- In this video I will show the process of how I became one of the first 75 people in the entire world to get the skeleton curse in Sea Of Thieves Season 8.

presently, this is an impossible goal for me due to a number of factors:
1. I have nowhere near enough stamina to stay in-game on a given day for this to be accomplished in a reasonable timeframe.
2. my aiming and target tracking skills suck, hard.
3. I am, however shameful it is to admit, a part of the PVE-only minority because of my inability to properly engage a hostile sloop.
4. I don't have the expertise to determine if a ship is fair game, a good fight, or (most often) a veteran badass ready to smack my dreams into the dirt faster than a mach 20 meteor.
5. because of the previous 4 points, my confidence in my own PVP capabilities has become imperceptibly low.
Unless a change in my fighting prowess is observed, I cannot and will not engage in combat, instead forfeiting all mortal possessions, leaving the server and denying the actually good player any effort or joy from fighting.

@@Chor-SeaOfThieves sometimes people say that i just need to keep trying, but i feel like there's just something missing from my deck of core principles.
The reason a lot more people have the ghost curse is probably because it only requires pirate legend and level 100 allegiance, but skelly requires level 75 reaper as well as 100 allegiance
75 reaper is way easier that pirate legend
@@sspoosh reaper levels are way slower than regular levels. pre sure getting 75 would take longer than all 3 to 50
the reason more have ghosts is because athenas are sitting in alliances farming free 4v1 wins

I dont like alliance servers but i think the problem is being overhyped

The low amount of people with skeletons curse is partially because the level 75 requirement for reapers bones

I disagree. When you go onto your boat. The hourglass defaults as guardian
The reason people have the ghost curse is because it is on the way to the legendary curse, the coolest curse in the game, and who knows if it's going time limited again
The curses are suppose to be a permanent addition to the game :)
I personally think ghost is way better

@@Chor-SeaOfThieves the down side of the skelly curse is that you cant use your character cosmetic on it.
@@Nolongerinusethx Yes, that's too bad. But there's all the cool customization specifically for it. And they plan on adding more!
Helpful tip: Brigantine battles are easier than sloop battles.
Often you do come across more un-experienced crews in brig battles yes. But queue times are also longer.

@@mcmadbear1514I feel like at this point, loss farming is pretty good, I'm guardian 34 from only 16 opposing ships sunk and the rest is unintentional or intentional losses. A good strategy I heard of for that is: at the start of your session roll D20, if below 10 don't do hourglass, if above 10, roll a D6 to decide how many matches. Also do it again at the end of your session. That way, even if you roll into 6 matches and lose them all, that's still about 65% of a level, and if you do it again, that's a little over a level a day.

I don't think there's a way to check the actual number besides when Rare made that post. But you could try seeing what percent of players have the achievement of getting the skeleton curse on the Xbox app.

I went for ghost curse first because I thought everyone will be going for skeleton, well turns out I was wrong I nearly have ghost anyway so I’ll start the grind for skeleton soon

Wait a minute I have a question if I sign up as a member of the servant of the flame And I sunke a skeleton ship well it still give me a point orange I have to actually kill another player 😶🔥⚔️
You have to sink other players that are representing the opposite faction to get reputation. If you are a servant you have to sink a guardian and if you are a guardian you have to sink a servant. :)

I feel like the skelly curse is pretty meh. None of the curses in the game are great.
I think it's pretty cool, but could definetly use more cosmetic options. Hopefully they release a bunch more in the future.

I fought 9 battles so far and 3 had DA sails (i won against one of them) and the rest were your classic sweaty toxic athenas

Reapers are supposed to be the toxic sweaty edgy ones, and Athena is supposed to be the kind hearted and chill ones, but it's legitimately the opposite reapers are almost always nice while anyone with an athena flag tells me to kill myself
It takes a good bit of matches for your mmr to set properly.
I Played 6 days and got 60 matches, if I've had won all I would not be 100. The secret is live in US or EU and play the game lol

Do the levels get harder to rank up the higher you are along like in the normal factions, or are they all the same?
They get harder as you get closer to 100 then they get easier again. And get harder as you get closer to 200 and so on.

If you clearly see someone else being good, try your best to beat them, while also observing them. Then write down where you went wrong, and where to improve. I often solo sloop, and sucking at PVP, I have to learn more. It's never ending learning curve.

You are correct. At one point getting people to raise hourglass for allegiance didn't work and I assumed it was cause they didn't open the map so I got people to open the map. But I then later realized I just got an allegiance bug. You DO NOT have to get them to open the map :)

I've been aware of that for a while now. I just remember twice sinking people that way without the map being open and not getting xp so I tried that to make sure. But realized it doesn't matter

I realized that a long time ago. But twice I sunk people like that without the map open and didn't get xp cause of a glitch so I tested it to see if it makes a difference but realized it doesn't do anything 🤷🏼♂️

Does it get harder going from level like 20 to 21 compared to level 80 to 81? And also how many wins did it take you to get it? I have like 25 so far started a few days ago with my friend and my highest streak is 7 :)

80 to 81 would be harder than 20 to 21. Also it took me 162 wins 😀
@@Chor-SeaOfThieves were you constantly on a streak or no? Because I usually get around 3 to 5 streak before I'm sunk, so I'm not sure if I'll have to do more matches. Also, did you sell every reaper flag you got?
@@ElseyLC I usually turned in on champion streaks. I also turned in some flags but not as many as I do now, because I got servants 100 before Rare implemented the ability to dive with flags. Back before you could dive with flags I often didn't care enough to go turn in flags after fights unless they were level 5.
