Doc Holliday and the Earp brothers had a shoot out against the Cowboys, who were a gang that would rustle cattle, which is where their name came from, in the end they killed two of the cowboys and the cowboys retaliated by ambushing the Earp brothers and killing one and wounding another, leading Wyatt Earp to go out and execute his famous vendetta
@@monferno1 And if I recall what little I learned correctly, its actually questionable who was the instigator of the shootout. I believe only one of the Cowboys was actually confirmed as armed, so its possible that Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday actually went with the full intention of killing the Cowboys.
Even though Tombstone Arizona doesn't look like what is portrayed in the video, you can't look past the fact that a Swedish metal band decided to pay homage to historical events that took place there. Thanks for a great song and for paying tribute to the men that tamed the west!
Cult Mechanicus I think the joke he was trying to make was that he was searching for the band but only found documentaries about the historical Civil War instead. That's how I took it at least.

Holy shit, I just discovered these guys. I was like, "Where have I heard that voice before?" Looked them up and found, "Oh yeah! Astral Doors!" Where the hell have they been all my life? This song kicks all the ass in every dimension in history. Fucking fantastic!
waiting for this album here in Chile, just like the previous CD I shopped. This band is my new weakness. I hope to see them in CHile soon. Civil War kick asses to a lot of others bands ¡¡¡
С этой композиции мне открылся невероятный богатейший метал-мир Нильса Патрика Юханссона. Четвёртый год практически один только он в плеере, и эта песня так и не приелась
As if the main singer was Karel gott, for us from the Czech Republic he gave a lot of himself and was really good ..I can hear him completely 1:03 etc I really like you guys, keep it up : *
Touring and concerts are very demanding. When you come to a certain age you might want to spend more time home with family. He will keep playing wih Astral Doors and this is good news.
His age is prolly past 60 and at such an age you don t think anymore at the "bright future". He said he wants to be with his family and can t afford so much touring and stress anymore.
Damn I love these guys I remember getting Powerwolf tickets, and then I found Bay of Pigs, and I felt shit that I didn't get Chiil War tickets. Turned out they opened for Powerwolf, and I only found out on the day of the concert.
Don't listen to the main "chorus"/bass heavy parts of the song ina car with actual SUBWOOFER speakers. My friends speakers BROKE bc of it. Was kinda funny tho. We got a big laugh from it
You are not. Real shootout was the three Earps with Holliday against 2 Clanton brothers and 2 Mclaury brothers. Earps and Holliday survived, Holliday died years later from tuberculosis.
Correct! We couldn't afford more extras though. :P And how fun would it be to see someone re-enacting 3minutes and 30 seconds of someone dying of tuberculosis?
Well, I totally love the song (second only to Savannah on the album!), but why on earth let the Earps shoot at Hollyday in the clip - I mean, the shootout at Tombstone was Hollyday and the three brothers Earp versus four cowboys, with three dead along the cowboys and none on the side of the sheriffs. It is the stuff you could use to make an even better clip by actually portraying reality :D
It was a dark afternoon with a chill wind blowin' through the graveyard town, and none of these items were what bothered the bespectacled man by the window. Doc Holliday had a very lousy day, one might say...
essa banda fez eu me tornar um fanático por esse estilo de metal , já curtia mt varias bandas desse gênero , mas esses monstros ae vieram pra arrebentar
I had heard of Civil War, but for some reason never really checked it out. I was actually searching for a documentary on the Civil War, and this came up; "Well, let's check"... at 0.38 followed by "Fuck me! This is great!"
civil war has established itself as a band with quite powerful themes.
This song is the sample of that. I can listen to hours and hours.

Doc Holiday didn't die at OK Corral. He died in a sanatorium from TB in Colorado in 1887.

His voice is awesome!
Good video doe! Loved the visuals.
How can you guys stand that voice?

One hell of a guitar solo there.
This basically American folk metal and i LOVE THIS

“Why are those Swedes dressed like the last war just sitting there as bullets fly between us?”
The singer has strong Wuthering Heights vibes... and hot damn, do I love it! On the "Salt" album, specifically. Such memories!
Maybe because the singer (Nils Patrick Johannson) *is* the singer from Wuthering Heights 🤘😉
Holy shit, this is good.
the moment when I am trying to look for civil war songs but instead start learning the civil war history.

That takes skill for a band to come up with a song about a gunfight while it goes on around them.

The Swedes like to make songs about the history of other countries(Civil War and Sabaton). This song is very good, I'm addicted.
I love the part where it goes "And there's no hammer high this is a freedom cry"
