Nope to Yups… sorry Swedes
Heretic
Lol I'd love salty licorice.
I wouldn't eat Yups or any Läkerol if it was the last "candy" on earth, so no biggie. You not giving KEX a 10/10 on the other hand...
We forgive you... 😉
id would say no to yups too, bad brand of salty licorice. But "too Whoppery"...How Dare You!
We LOVE the salty licorice in all the nordic countries, not just in Sweden 😄👍
Netherlands too :)
Ha ha. Though Americans have generally a fun reaction to salty licorice the most extreme one is actually from a french guy. A friend of mine worked in an international office (I don't remember what country) where people from various nationalities worked. They all put candy and snacks from their homecountries on a communal table in the break room for everyone to eat from during the work day. My friend, being swedish, put a small bowl of 'djungelvrål' among the other candy and snacks. Later she heard an enraged howl from the break room where a french guy had apparently grabbed a few and chomped down... he was not amused and demanded it be removed. To him, salt on candy was equal to child abuse.
Should have started with one.
I lol'd so hard at this!
That salted licorice you tried is the "weak" kind. There are even more salty ones called "Svenskjävlar". Highly addictive :)
Oh, I'm thinking S-märke salt skum, before we go that far.
omg yeees, Svenskjävlar are the best, eating one right now actually haha, mmmmmm😋
Would these be anything like the dutch double salted? As someone born in Netherlands, i love them, but others hate them.
...and don't forget djungelvrål!
Jag älskar saltlakrits och svenskjävlar är för mycket till och med för mig. 😄
These are just guys hanging out having a good time, makes it easy to watch haha.
Great work Megan, you are truly a great ambassador for Sweden, Migrartionsverket should be ashamed for kicking you out.
Daniel was great! He is always a great addition to any production. He definitely makes Zedcast! He is hilarious with such dry humor.
Totally agree.
Too bad the box didn't contain djungelvrål. Would've been interesting watching those guys try that one.
That had made the day
Or turkisk peppar
Or even the hockey puck they ignored... >_>
I think you can buy Djungelvrål at IKEA. They can buy that too on their hunt for Daim.
Or go even further with svenskjävlar
Funny I saw the candy and snacks on zedcast because I follow them also. Most Americans love the Daim, Ahlgrens Bilar - both can be found at IKEA :)
They sell Ahlgrens Bilar at IKEA?! I don't remember seeing them there... I haven't been to the local IKEA for a couple years though, so I'll have to check! :)
@@MeaganNouis The cars are good.
By spitting out the licorice I think they just declared war on us in Sweden :S
Reading the comments from the Swede's below was my favorite part of this video...I live in North Carolina...it was fun reading.
Salty licorice is quite popular in Sweden and Finland, I like it a lot.
The ultimate power move is tricking foreigners into trying Tyrkisk Peber(turkisk peppar/turkish pepper) lol. You get both the ammonium chloride and spice, they taste pretty much like a punch to the face even when you like them.
Läkerol is something you'd usually have to clear up your airways if you're a bit stuffy, or to counter bad breath. They're basically candy cough drops, which is why you usually don't down the entire bag at once(some of them are really delicious though, hard to stay away lol).
Kryptoniter is another Good one for doing sneaky candy stuff!
💞TYLER BROUGHT ME HERE💞
It doesn't matter the subject you guys are covering, all four of you make me laugh endlessly.
Cheers Megan for getting them to try all these products, possibly a few more
I like the reactions, it was funny to watch 9.5/10. Läkerol is more of a
throat lozenges?! its not candy persay.... And Hocky Pulver is typically kids candy, kids loves it.
I don't know if kids generally loved it, tbh. I sure didn't. In my circle of friends, it was more of a proof of being cool and tough among the guys. A kids' chicken race.
I have also thought of Läkerol as throat lozenges, but when I googled some before I thought I would post this. I found that Läkerol tries to go for throat lozenges, breath mints and chewing gum which aims to be good for your teeth.
We LOVED seeing you test these out!!! 😍 Thanks so much!! We hope there are many more Daim bars & dill chips in your future!! ✨
The guys insulted the entire country of Sweden by spitting out the salted licorice. But I guess not everyone can have a good taste in candy.
As a child i never loved it either, wasn't until around 5 years ago i started to like it. To me it defenetly is something you grow to love so I can't blame them for spitting it out at the first try.
On the other hand, it was Läkerol, which is a candy, but not really. It's more of a breath freshener that you normally would't eat a lot of.
Imagine what they would think about Djungelvrål :)
@@zpitzer aw she didn't make them eat Jungelvrål?
Lakrits smakar skit. Men alla bör pröva det.
I love the hockeypulver confusion.
Love how Tyler said that one smelled like a gym shoe but kept smelling it!! 😆😆
I watch Zeducation each week. Nice get together guys! 🎉
I cant believe Tyler gave Kexchoklad a 2.2? Everyone likes Kexchoklad damnit! At least he liked the Daim!
Salty black lakrits.. gets 'em every time.. ;)
I laugh every time they say "Bayg" instead of bag.
Those Läkerol "YUP" is delicious 🤤😋 I like pretty much every type of black licourice but of course i like alot of other candy from Sweden and yes, i'm Swedish 😄👍
Hockey puck candy is found pretty much in every store in the areas by the pez candy. it’s an absolute abomination but my Finnish girlfriend thinks it is a walk in the park and will dip her entire tongue in the powder. Also it was a common thing to snort it back in the day 👌
Does she? That is a great indicator of something else she doesnt mind doing. Wink wink
I like they go from saying Yup to NOPE!! In the same sentence.
I subscribed because of the zedcast crew.
Holy crap I've never seen them all in one room before, they're always in some weird split screen thing on the podcast.
As a kid I would typically dip my tongue in those hockypucks hahaha
No clue if that's the normal way to do it but that's how I did it !
you and med Victoria, i did the same!
I think you dipped a special lollipop in it.
@@annicaesplund6613 I believe that was another candy... I don't remember which, though.
@@annicaesplund6613 by lollypop you mean your Wang don't you?
Saame, always ate it as is.
Loved how Deev, Chase and Daniel entered into the spirit of this. Tyler, you didn't apart from the last few minutes.
You guys crack me up seems like you have a great time together keep up the great work. Greetings from the Tug Hill upstate NY reporting in.
As a Swede I love salty licorice, especially the Swedish Fish kind and Pirat Pengar (Pirate money). I’ve never had licorice YUP so now I have to try it! 🤩 Too much licorice is not good for your blood pressure though.
Funny how you compare everything (almost) to pickles - I find that so disgusting! 🤮 I bought the Juleskum Apple & Cinnamon candy last Christmas and didn’t care for it at all. It didn’t taste anything to me. Their previous Blueberry taste though was delish!!! ❤️
My favourite of what you had is the Daim bar and the Dill-chips. ❤️
I am one of those rare americans who actually likes salty licorice a lot! I was in Stockholm this summer, and I got to try spicy salty licorice and salty licorice ice cream - it's addictive :D
Then you're an honorary Swede.
The red salty candy is called "hallon shots", Raspberry shots in english.
Interesting that they liked the chips so much, I've often heard from foreigners that Swedish potato chips are very good.
someone send her some Supersalta Krutdurkar :)
It is so weird how people in USA love sour candy, but cant stand liquorice, while most here dislike sour and love liquorice, maybe in our genes lol, our parents had it and so we are born with it lol
17:56 Some sort of "Sura flaskor" (sour bottles)
Salty licorice is amazing and the red bottles are sour, but not scream out loud sour.
It's so funny to me how Americans always react so extremely to just mildly sour candy lol
But those bottles aren't mildly sour 😅 They're the real deal!
Actually I think the red one is quite sour. But of course it can be more. I think there is company in Skara that makes "Dragster 2000" which is so sour that my teeth got hurt.
I'm American and sour candy is my favorite. Lots of us enjoy it in America. Some sour candies are quite popular here.
@@saltycat662 yeah sourpatches are really sour (and I'm a swede)
It’s so funny to me how Europeans always talk so condescendingly of Americans
I'm getting diabetus just watching these candy unboxing videos.
It's pretty funny to watch though.
Love you respect Willford enough to say it properly..well done sir ❤️it
17:57 Those are actually some of the most sour candies out there, and they used to be even sourer when I was a kid!
Her voice is so soothing, you would get millions of subs doing ASMR!! 🤣🤣
“I take a fish oil pill in the morning that tastes better than that.”!! Chase cracked me up. 😂😂
Hi! I work in the candy factory that makes theese hockey pulver. ;) There are actually more flavors in theese, like strawberrys. BUT when you eat it you just stick your toung in it. ;) They are also sold in biger boxes to norway I think it is , where they have it on ice cream. Just some fun facts for you.
Salt licorice is the best! Ask anyone from Sweden, and Finland as well! So tasty!
this was HILARIOUS! Love the vid!
Kul med Zedcast som jag redan prenumererar på också:) jag brukar doppa tungan i Hockey pulver. Mmm namnam. 👍
Vad kul att du följer Zedcast med! Jag trodde inte att många skulle vara prenumererade till oss både 😂
This was fun :) Swede here, love all licorice, especially saltlakrits (the salty kind) Loved Hockey Pulver as a kid as well, just ate the powder as it is (Realizing now that that wasn't perhaps very healthy). Sometimes i dipped licorice lollipops in it ;)
You can make a milkshake with hockeypulver, by mixing a box of it with 2 dl milk and 1 dl vanilla ice cream. Very tasty!
Oh I loved this I haven't had such a good laugh for a long time.. So fun and hilarious comments and reactions.
People tasting different candies never gets old! 😁 I love watching the reactions, especially if it's stuff you know yourself. 😆
Some years ago I sent a box full of Swedish candy and Christmas related foodstuff to a friend in Japan and her family. It was a blast hearing about them tasting it. Dillchips and ginger cookies are their new favorites but the salty licorice didn't go down well as expected.
Daniel.
Professional Snack Critic
"it's a good ratio". I think he meant it's lagom haha
We don’t have peanut butter in Europe?! 🤔I sadly developed a nut allergy about 10 years ago and so I can’t eat peanut butter or peanut butter ANYTHING😩 but we absolutely have it here. Green Choice, Garant , Änglamark, Skippy and lots more.
If you don’t have Jif, You don’t have peanut butter. XD lmao just kiddin.
@@V0NRH1NE We have that too😝 I swear , look it up.
When it comes to salty licorice I think most children hate it but when they become adults they are more likely to start liking licorice.
Edit: Yes, I understand many people like/ doesn’t like it even though their age, but this is just my experience, and especially with people who didn’t like it as a child, in my experience, started liking it more as adults. But I’m sure all of you love it/hate it even though your are of a specific age group! Thanks for telling me your prospective! 😁🍬
I’ve always loved all kinds of licorice. Many of my friends when I was a kid loved it too.
I don't remember a time I didn't like it. There are definitely some people who don't like it even in Sweden though
Yeah I have always loved licorice and specially salty ones. "Djungelvrål" I ate a lot as a child.
I think we all can agree that it hasn't got anything to do with age.
I'm 40 and still find it disgusting. 😝
I love salty licorice and my child do as well. Nothing to do with age. 🙂
Hey its Zeducation !!!
I like this channel more and more!!
Nice video, always fun to see people try our candy :)
You should have a swedish person as well joining!
so fun to watch! i will be sharing with my sis who has lived there and may know all of these! i'll see what she thinks! thank you meagan, for making me laugh!
So glad I was not a Guinea Pig on this, but plenty happy to watch you guys as ones.
Oh Meagan, you should have gotten the "Djungelvrål" for them! Its wonderful!
The salty licorice always gets them! 😂😂😂 Personaly I love it!
I did love salty (salmiak) licorice already as a kid! You need to be a bit careful with it, though. Too much is really unhealthy for you. Licorice gives you high blood pressure, and the salt is kind of corrosive for your teeth and gum.
The YUP ones are sugar free and from a classic "throat candy" company, and not my first choice for salty licorice candy. I do enjoy them too, though.
The Dumle company, Fazer, is actually Finnish, but it's a popular brand and they sell a lot in Sweden.
I LOVE the Hockey Puck candy (salmiak powder!). I think it's supposed to be eaten as you did with the finger, but when I buy it (as a grown up) I use a tea spoon. 😅
Fazer bought some Swedish brands, just like Marabou been bought up and no longer taste like it used to.
@@annicaesplund6613 I didn't know that. :D
Yeah, we love our salty liqurice in Sweden and all of Scandinavia (originally from Finland and they love it even more).
I LOVE black licorice. Especially when it’s salty.
Just wanna make it short:
Wonderful and entertaining video.
Thanks 😊
Finally!!! Someone other than be who har that burns/hurts my throat reaction to Daim. I've never before come across someone else who gets that too!
Even before watching this I anticipate this is going to be good.
Zed, thank you for sending me here. I can’t wait to see other videos on this channel. Nope toe “YUP”
That was loads of fun. Made me loa 😁😁
It's a variety show...
Zed, my wife says that too!
🤣😂🤣Love it!! Really interesting! The hockey-puck came out when i was a kid, somewhere in the 80 ´s. Eather you pour it in your hand and then into your mouth - or you simply dip your tongue in there...🙂Have not tried the Yup, so I can´t say but oh yeah, we love the salt - and the licorice! Thanks for your honest thoughts guys!
What about surstromming? I heard quite a bit about it. I heard it is a preservative for fish and it smells really really awful. Have you ever tried it? How salty is it?
@@oldgordo61 It smells like crap, for sure! But if you put it on a hard thin bread (here in Sweden called tunnbröd), with potatoes and garlic + sourcreme...it is not all that bad! .-D I have only tried once or twice - but some parts of my family was obsessed with it!
You should not just eat the fish itself... If you´re not the kind a person that likes to punish yourself! 😂🤣
20:20 and the Air Force has left the building!!!
Those red sour bottles are sura Hallonflaskor. At least I think that's what they're called, haven't bought any candy except for licorice the past 20 years...
This was such a cool video. 😃
This is hilarious!
The Daim bar that the guys like is an old brand in Sweden. It's been around more than 50 years.
Why are americans so sensitive to salty stuff? 😂 I can gobble bags of Djungelvrål and Turkisk Peppar and just love every second of it 😂
I hope they do Djungelvrål! =P
It depends upon the American. Our pallets are diverse as we have a HUGE country and many many subcultures within it. The food you get down South is not the same as NY and NY food isn't the same as Boston. These guys featured are from the Midwest. You can get alligator meat in Florida and grits, and up north you get beans and hash browns. Pizza in Chicago is deep dish like in a pastry shell while NY style pizza is on a thin flatbread.
And I can handle food so spicy it'd make you cry, but I probably can't handle some of the stuff they eat in south-east Asia. It's just a matter of what you grew up with and are used to.
Me too!
@@found6393 I can't even handle mild jalapenos. I have a very lolerance for spicy food. India is also well known for its spicy food.
Meagan you as an American who have eaten alot of Swedish chocolate what do you think about Hershey?
Also Daniel is right about the Popcorn ruines the chocolate, they should have tried the original plain Marabou.
I have always loved salt liquorice. When you grow up with it you don't think it's strange 😆
Licorice is definitely a Scandinavian thing. Licorice is my all time favorite!!
Love most of the sweets you had there, we mostly eat Haribo and Kim's here in Denmark but i do get those kind of candies, i love Piratos and that is also extremely salty in flavor as well.
I'm from Sweden.
There was a few I never had, and cant' say they are common.
Kexchoklad is very common, but that's a thing between candy and a snack.
Daim is great, but I enjoy darker chocolates now when I'm older.
Läckerol to me is mostly for a fresh feel in my mouth, like a breath mint. That YUP though with salt sounds out of wack, and not interesting.
My favorite potato chips is chili cheese.
I prefer chocolate between 40 and 85%.
Aussie here , love salty licorice. Dutch double salt licorice is great. Many different types.
Yes, we LOVE salty liquorice! The saltier, the tastier :D To us, it's not salty as it is for you. We're so used to the taste so it's both sweet and salty to us, but I can understand the reaction tasting it for the first time. :)
Oh yeah the red fishes, I forgot those!❤ I wonder if we still have them in Sweden, haven't noticed🤔
Gonna try the cheeze stars tonight and have a food coma!
You guys should try Djungelvrål next... you'll love it
YUP! And Hockey Puck is sold in every store 👍🏻
haha great video. Subbed
Great show! New subscriber.
Hazelnut in EU became popular because in ww2 the ability to get coco plants for chocolate was scarce and to compensate they add hazelnut paste that is close. This was also done in the USA to a lesser degree and GIs would give them to kids for PR .
So much fun
I'll have to try some of those. I love the double zout licorice. (Dutch) and these sound good😋
also great edit!
Try not to laugh sent me here, thanks Zed
Professor Zeducation sent me here for research.
There were an old Dajm-commercial that said with the deepest bass-voice imaginable:
"-You never forget your first Dajm".
its funny how when they came to the hockey pulver... yup we do it in all of those ways xD
Good show👍🙂
Biiiig fan of Tyler Zed.
