Now if you could do a video on how to copy and paste out of a paper trail guide. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'm having trouble getting Google to accept the coordinates I'm searching for.
Nice & Informative....the fully qualified coordinates they use are not the format that you would enter into a Garmin GPS for autos....any idea on how to get that type format ? For instance we geocache and the GPS coordinates for geocaches can be entered directly into the Garmin and it will provide "driving directions" to the cache.
Hello xdiq, I believe there's a space between the 1 and the 5 that shouldn't be there. If that's the case, when I remove the space and put it into g-maps it takes me to Jicarilla Apache Nation Reservation, Jicarilla, NM.
You type them into the search field. For instance, in this video the coords are: 38.397599, -81.584491 If you type that into the Google Maps search box it will accept that and show you the location on the map.
@@sportster88 My pleasure and if you need to convert a standard coordinate format to a decimal format, this website makes it easy. www.fcc.gov/media/radio/dms-decimal
@@waterman7082 Great, and when you say nothing shows up in the results, are you saying that after you enter GPS coordinates into the search bar that Google Maps can't find the location? If so, could you send me the coordinates you are using? I would like to see if I have the same results or if I can spot something wrong with the coordinate format maybe.
That was really clear and really useful. Thanks Rich.
Thanks for that very kind feedback, I'm glad it was helpful!
Wow, I had no idea you could do this! Very helpful!
One details though, how to manually enter those numbers? Any tips like spacing? How to enter the little degree circle??

What are the coordinates? If you don't mind sharing them.
Figured it out. Coordinates included two apostrophes and a forward slash. My app must not like them. @@WildWonderfulWeekends

Maaannnn I'm a school bus driver and this is really frustrating
Hi Brownbagz... which part is giving you trouble?
This shows you how to copy and paste but doesn't explain how to enter them manually.
You type them into the search field.

@@WildWonderfulWeekends Ok, thanks. Now I know the degree symbols aren't needed.

it doesnt work for me, idk
Strange... which part doesn't work: getting GPS coordinates or entering them into the search field?
Does it give you an error?
NOTHING SHOWS UP. AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH NO ONE TALKS ABOUT THIS STUPID PROBLEM
Nothing shows up where?
