I’m 76 yrs old and I watch every black and white films I can find. But this delightful gem I’d never seen. We will never get those day of innocence back, thank goodness we have these films to step back for a short time and remember.
Amen
Me too ever since I was a child. I’m 25❤
I’m another one, I’m 74, every day I watch at least 4 b&w movies, loving them all, yesterday I saw one titled “Driftwood “ with Natalie Wood as child, I loved it , and cried , it was beautiful
I'm 55 from Brazil and agree with all about it.
Me too I grew up in a small town on Trixie Belden books and TCM and I’m a Millennial. Then when I met the real world I wished I could have been born in those days instead.
Now that's a Cinderella story❣❣❣ Thank you❤
👠
One of the BEST movies I've ever seen in my 73 years on this earth! Superb. I love old movies, even in black and white---awesome! Thank you for sharing this delightful production!

Just remember her singing ‘Ol’ Danny Boy’. Made me cry every time.
She was without doubt blessed by God with the voice of an Angel.
I always have loved her singing voice.
Wow, I've been seriously searching for this movie for years. Then it pops up on my UA-cam feed ❤ you've made my day. From a Deanna Durbin fan ❤😊
I bought this DVD without any difficulty. Google it…..
Her talent and movies were always handled in a very fine way. All of it lasting beyond the lives of those who made it possible.
So amazing to see Robert Stack at only 20 years of age! Wow. He actually got better looking as he got older.
He’s a Capricorn. Cappies are renowned for growing “younger” as they age. Are “older” as children…….
I agree. Much much better.
Non, il était déjà très beau à 20 ans. 😊
@@anastasiatselos4964 maybe he had some work done. Hollywood is famous for that.
He’s in a great movie with Jane Powell and Elizabeth Taylor called “A date with Judy.” If you haven’t seen it i highly recommend, he’s about the same age as in this film and it’s the cutest movie
I love Deanna Durbin and her movies make me feel so happy
Robert Stack has been a very handsome gentleman, I really like his acting!
Always loved watching Deanna’s movies my three favorites are this one of course. Three Smart Girls and It Started With Eve I gave her a lot of credit she walked away when she was on top n lived a nice life with third husband ( third times a charm) in France n two children 👍🏻 she earned that love when these golden classics are shown on utube n thank God not colorized
I just realized remember Deanna Duran sounds voice was looking good so much it's looks really good
@pamplayer4086 Me too I always feel happy watching Deanna Durbin movies my mom loved this movie plus It Started With Eve. I wish I had written a fan letter to her years before I found out she passed away in 2013. I discovered in 2006 when I went to my local library and checked out the Sweetheart Pack for the first time. I have many favorite Deanna Durbin films Something In The Wind First Love It Started With Eve Can't Help Singing Lady On A Train Because Of Him Mad About Music The Amazing Mrs Holliday It's A Date I'll Be Yours and For The Love Of Mary
I just realized remember Deanna Duran sounds like very good news about biography history channel interview with oasr awesome picture awards TCM hollywood movies on TV's show episode season start with 90s more episodes
@@derekllewellyn6663 Her movies were made during The Great Depression which is awesome because they saved Universal from bankruptcy. I always watch her films when I need something to put me in a great mood.
I love old movies.😍 I'm glad it wasn't colorized too! Thanks for the upload.💜🥰
She had such a beautiful voice. Mr. Stack was such such a delight. The whole cast was so great. I'm glad I found it.
Sweet movie. Miss DD is absolutely in a class of her own.
All the Dianna Durbin films are wonderful. Especially the grand architectural sets help develop the story. Notice all the great staircases and the huge palaces great room. Kathleen Howard is gives a great performance as the Head Mistress at the school. She herself, earlier in her career was an opera singer. For you Fan Buffs...in the scene with the spinster teachers crying from 1:22:54 to 1:24:59 Was that Beulah Bondi wearing clear eyeglasses and Jesse Royce Landis? What a fantastic treat for us!!!! An all around great cast. An all around great movie.
Makes me long for an age that is long gone.My mum adored Deanna D.Never seen a film of hers before...very sweet 😊
Thank you for uploading this movie!!
Absolutely wonderful! Thank you!
Watched this film many times as a kid on a show called “ Million Dollar Movie” in New York on channel 9. They would play a movie at 4pm and 9 pm Monday_ Friday and 3 x a day on Saturday and Sunday. That’s how we learned to love old movies back in the 60’s. Durban led many young kids to appreciate classical singing.
Oh my yes I remember the million dollar movie in New York on channel 92… Haven’t thought about that in years
I'm 69 years old and grew up in the Jersey suburbs.
The "Million Dollar Movie" was a big deal. People would ask "What's on the MDM this week?".
And I would watch the movies over & over again and memorize the dialog. Then act it out in our living room.
I'm in my mid 60's & truly appreciate your memories from your days back East. I'm a West Coast gal through n through. We learned to appreciate the classics, 1st in Español in Black & White, then in English, back in the 60's. I've loved these classics throughout & now that Technology has somewhat dampened our ability to have regular TV, I'm so grateful for DVD player, YT & Tubi. Bless everyone for sharing n peace be with us all. 🙏 "Isa"
I remember NY Million Dollar Movie too.
Sweet and surprisingly moving modern Cinderella story. Delightful.
GREAT MOVIE AND SINGING WAS OUTSTANDING.
Magic!
I love the song she sings at the Ball called Spring In My Heart
How beautiful life was that time!…
When the war was about to start?
Just what my week needed!
Great movie. Thank you very much.
LOVED THIS MOVIE 🍿 🎥 🍿
This is one of my favorite Deanna Durbin movies plus my it was my mom’s second favorite Deanna film next to It Started With Eve
A Really cute movie, Robert Stack was adorable when he was young, Deanna Durbin was quite charming, very enjoyable retelling of Cinderella and Prince Charming... :-)
Omgosh, now that is a beautiful Throw Back Cinderella movie ever! Gracias Gracias! "Isa" ❤ 🙏

The uncle's children reminds me of this generation.😊
.. cute Cinderella 👑 movie
Voice of an angel and so beautiful wonderful film
God bless Deanna Durbin! One of Hollywood's famous actresses. She knows how to sing! Deanna was chosen to play Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz 1939. Robert Stack such a wonderful actor. He plays in another film with Deanna called 'It's a Date'.
Ty ❤
First time seeing this film for me.
I love old movies, thoroughly enjoyed this one.
R. I. P Deanna what an amazing voice and beauty
Thank you*!*!*!* ☄️❤️💝💘✨😍💌
Absolutely blubbering my eyes out !
The voice of an Angel ❤❤❤
WOW !

Iam still crying 😢
Robert stack was a stunner 😍
It's looks good
Well, Well, Mr.R Stack how sweet!! 😊😘
Beautiful! Thank you!
Robert stack is nearly unrecognizable, he looks like a baby compared to his regular older self
Grazie mille per avermi richiamato denna durbin attrice preferita di Anna Frank nel suo diario ❤❤❤
YES. Fairy tales DO come True. Love, Love, Love Deanna Durbin.
I love this movie, but I have a hard time with Deanna’s hair. I know it was current to the day, but very unflattering to pretty Deanna. Great voice. Really enjoy her movies.
Deanna's hair was beautiful in Hers to hold and It started with eve.She was at her most beautiful in those two movies
How did I miss this movie over the years?
Love classic movies
People back then they dressed so beautiful
Robert Stack & my grandfather use to double date when they we're in the navy together.
So great o see these films that are quality prints.
Golden age of Hollywood when people had talent
SPOILER ALERT!!!
Double Deanna Durbin!
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
A wonderful movie that cleverly follows the Cinderella fable. Ms Durbin was a huge movie star and this film shows why. She saved Universal Pictures from bankruptcy. But it is Kathleen Howard as Miss Wiggins who is the real treasure. A world famous opera star and then fashion editor, she is immortalized as WC Fields' nagging wife. She gets the last shot here--deservedly.
WOW!!! what a great movie!❤❤
Bravo!
me thinking Connie and Barbara were same actress entire movie.
WOW great special effects for 1939.
History of love ❤️🙏
Never realised that Deana had English parents before
❤AW........what a lovely little film.😘
I must say, I cried my eyes out…..
What to say ? 1939, how far in time and space from now. Deanna Durbin is a woman, classy, smart, and authentic, a person of her time. No put down. If I vent about barbaric society today we'd need fumigation.
This is one of my favorite films of Deanna Durbin plus my mom loved this one and It Started With Eve. In This one me and my mom's favorite part is where the father kicks his son's out the door and we love it when she sings Amapola
Nobody’s mentioned the shocking way the father puts his house in order! Divine retribution!lol. They certainly deserved it.
lovely movie, thanks . OLD FILM ALL HAD GOOD FEEL FACTOR. These days loads of rubbish ,angry , do what you can to get what you want ,to hell with the rest. Film makers nowadays have a lot to answer for all violence , rudeness, etc
It truly amazes me; how they could make wonderful movies without "BAD Language". I watch all the "old" movies I can get. I do not watch any movie with "bad" language in it... The new movies may have great plots and dialogue, and then they destroy it by adding foul language into it.
Lovely Lovely Movie 🎥 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
I prefer classic movies than the present right now im 16 btw 💞
The uncle's children reminds me if this generation... cute Cinderella movie
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Agreguen más películas de Deanna Durbin ❤, si es posible TODAS
it's in the stars, blame it on Venus
Eugene pallette the father bears a striking resemblance to Edward Arnold also the acting demeanor is so similar.
superbe film tres grande chanteuse et actrice un plaisir pour les oreilles de l entendre chantée je l avais vu ce film dans ma jeunesse trés beau souvenir ils devraient nous passés des films comme cela à la télévision ça nous changerais des films de maintenant
A cute film with an interesting array of actors in supporting roles, including silent film stars Leatrice Joy, Doris Lloyd, and Jack Mulhall, as well as Marcia Mae Jones, Bess Flowers, and a favorite of mine, Mary Treen as the maid. It's sweet how the servants show Connie more affection than her own relatives.
Fabuloso 1:24:43
Sweet Cinderella version 😊
The family is like my man godfrey!
actresss from golden age women who had class
You dopes. The image you are using is Robert Stack and Helen Parrish. That is NOT Deanna Durbin. These channels with their ignorance make me crazy.
Helen Parrish was a real beauty and she was perfect in her role in this film. Helen who made several films with Deanna, died at the age of 35. And while so many people know of Deanna, I'm so glad that at least she gets some recognition with her picture in the thumbnail.
My mum was taunt singing by nuns in the 1930s and said of her voice it was like deannas
It sad some of those actor died young...Lewis Howard who play Walter here, killed himself by gun. Strange suicide and cancer seem...
