- A fantastic days action in the Mach loop. My first attempt at full on video after many years of still photography, so not the best out there, but I enjoyed the challenge! Featuring F16 fighting falcons from Aviano,, F15 Strike Eagles, Tornado GR4, Eurofighter Typhoon and Lockheed Hercules. Enjoy! (And sorry about the wind noise)
In my opinion the F-16 fighting falcon is one of the best fighter jet ever made in aviation history 😎 ✈️

The world agrees with your opinion. Even today it is still being delivered to other countries. It is one of the most successful designs ever created.
I'm not surprised F16 are still in use after so many years since founded. So dynamic in every piece of movement.

Every thing other then the f16 has twin engines makes them a hell of alot slower my dad flew f15s and although they are mach capable there still super slow

the f 16 may not be the fastest , most manuverable or the biggest payload but as far as overall fighter jet it will always be the best in my mind
If it's not the most maneuverable, it's at least right there next to one.
If there's one thing that really bugs me about all the mach loop videos, despite the awesome footage and aircraft in these low conditions the constant chattering of camera shutters does my absolute head in lol

Flying higher too, which gives a lot more room for manoeuvre: F-15s and F-16s come in above the camera position. Typhoon comes below it, Hercules certainly well below, Tornado low, then bunts up and then low again. The cameraman can't keep up with the Tornado. Far from definitive, but to my eyes the Tornado is faster here, which ought to be no real surprise.

My friend flies F15 Eagles for the US Airforce. I said do you get to break the sound barrier or do barrel rolls.

Lucky sob. He had his pilots license at 12 or so so we knew he was going places. Graduated top of his class at embry riddle then decided to become an officer.
First pilot didn't give a damn, he was flying through at full blast.
I think he didn't control it as well as he should have, he seems too fast and hesitated once, then level, then over banks and goes high. The other at 00.50 seems much more in control.
Bring on the SU's and an the Mikoyans for the Falcons and vipers
Exactly my thoughts as well Hermes Bird as it wa so out of the ordinary, the maneuvers seemed stuttered and he didnt transition well at all. He is there to learn though (and to make the rest of us green with envy.) and I wonder how many hours he has in the bird.
Get a wind screen for the microphone. It kind of ruined the sound on this.

Question, if there’s any pilots watching, when flying through mountains like these where people with cameras are popular, when you see them do you purposely fly closer to give them a good flyby? 😀
I always thought it'd be funny if they would film some old movie there, like hobbit style or game of thrones, have a jet go flying through and characters being like, WTF was that, shrugging it off, and then moving on.

Was this footage taken on July 31st by any chance? We were at Cad West that day and saw everything you've got plus a couple of Hawks that snuck past and we almost missed!

From what I've heard the F-16 was designed to be as close to unstable as possible because the instability makes the jet more maneuverable. We can definitely see that the 16's were more maneuverable. Damn, I love that jet!!!!

These are the modified version of the F16 flown by the Israeli Air Force. Probably the best fighter jet ever built. Flown by Probably the best fighter pilots in the world. Great video!

Wish the camera person didn't zoom in so much as it passes. You lose the reference of the background because it's zoomed in so much, and then you really can't tell just how low it is.

I think you've tinkered with the speed of the video mate...The rollrate looks to fast with wingbags. I could be wrong, but it looks "not right" to me.

Is this in Cumbria if you dont mind me asking ?? If so were abouts and how can you find out when flying if you can at all or is that a stupid question. Just that i was in cumbria in 2014 and experienced this and would love to take my kids to experience it as it is amazing

Thanks for the message. This is in North Wales (Snowdonian mountain ranges) it’s a week day thing, as long as the weather is good, you will usually see something, but unfortunately there is no set time etc, so it’s the luck of the draw if you do see anything.
There is quite a few places in the UK which hold low flying areas, especially places like Wales, Scotland and the Lake District area, so there is a possibility that Cumbria is a regular low level training area.
If you watch some of the cockpit video's they seem to hit the loop, then proceed the the lakes in cumbria, then return via the isle of man

Russian and Chinese pilots do not attempt these stunts at home. These pilots are highly trained and skilled professionals.
