Here is the integral of the cycle "Eternal songs" whch is made of three symphonic poems or rather musical evocations. The style is clearly neoromantic, and this is a masterpiece. It is a pity indeed that Karlowitz was killed by an avalanche in the Tatras mountains. He was becoming the indisputed flagship of the musical postromantic movement in Poland, and even of the postromantic movement itself, when we consider the quality of this cycle, together with his symphony, his concerto for violin, and smaller but excellent symphonic pieces.
Beautiful Issac Levitan painting, that captures the essence of this composition perfectly. He also died tragically young at only 39 years of age days before his 40th bday.
the less known pieces I stumble upon the more fascinated I get listening to them.......
*what a truly amazing gem*
