D, the syllables "ge" and "gi" are pronounced as you pronounce the H in words like "hell" (other examples would be "hill" "hippie", "Hitler", "heaven", etc). So "ángel" is pronounced "an-hell" (no ankel) 😅. I hope you understand all my verbiage 😬

Hi D! They started in 1982 so in 1996 they were already super famous in all latinoamerican countries. This was part of their MTV unplugged (but plugged) called "Comfort y música para volar".
when G is followed by "e" or "i" is pronounced like a "j", similar sound to "h" in "have". When it is followed by "ue" or "ui", the "u" is mute and is pronounce like the "G" in "get". For the rest of the vowels, "a", "o" or "u" (by itself), is pronounced like "G" in "get". I hope it will help you.

1:05 J in Angel sounds similar to he, it's not a K sound, it's a sound like in "he", "hell" or "have". I think it's hard for English speakers to pronounce it exactly as we Spanish speakers do

Hey buddy I'm surprised you're missing the point that this is an MTV unplugged. During the 90s only the greatest bands were invited to play an acoustic show. So no, they were already at the pinnacle by then and had released what was to be their last ever studio album.
They were so big by then that they only agreed to play on condition that it be a plugged unplugged. MTV caved , lucky for us. The picture quality itself would be a clue as to the age of the recording as well. Data aside, chuffed as always to see you continue on your Soda journey.

This epic concert was only a year after their last studio album Sueño Stereo ("Stereo Dream") of 1995; and 7 of 13 songs they played on this concert are versions of songs in Sueño Stereo, as promotion to their last album.
Esto fue en MTV Unplugged en 1996 luego de sacar su último album de estudio, "Sueño Stereo" y ya eran muy famosos. Ellos comenzaron por 1983-1984 tocando en pubs y discos. Estás en lo cierto en la pronunciación de "Angel" es como una "H", algo así, pero es una fonética que creo que no existe en tu idioma, al igual que la "R". Un abrazo!

Soda didn't want to do an acoustic show. Due to the inmense popularity of the band in Latin America, for the first time MTV agreed to produce it with wired instruments. This was supposed to be a classic MTV Unplugged. But Soda was so special that was allowed to break the rules.

They split in 1997 right after they gave a famous "farewell" series of last concerts ending in Buenos Aires. Then they reunited in 2007 and did an extensive Latin American (and including the US) Tour (in spanish "Gira") "Me verás volver" (you'll see me come back)
this 1996 MTV (pseudo-)unplugged concert is the culmination of a successful career. They formed in '82 and by '88 they were the most successful latin american rock band.
Hi! That was for a MTV special show, in a TV studio in Miami, USA: a unplugged presentation almost at the end of their existence as a band. After this, they went to their Último Concierto (Last Concert Tour) in 1997, a farewell tour. Ten years after, In 2007, they reunited in the Me Verás Volver tour, in stadiums across all Latin America, Included some shows in USA (Los Angeles and Miami).

No, G in this case would sound like the H in the word Hell... Think about it like AnHell = Angel.
The letter G has 2 sounds depending on where is positioned and what letter is followed by:
1. A word starting with G followed by an A, O, or U sounds exactly in the same way you say Gustavo or Get in English.
2. A word starting with G followed by an E or I sounds similar to the H in the word Hell but a bit harder,
These same two rules are applied if the G is in the middle of a word. Aguacate = Avocado sounds like the G in Gustavo. Agitar = agitate, would sound similar to the H in hell or hit.
