I like that Jotaro most likely stopped time to grab the pendant out of her fist and closed it back up, but didn't use the stopped time to just... help her not fall LMAO

He didn't helped her because Jotaro is showing the possible chances that the pendant can lose in very small or big situations
And that pendant is very important because it has a gps tracker, so he is lecturing her

Call me crazy but Jotaro did everything right because if Jolyne calm downs too much her stand will be weaker, and if Jolyne gets angry stand will be strong because stand power depends on user's emotions.

But at the same time, it's kinda good thing since Josuke can easily heal Jotaro when he get hit by the dart/bullet while Josuke body will permanently get fucked up without anyone able to heal him if he the one that take Jotaro jobs..

Considering when he first bumped into Koichi he used SP to gather his falling books instead of catching him I don't feel this is that much of an issue considering it's consistent. Especially with his own daughter. He wants her to be as self reliant as possible so she doesn't end up like him in P3 with dead friends and an overwhelming amount of PTSD and trauma.
_No issue with Jotaro letting Jolyne fall, but Jotaro did use SP to catch Koichi before he fell._

if you know, jotaro had to abandon the most precious people in his life in order to protect them. getting hated by Jolyne was the best way for her not to get killed. it's really a tragedy, and he literally gave his life for her at the end of the episode

Everyone knows Jotaro did his best to protect Jolyne from Stand users by staying out of her life, but part of being a parent is being there for your child no matter what... I think it would be unfair to Jolyne to say that Jotaro was a good dad because he was never there to _be_ a dad in the first place. Jolyne was so ready to accept his affection in this scene here, but Jotaro decided to be an asshole and ruin the moment, making it about the pendant. That emotional awareness is such an important factor to being a parent, but because he was never there for her, he never learned how to develop it.
I'm just saying it would be wrong to excuse Jotaro for all the ways he wronged Jolyne. I don't hate him or anything. Adding this extra layer to his character gives him more depth. After all, his father was absent, too.

@Plot ded Yeah that's what I'm saying. While it's true that he loves her as a father would and went away to protect her, everything else that comes with parenthood were things he never learned. Jotaro wasn't really a father until he came for her in prison for those reasons you mentioned.
It makes a lot more sense if you assume Jotaro has aspergers.

I love how Jotaro just wants to protect his daughter and, while it might not be apparent, he is trying to get a move on in this scene. That prison is bad news, and Jotaro knew it.

While it looks like a dick move, idk why people forget that that medallion is important for Jolyne to escape prison and that's why Jotaro hyper focuses on it, I think it's more important to save Jolyne from being fucking killed than to a lil trip
Jotaro would stop time to construct a comfy bed with scented candles and a 5 star meal if Koichi tripped.
So... he uses star platinum to catch koichi's school stuff (koichi was just some random kid at the time)... but he doesn't use star platinum to stop his own daughter from falling down a few steps.

Jotaro ... Such a perfect Shonen MC. In my opinion anyways. I always liked that consistent character in anime who never really changes/changes minorly but still has a heart of gold. Except Jotaro has a heart of Platinum. No pun intended, risking your life to safe your loved ones is no easy thing to do.

I didn't noticed this while reading the manga, but this scene being animated really seems to make Jotaro look kinda mentally broken.
I definitely think he has really bad ptsd. Him going through part 3 as a teenager, who already had social issues, really stunted him. I don't like his actions as a father, but I understand it through the lens of a man who is deeply traumatized and never handled it.
