    this is how I would sell it "just imagine you are signing off on a buisness deal, this has been your goal for a while now. You're dressed up in a nice suit and tie and when you bring out a pen to sign off on your new greatest success. This pen is a little chewed up, the clicker doesnt work on the first try. You try to sign your name but when it doesnt write, you have to shamedly scribble on another paper to get the ink flowing. You finally sign your name and everything is ok, but was that professional? what kind of impression did you leave. Now I want you to imagine the same situation but you, in confidence, pull out this pen, its well designed, you know it will work. You click the ballpoint out, and you sign your name without even looking. You know it works. With the help of this seemingly simple pen, everyone in the room was impressed and your confidence is still in one piece."

      This is what I am thinking as well. Sometimes you can buy what is readily available on the market but most of the time you need to buy a product you can trust. A product that will also exude your confidence on when you trust your pen. It might be just a small part of you but every contracts needs to be signed needs a trusty pen to sign it.

    focus on customer needs(how often do u use a pen, when was the last time you required a pen etc), know about the customer, fetch user requirements and begin by qualities of your pen.

      But in the local or small shops they just sell the pen only in 10/- or 15/-.....why,?????

    when it comes to selling.. then, dont sell.. simply try to convey the message that why you have purchased this pen and give the reason to the person sitting front of you to aspire about that pen.. for example you can try.. Sir/Madam I have this pen because I wanted a pen which writes longer, smooth in writing and doesn't leak in any weather conditions. I expect you too have to do a lot of paperwork and if you want a pen then this pen will be best for you.

    I am a study abroad consultant. How to sell any product. It is very easy. Just collect the USP and present with conviction. The famous quote is Don't sell those products that would not buy.

    I would ask the customer which pen is he using.. Think about an advertisement.. Pick up a few pain points about the product since every product has a pain point and then throw the USP(unique selling point) at the customer and tell him it would not be a liability for him but would be an asset.. Be it a pen or any product.. This would help.. 😄

    First of all say, actually sir/ madam I think you are in a respectable position of your company so you have to a lot of paperwork, isn't it?, So I think you must have a pen. Actually I've a pen for you which is supieror in quality so you can keep on writing 2times longer, the flow of ink is wonderful so you can easily show your creativity on the paper, light in weight.
    Grab it now, and show the world how creative you are.

    i would say: to be a good sales person, we must have a confident and extremely knowledgeable about the product we are selling. I cannot sell you something i don't really know what are the good things about the product, but let me sell you something i am familiar with , then give an example about the product you know very well and know how to sell it:)

    I'm in sales for last 2 years. What my pattern is that I listen to customers needs first. As for answering " Sell me the Pen". First ask does he use pen? If answer is "Yes" ur deal closes there, bcoZ there can be No sale if there is no Necessity. If answer is No, then ask questions, Know his preference, his likes and dislike. Then talk about your product.

    Hi sir
    You do a lot of stuff daily, right? But have you ever made different decision? A decision that is not normal? That will remain in your memories forever?
    So i have this opportunity for you to take a different decision today. You might be using a pen better than what i am offering, but think about making this decision of buying a pen during an interview. You cannot deny the fact that this will be there in your memory forever that you bought a pen while taking a job interview.
    This would be my answer.
    Very important thing about selling anything anywhere in this world is - Customers never identify good or bad in first go because its the manufacturing company or the owner who knows the process, R&D and all stuff behind the product. Customer purchase on the basis emotions.
    In child hood we use to have this magic pencil that a boy uses in a show to get what he desires...what happened we convinced our parents to that pencil for us anyhow, just on the emotional connect that yes this was similar to what was shown in that TV Show.

    how to sell a pen? ask someone if they have a pen, if they do, there’s no point selling that pen to them, go out and do your market research and find your target audience (assuming the audience that do not have pens) therefore, if you find them, boom you can sell your pens. no point wasting time selling a pen to someone who already has one. Time management.

    actually there is no exact answer to sell me this pen question it is used to see how you behave with your clients and if youre capable of handling the sales job so it is a tricky question and it depends on everyone's reaction

    I say to interviewer I have thick & long black pen , which has ink in white color sometimes in lighter yellow also.This pen u would get in the Uttrakhand only. So try this atleat once. U will only crave for this black pen for ever.

    I am telling the customer the need for the pen. I give a blank page to HR and says him or her that suppose you think that its a big deal for your company. If you do not sign it now then you lost the opportunity. And now in that condition,, you don't have a pen. That is the need of this pen which I try to shell.

      Don't sell them a pen, sell them THAT pen. But above all else, you're not selling a pen per say; you're selling your abilities to sell the pen. Find out how often they use pens, what they use it for, how often they can even remember the brand of the pens they use. You need to find out what, why, and how. Only then can you convince them to buy your product.
      For example, if they're a manager, they likely use pens a LOT; and they're probably using them to sign deals, business paperwork, contracts, agreements, amendments, etc etc. Meaning you should then start feeding into their requirement for a pen that serves their job purpose. If their job is in sales, then the pen is one of the most important aspects of their career. So convince them so. Convince them that the pen is one of the most important tools of their job and that YOUR pen is the pen that is the one they need serve as their divine tool.

      Rap God I gave the same approach and answered the question in an interview.       Kenneth is on the right track! Consultative sales or value based selling in a nut shell is asking the customer in depth questions that can uncover opportunities for you to position your product. For example, " in your day to day business operations how often do you use your pen?" potential buyer: " I use it everyday to take notes and sign legal documents." Sales person: " when you're taking notes is it typically in a meeting?" customer response yet, sales: " have you ever interrupted a business meeting because your pen broke, ran out of ink or you just forgot it ?" etc.... As a true consultative sales person you want to ask the right questions, if you do this, the customer will sell themselves.
      I highly recommend Challenger Sales as well as Spin Selling.

    You cannot sell anything to anyone like that.. There should be a need for that product... If not then u should be quite good in generating that need.. Selling is secondary

    Sir we have variety of pens but this one is different it will b little expensive but good quality and will suit you personality and i will show him my pen sir i got the chep one also but it will not suit you the pen is not just for writing it will b seen by your team mates and your employees when you sign some documents and if you use the cheapest pen you know what comments you listen at your back...
