  • I have taken a walk from Sandhills Station to the EFC Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock. How long is the walk?
I have also taken a look at some of the properties in and around the EFC Stadium that could be considered for development for bars, cafes, etc..
I hope you enjoy the video.

    Hi Nick
Brilliant video of all the property to buy. I wish you would have gone in the Ten streets social , we went in there last week. Brilliant venue for match days. Reminded me of the beer Keller. Big space huge tables. Big screen and a long bar. It’s a winner. Keep up the brilliant work. Tel

    Morning Nick,
Brilliant video, I think you should be applauded on way you conduct your video's, yes it is difficult staying middle of the road, but BZ. it is a brilliant walk from Sandhills to Bramley Moor Dock and the way the stadium rises out of the docks, it's amazing, also the information you pack into your videos have always been informative and useful and again thanks again
    Regards

I can't believe it took me almost a week to find this video??!! Thanks for showing all of those potential pubs and cafes, etc. I wouldn't mind having one or being a partner in one but I have a feeling most of them are probably spoken for by now. Good luck to them. And made up that the owners of the Bramley Moore Pub held onto it for all these years through bad times.

Ten minutes from Sandhills Station to the stadium. That's worth knowing. So half the time of walking from the city centre. I'd guess the reason for the hotel planning permission being turned down is that the council has big plans for that area. Exciting times ahead, I reckon.

Nick, There are other planning applications in for those around the ground.Hotel, bierkeller and terrace bar. What you have to remember a large developer could enter the frame once any uncertainty is gone re ownership etc.

    Hi Nick
The old building at 93 Regent Road that you stopped outside was The Sandon Lion. Been closed for many a year. Would love to see this reopened.
The old pub you stopped outside at 17 regent road used to be called The Farmers Arms. It later became a B&B with a poor reputation and that then closed down I believe. There used to be a pub next door to this at 19 Regent Road called The Palatine but it was demolished.
Other demolished pubs on your walk along Regent Road were The Atlantic (which used to be on the corner of Sandhills Lane & Regent Road), The Sandhills which I think was on the opposite corner, The Black Diamond at 69 and The Washington at 70 Regent Road.
The building you said was for rent and/or for sale at 65 Regent Road used to be another pub- The Waverley.
I think there may have been one on the empty site you said had a planning application for a new hotel, I think this was The American pub that burnt down. Next door and now empty was the infamous Regent Pub that was later called Bonkers Fun pub.
Regent Road, quite the pub crawl back in the dock days. Hopefully the new stadium will put some life back into it again.
    Keep up the good work.
Enjoy watching your videos from my new home in New Zealand.

If they'd kept the dockers umbrella..........A station dedicated for Bramley and the Titanic and any local developments would be massively expensive, but would make sense. The current hike from Kirkdale to Goodison is about 15 mins. We used to do it in the 80s but it would take longer. The Sportsman, The Tramway, Caradoc etc!!!!😂

Yeah, I'm from out of town and I used to get the train to Kirkdale and then to the ground stopping off for a pint or two in the Tramway. John Bailey was often in there back in the 80s.

One thing I noticed at the ground was there wasn’t a lot of gaps in the boundary wall for entry and exit. 50+K people was going to be a bit of a squeeze through two medium size gaps. I don’t think they would be profitable when you consider it’s only for a few hours 19 times in 9 months of the year. They’d be competing with the bars and restaurants in the stadium and the food/drink outlets in the fan zone plaza too. If the Liverpool Waters development progresses, they may be more profitable.

Another great video as always, just a quick question, as the video gets to 29 minutes, there is a bus stop across the road from you, is that just a works bus stop, or does it run through the Day.
I do not mean for future match Day travelling fans, but if it is in use now, it could be handy for people to catch a bus from town and get off there, or if mr walkabout is on his future travels, could you point out any bus stops that might at least get us most of the way to Bramley Moore stadium and ideally what the bus numbers are along the route.

Any investment would need to be supported for the entire week. 1 days trade in a fortnight will not work. If a business was worth putting there, it would already be there. Its not even worthy for a defined bus route. I still think the site of the new stadium should have been Walton Park where the Everton Women`s pitch is. Putting the stadium on an industrial site that has just had its ``through route`` taken away. Business that are food outlets need a passing trade to survive, that is why the cafe and bookies are shut..

All they thought was a ``on the river`` site is oh so glamorous and chic. There,,,, its just not. No thoughts for the convenience of the fans at all. Again, video and information superb mate. Some questions.
    1. Ideal for property investment around that area for the future. Plus it would tidy the area up which does need it. Is there a lot of interest regarding this since the stadium has been built?
    2. Regarding the demonstrations, I suspect the police do not want videos posted on social media and people saying all sorts of things that may or may not be true. Sorry but I have heard numerous reasons for the demonstrations and do not really know what they were for? Can you maybe enlighten me regarding this?
    4. Do you think that Everton Football Club and the people who run the ferries might use the West side of the stadium as a drop off point for fans that live across the water? It would be amazing for those people who come to the games on match day only?
Thanks again Nick. I don't live in UK, but can see so much potential for improving the water front of Liverpool which would make it a really neat place to visit. Regarding your comment on filming the stadium, it doesn't compare to actually seeing in person when I visited in June, what a massive and eye boggling structure it is, truly an amazingly big fortress.

      Was there a Point #3? 😉
Re Point #4: no. it's not a financially viable idea, especially as better 'docking' facilities are present a short distance away for 365 days a year. The Mersey Estuary is tidal, shock-horror, so any 'quay' would be a complex build, especially as it would not be allowed to change the Mersey Wall fundamantally either, for all sorts of reasons.

      @nothing-jg7fw Місяць тому

@@davidbadcock2225 Hi David there was a 3, but I made it all 4 forgetting to amend. Regarding the docking facilities, isn't the build putting water back into the bottom of the west stand steps, therefore wouldn't be effected by the tide? Sorry if that a dumb question, as I don't really know the area. It looks like it wouldn't effect boats coming through the lock type entry?

    • @davidbadcock2225

@@nothing-jg7fw Fear not, it's not a dumb question.
Yes, water will return to the channel that used to be the very western end of the old BMD. One of its practical will actually be to allow all the site groundwater and excess rainwater to exit from the hole in the Seacant Wall below the Lower Promenade near the centre of the wall (when looking at the West Stand from over the Mersey Wall it is a little bit to the right/south of centre). However, water connections are not the same thing as being navigable for boats' passage.
The southern Isolation Bridge (Isolation is a major clue!) is the original bridge and it has pipes and valves in it to keep water flow even between BMD and Nelson Dock but it is a solid 'wall', in effect.
The northern Isolation Bridge is a completely new build. It has major cables for the Electrical Grid Network and huge numbers of Digital and Optical Fibre Cables running through it, in three ducts to keep the DNOC on the Western Quay connected to the stadium and the wider world. It will not be moving: it's static. So, whilst water will migrate to and fro a little underneath it, as it is a genuine bridge rather than a wall, it will not permit boats to pass under it. the Dock to the north is Sandon Dock and it belongs to Peel group as part of the Liverpool Ports and it's mostly used to berth their tugs. However the 'locks' at the SW corner of Sandon Half-Tide Dock and NW of the wall beyond BMD can't be used, as they have been made permanent fixtures, rather like a dam. The tugs and all craft have to travel quite a bit further north, through Huskisson Dock and Canada Dock to get to West Langton Dock to get access to the Mersey Estuary. Now, that access point is one of Liverpool Freeport's main access points and there would be absolutely no way that public transport would be allowed to use that access, even IF a ferry company decided the length of time it would take would make sense (it doesn't).
Now, with regard to Nelson Dock to the South, there are no docks remaining with direct access to the Mersey either, as all the entrances have been made into permanent walls. Now having said it's connected to the south to Trafalgar Dock (also no Mersey Access) and thence southwards by a thin stretch of almost-canal (a lot of the old dock had been filled in) down to the Isle of Man Terminal.
In all these dock water connections, it could only be that a minor water taxi service might be provided in future but it would only provide for people who were already on the eastern shore of the Mersey Estuary, not those from the Wirral or further afield and only if some form of dock quay was provided at the SW corner of Sandon or along the northern edge of Nelson Dock.
Take a few moments on Google Earth (start point Bramley-Moore dock) to follow the tracts of largely seawater (brownish water) and freshwater (blueish water), if it's of interest to follow up my comments.

@@davidbadcock2225 Wow, David, thank you so much. It does make sense, you have amazing knowledge of the area. I wondered about water taxi's but I felt that when I was there, that Mersey River flows quite fast when the tide comes in or goes out and noticed the ferries had a battle to dock because of the pressure. So glad I subscribe to this channel, as I have always read your information you have passed on to enquiring minds like me with many questions. Thank you.👌

You saw in Middlesborough one kids about 15 smash up half a dozen cars and houses in his own area not even immigrants. These ferals have been here for years they burnt down our bowls hut and turned the green into a 5 a side pitch.
