    Recently I restored one mechanical Pierce ladies tank watch. And, I just loved it.

    Rob, thanks for the thoughtful review on this VERY under appreciated brand! Outstanding video editing as always!
    Hope you hang on to this one as it's dial & hands are in pristine condition.

      Thanks Matt! So kind of you ( in more ways than one). It’s never leaving my collection!

    Thank you for posting this. I love mine. I have the mono pusher and based on my research the earliest advertisement is from June 1936. So they date as early as 1936. It was advertised as the Four In One watch and sold for $19.95

      Mine is getting serviced as we speak. It needed cleaning. But I was happy to pay to keep it going.

    I cant believe it wet for so much I inherited this watch in 2008. I never priced it before. I think my uncle got it when he was in the Korean war.

      Unfortunately, I had to sell this one on for parts. They have a movement that is difficult to service. I had a local watchmaker make it worse. I reached out to a hand full of watchmakers who others had referred me to. They no longer were working on Pierces either!

      @@MountainStandardTime as far as I can tell the one I have works fine. I only use it on rare occasions and it keeps time through the night.

    i recently got a one button Pierce from an old lady whos father was a aviator veteran from ww2, it runs smoothly even after 80+ years. that's badass swiss quality, but it has no wriststrap anymore, any info on wich ones where used originally?

      Wow! Congratulations! Your timing is great! Fratello Watches just came out with an article about Pierce Watches with some good historical advertisements. It looks like they originally came on leather straps. But I put mine on an admiral grey NATO strap and I think it compliments it well too! Here's the article: www.fratellowatches.com/tbt-the-beloved-and-hated-pierce-chronographe-cal-134/#gref

      @@MountainStandardTime okay thank you for the info,m goin to take a look and concider the given options. I think your right about the natowrist, im gonna let servicing the watch first tho like ive read in one of the comments and its hardly readable due to age, also a copper plate, its darkened a lot.

    I would like to own a Pierce watch. They're selling them on Ebay but how do I know I'm getting the real thing or a fake?

    • @MountainStandardTime
      @MountainStandardTime  Рік тому

      I wouldn’t worry about fakes. I’d worry about poor redials. Good luck!

      No one is faking Pierce watches as their movement is in house. Finding one running or someone to service it will be an issue.

    Great watch but nato strap doesn't suit the watch!

      A watch issued by the Royal Air Force near the end of WWII not appropriate for a NATO?

    • @stevewilliams5428
      @stevewilliams5428 Рік тому +1

      @@MountainStandardTime The NATO strap wasn't introduced until 1973, but really who cares? It's your watch to do as you wish with. The Pierce movement is a little unique as the clutch washer is made of leather, when it wears out it's very difficult to replace.

      @@stevewilliams5428 thanks. It’s in for service now. The first watchmaker I tried couldn’t fix it even after buying a donor watch. I’m waiting for a second watchmaker estimate now. Didn’t they have nylon straps in WWII for dirty dozen watches?

    • @stevewilliams5428
      @stevewilliams5428 Рік тому +1

      @@MountainStandardTime The WWII straps were canvas, sometimes but rarely leather. The issue watches were fixed lug as that was the standard required. Originally the straps were simple bands, it wasn't until later that they had the buckles and doubled under. There are many sellers that claim the nylon NATO was used earlier than it was...But they are trying to sell them.
