  • I'm a fan of Kruder & Dorfmeister.
We met in 1995 when I was asked to pick them up at the airport and show them around Seattle. They had just become very hot in a particular segment of Music lovers that were emerging worldwide. A mix of Club, Hotel, Travel, Design focused people who found that they liked the same vibe.
It was an interesting time. The Internet was just coming up, DJ Culture became a thing..Magazines were a thing. I played them often on my radio show Wo'Pop on KCMU..now KEXP and at clubs, the reaction was always very positive.
K&D released its first record with the single "High Noon" which became a staple of cool groovy clubs. The track stood out in the mix and when you danced to it it felt great. a nice mix of jazzy and dubby funk that refreshed the dancefloor, a reset. The K&D Sessions followed and the K7 DJ Mix which cemented their place on the DJ Tour.
The New Record "1995" is all the work they did to create a follow-up to the first record and finally, after 25 years it's out. It's been on repeat for me since I got the copy.
    Hope you like the interview.

These gentlemen create by far the best chillout/lounge/downtempo/acid jazz. So cool, so so cool! And Tosca of course!

One of Osterreich’s greatest secrets. Love their music ever since hearing their DJ KICKS mixes and their “G-Stoned” EP.

Thanks Darek, this has made me smile.. Currently stuck in hospital after a serious motorbike crash, 3 weeks in a bed atm. K&D where introduced to me at University, I was hooked into the sound, naturally it was Sessions but wow what a change from the normal crap being played.
But the comment about buying vinyl got me, absolutely, I look at my collection and I know where and when I was, and exactly the fact how much food id be without for that week.
Brilliant, now at 48 life is different, but if I want to go back to the most amazing times of my life.. K&D Sessions or Suzuki go one.
Again, such a great interview, cheered me up - thanks.
    Wow - what amazing memories.
