Some sandwiches are worth $33 depending on the cut of meat that's in the sandwich. Maybe no sandwich is worth that much where you're from. Ya'll probably eat squirrel, possum, and pigeon sandwiches.. YEEHAWWWW
I'm from the UK and learned about cheesteak from Fresh Prince when I was a kid, I've never had one, but when I saw him walk into the 'artesan cheesteak' place I knew that was the wrong place!

@@sarahsweeney7416 Wow, what a coincidence! You both are so lucky, living close to Shady Maple. I've been seeing videos on it for years, one day I'll come visit too.
Last time I was in that area and went to Shady Maple, it wasn't very good. I just put it to being an off day, because the dozens of times I've been there in my life, it was normally quite good. That being said, other people I know who live in PA or go to Shady Maple on the regular - continually tell me it's gone downhill lately. I don't know how true that is of course. I will say, their food always looks good, and knowing how they go about making the food (there's a long form video from Insider or one of those other big foodie channels) I still have respect for their operation.
I’m so happy to see that you came out this way. I loved that visit you did to our Chinatown a few years ago. I’m so happy it’s been saved for now. My friend would buy her brother gift cards to Shady Maple for Christmas.
Imagine coming home after a long shift at work and going to bed and then hearing this guy outside your window. Talking like a crazy person about a sandwich😂❤
That roast pork must be truly amazing that you ate the broccoli! I've been following you for a while and every dish that had broccoli, you made it known you hated broccoli, lol.
That food looked so awesome from every place! I only live about 2 hours from Lancaster and I have been there but never went to Shady Maple. Will have to try it!!😋
I agree with Mikey, 💯!! He's genuinely the sweetest, generous and enthusiastic foodie out here. He uplifts and promotes businesses and places, that many don't know of. He's a legend!
I love your videos!! Super happy you’ve been in my neck of the woods for Shady Maple. If you ever get back that way you need to check out the Green Dragon Farmers Market in Ephrata Pa. Only open on Friday, but the local delicacies and stuff there is a foodie paradise. I had to drag a foodie friend away by their coat collar……lol
As much as I would love to recommend shady maple I just cannot. I grew up in Lancaster and live 20 mins from it. Every time I went my stomach was not okay by the end. A lot of the food is repeated on both sides also so it’s not as big as it advertises. There are so many other restaurants that have better quality Pennsylvania style food in the area. I do recommend shopping at their grocery store though. If you want some good Amish food look for farmers markets, Green Dragon or Roots market on tuesdays.
We LOVE Immergut!! So happy to see that you went there. :) You gotta try Dienner's Buffet in Ronks. Small, but the breakfast buffet is fantastic! Lunch/Dinner, too. Pork pudding (breakfast)....mmmm. Brown butter noodles (lunch)... mmmm.
Yes, Shady Maple is the best. I like it best in the spring when the new spring veggies are available, asparagus, peas, etc. The staples they have most of the time, steak, ham, chicken.... too many to mention are alway top notch. Highly recommend and always go famished!!
Next time you're in philly, make sure to get a square pie from Paulie Gee’s Soul City Slice Shop! It's also on south St and rivals Angelo's for best pizza. If you want a regular New York style slice, Lamberti and NYPD in Washington Square are my go to's.

God Lord, it sounded like he'd nearly drown slurping up the first bite of that roast pork sandwich. Man oh man, it makes my mouth water wanting one of those. WAY TO GO MIKEY CHEN!!
Damn. He says everything he ate on this video is the best he’s ever had. Shot out to Philly. Much love from Baltimore. And by the way, Shady Maple is not owned by the Amish.
Moved to Lancaster from Rockville, MD in 2023 and an sucker for any buffets. I knew i had to go here one day. Didn't regret it! Glad I don't live far from this place

Try Go philly in Tacoma, next time you are in that area. order the ultimate philly, hush puppies, catfish and shrimp basket, and get a strawberry lemonade. great stuff.
I love Shady Maple! The food is delicous...mass produced yes but definitely not lacking in taste. There's another famous smaller buffet in PA called Bird in Hand Smorgasbord which is even better...everything tastes fresh and more home cooked.
This is one of the best buffets i've been to. Yeah it's a little over rated, but man it's still really good. Every time I go, I find an item that's not great, but I end up finding 10 items I need a 2nd plate of. Always happy to head here on my birthday too! yum!
Immergut pretzels are my favorite (only whole wheat with honey mustard for me!) Shady Maples only @ dinner now, salmon w/dill sauce is one of my favorites. I haven't been there in a while, but hope to get "home" soon! Miss being in LanCo.
Haven’t been to Philly in years, but satisfy my cheese steak craving wherever I can find a Jersey Mike’s. Pretty close! The other thing I miss are the Maryland crab cakes.
Those cheese steaks all looked great, but that PIZZA. I was jonesing hard the moment I looked at it. That buffet looked legendary and maybe they watched your last video and strove to improve the steak? If I'm ever in that neighborhood, I owe it to myself to eat there.
I went to Shady Maple for the first time this past summer. I don't see what the hype is. The food was mediocre, and it was so packed full of people it was a hassle to get around. I'm glad I got to experience it, but overall, I don't think it's worth going out of your way for.
@Bunnykiller109 unfortunately I didn't get an opportunity to check out the gift shop. By the time I was done eating, the gift shop was closed, but I heard it's full of good stuff.
I don't disagree with you regarding the dinner buffet, just way too many people, but the breakfast buffet is a different experience. Far less people and the food, especially all the baked goods, is amazing
10:52 In Dallas... theres a place called Jimmy's that has a similar pork sandwich (sans tomatos) and its freaking delicious! Its an italian grocery...loads of fresh made stuff & imports.
Mike when you get a chance you need to come to Arthur,IL to yoders kitchen in my opinion its a large amish buffet version of cracker barrel your gonna love it hands down

Artisan cheesesteak with green peppers. 😂😂😂

He got a steak sandwich with cheese, not a cheesesteak from Shays
SERIOUSLY $32 ??????? Damn .........I'm bitching Steve's steaks are $14 ! Damn I'm poor !😖
Glad you enjoyed Angelo’s. It is honestly one of the best places in Philly in anything they do
