for a sheet of Plywood lol and the Local Police warning citizens to stay off the streets.
Anything less than a CAT 3 is nothing to be concerned about....only if your out swimming that is....

He's not scaring people. Lots of people don't live homes that can take 80 mph winds. Especially cheap poor one floor wood homes.
