I really enjoyed this movie. It was the first movie I ever got on a VCR tape. I've watched it so many times. I was living in NJ when I first saw it. Now I'm in West Palm Beach, Fl. Ironic I'd move down here. I sure do not miss the col & snow storms.

This was one of Martin Ritt's next-to-last films as both producer/director. He died in late 1990 and early 1991.

The reason they don't make movies like this anymore is because movies have become baby sitters, they are computer animated pieces of shit and older people who would love to see a movie like this can't afford the Coke and popcorn. Then Netflix and expanded HBO and Showtime put the nail in the coffin. Oh well, thank God for CD's. And UA-cam!!
