Best small tiller can get. Had mine 20 yrs and still going strong . Ploughed up to 8 inches deep by going over a few times..very powerful little machine
Hi I totally agree, I also have the Stihl version and was considering selling the mantis, but I’ve had second thoughts I may sell the Stihl now. Stihl is ok but bigger to store, not so narrow also have have more attachments for the Mantis. Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Had one of these given to me a few years back I gave to a very old friend of mine who uses it for his vegetable patch he got it out of his shed this year and the fuel pipes had failed so I went on ebay and bought a fuel pipe kit now it's back up and running these very durable little machines
I'm a Vietnam vet and two old old to cry over a Mantis tiller. My third carburetor because I cannot learn a lesson and installed everything new. This recent one it ran very good shockingly but the idle seem to be a little too fast so I did not mess with the high low screws I did the silver screw on the bottom and turned it just a little bit and it shut off. I turned it back where I thought it was and since then I've never been able to start it again. I went over to my towel rack and got a paper towel and said to myself the last time I cried was when my mother died but this madness has made me do that again. The only reason I wanted to get it running again is because all of the options I have that goes with it mainly the edger and I use the edger and it was so wonderful again and that is when I tried to adjust the speed because it was still turning over at idle. Then I came inside instead of ramming my fist through the window of my garage I just got a towel and started crying. I could not bring up too many images to make me cry other than my mother. But the Mantis beat me to the ground. I love you young lady because you are so sweet and so caring and so intellectual. I am truly sorry about the spammers and scammers that try to invade your privacy and ours as well. Thank you handle that very well as I knew you would because you are THE CHIKANIC.
great little lightweight tillers them mantis luke. didn't realise they were 2 stroke.i have the honda 4 stroke a wee bit bigger done countless turfing jobs with it. cheers.
Hi I’ve used mine for turf preparation, I find it does the job well. But as they are small and compact there not to much of a problem to store. Thanks for watching🙂👍
bought one of ebay 4 stoke , when the tines go past the center of the eyebolt of wheel depth wise into the soil in the engine tends to cut all the time . and I have to re -start all the time . Can it break compacted soil in garden, ? or do you have to break up with pix axe 1st t then run the tiller over it it seems to work ok is this normal ,am I working it to hard dry compacted soil . or do I need a new carb, machine came with no instructions, so not sure of its limits . any info who be of great help, from people who have used them .many thanks in advance.
Hi I think these are for light work. Just turning over the top of soft or previously well worked ground. More really for regular maintenance of well looked after ground, I wouldn’t put mine on rock hard soil. If yours is running ok on softer top layer ground I’d say it’s fine, we’ve mainly used it for getting ground ready for turf where we haven’t had to go to deep. Hope this helps and thanks for watching🙂👍
Hi Luke. I've got a Stihl mm55 which I bought and fixed not used it much but seems a good machine. Also bought cheap and fixed the bf-km tiller as well that's really handy. I like Echo as well have a collection, the ppt telescopic long reach. I've never touched it and always fires up first pull. My brands of Choice are Stihl, Echo and Honda and Husqvarna for chainsaws. Which I've far to many of! Just rebuilt a 61 probably do second bottom end as a 272.
Hi That’s what my Stihl is the MM55 it needs a new carb, but when I did use it it worked well, I agree with your brand choices good gear the tool I’ve had the longest is a Husqvarna 262xp nice saw👍 I feel me and you are quite alike with our tool collections👍👍👍 thanks for watching🙂👍
