I feel like I am guilty of making every single mistake you mentioned on your don’t side but I am slowly improving with your help. There is a lot to learn from you. You are a great teacher.
Hi Smitha, first of all, you are absolutely lovely! I'm 62 years old and I'm always looking out for make-up tricks. I always keep my make-up decent because I really don't want to highlight the wrinkles and enlarged pores. This particular session of yours refreshed my memory......we kind of get into habits as we are aging. Thank you, I appreciate your information and your time. Keep it up. And, of course, I have subscribed. Kindest regards, Daniela
I also wanted to thank you for getting right to the point. I really dislike hearing someone go on for 15min about what they had for breakfast! Your technique is so professional. You are lovely❤
Makeup has changed so much since I learned how in the 1970s. (green creme eyeshadow, pink, red, or "Orange Flip" lipsticks were what we had) I now have hooded eyes and some wrinkles, LOL, but I still love makeup. I have just discovered you, in the last week, and you have REALLY helped take my creativity and love of color and individuality into my senior years! I can do the color, but you have shown me HOW to apply it on a mature face. IDK how, as you are so young and gorgeous. I have hyperpigmentation on my lids as you do. I did an orange shadow with a purple liner today and got the comment from one of my students "your eyes are so green". Not my makeup; they saw my eyes!! Thank you for your content. You may not see this comment, but I had to tell you.
I want to see the orange shadow and purple liner. Now I’m old enough to give zero effs about others opinions I’m totally into colour but on the other hand I still care about others opinions so I want it to look good and not like a caricature trying to look human. 😂
Asside from the crazy brow, the dont face is more of a stylistic choice than a mistake. I love the graphic eye, the flushed cheek and the cupids bow lip.
I just started makeup, im 21 and i come to your videos when i need help. You do the easiest and most simply steps. I couldnt do anything right when i first started. I can do wing eye liner, eyeshadow and its because of you. Ordered some of the stuff you used and i feel like a artist lmaoooo. Thank you sooo much.
Yes! More, please. Really great to show the mistake side/ good side together. You have a gazillion tricks up your sleeve, and are generous to share them!
Your makeup is beautiful, that is such good advice to prep the skin before makeup. So true about using the right primer for your skin, makes such a difference in also how long the makeup lasts through the day!
I applaud you for making this video. Showing us how different application techniques look is much more useful than applying it without a comparison or simply telling us how to do it. Thank you!
I want to thank you. You are truly the best makeup teacher I've ever seen. I learned more in 14 minutes than I have in the past 10 years of watching youtube.
Lots of great tips and information. Setting the primed lid on the “do” side appears to have been omitted but was clearly done to enable the “seamless” (tribute to John MacLean) shadow application
I own everything you used in this video and I REALLY appreciate that. So many channels are inconsistent with their products and always switching up... this is awesome, genuinely helpful🥺
I found you a couple of years ago when I was looking for a tutorial for hooded eyes. I'm not very good with makeup and it took me years to realize that the makeup didn't look right on me because I wasnt taking advice from someone with my features. I'm glad I found you! thank you!
Simple & straight to the point. I love how you video is IRT and not sped up. I don't wear a full face of makeup daily but some times I would like to enhance my eyes to look a little more pulled together for certain occasions.
Yes would love additional parts to this. Seeing the do/don’t side by side really shows the difference. You are gorgeous and thank you for your content❤️
Oh Smitha, you are an absolute genius and a life saver. The right side is so classy and neat, I love it!! The only problem I ever get is with eyeliners, I start really thin but they always look uneven so I keep relining until I get an irreversible ugly block on top of my upper lashes 😫
I absolutely love the commentary. It is so true. I am not the only one who thinks this way. I also love how you explain why you don’t add concealer to the center ❤️
You so real...like I've actually loved how you show us real people real problems and what's really awesome is that you use drug store products too because not everyone can afford high end products. I would live to see a part 2 follow up on dos and donts.

@@cyndivarnell7560 there are a few older woman on here who have done it. I love Smitha but like ill the younger beauty gurus, us older people with more mature skin cant do all the things they can. Once you watch them, youtube should recommend more to you. There arent a lot out there, or search unfortunately. You can also search matire skin hooded eyes, or mature skin makeup. Good luck! Ps- you will have to learn to recreate your crease to make your eye lids appear more open, dont "bake" at all, if you want a wing, the bat wing is the best style for it not to be hidden once you open your eyes. And a big part with eyeliner is your have to keep your eyes open while putting it on. When you do it closed, then open, its even more down turned. Just some advice Ive picked up. But "hot and flashy" channel and "risa does makeup" has tons. Hot and flashy is a little annoying but so far the best advice I've gotten for mature skin.

I love this video! The only thing about setting spray is that it’s not recommended if you have oily skin. So it won’t work for everyone. The oils will break down your makeup and spray so you’re better off doing a light touch up with powder and a puff throughout the day wherever your face is the most oily 🙂
Wanted to ask I’ve been using a setting powder from mac and wanted to transition to mac prep and prime matte setting spray but I have really oily skin, would that work because it has the powder particles in it or should I stick to the powder I don’t mind the powder but it can be messy please help!
A matte setting spray is reccomended for oily skin and applying it as a base followed by a light dusting of transculent powder before foundation and after foundation will help keep the oils at bay all day long. Also using a matte primer before these steps really helps too.
I actually really like the "don't" side. In fact, it is a great look for those that have a sagging eyelid, it hides it (can't think of the actual term right now). I would prefer the "don't look for a night out and the "do" side for everyday look.
