His handsomeness, the casual clothing, the flip flop, the unpretentiousness of it all. Honestly, BOP.
It was a spontaneous performance. Jakub and the pianist were in a radio interview (and dressed for radio) when they were asked to fill in for another musician at this lunchtime concert in Aix en Provence in France. There was no time to change so they did this totally off the cuff.

I just saw an interview with him. He said he was invited to sing, last minute, and the personne hiring him said "don't worry about dressing up, it's going to be on the radio". I was there too and totally agree
This is a truly timeless human being, he looks and sounds as if he just stepped down from the heavens and out of a Renaissance painting. I don’t know how to make sense of it but listening to him sing, it feels like centuries just melt away, and this raw, longing, fundamentally human emotion stretches all the way back through thousands of generations.

Well put. 👏
Just because he’s white doesn’t mean he came down from the heavens smh
@hm hm hilarious 😂,... but detracts a wee bit from op's glorious comment, saturated with illustrative descriptions of decadence, & etc.. and we don't want thattttt.😅😎 jm
When I first listened to him I also got a sense of the many previous generations. I'm half Polish, in recent years I've been researching my Polish family's and country's history. Of course every nation's history is full of all kinds of events. I discovered oppression, centuries of war, heart breaking vileness, loss, heaviness. Listening to him it was as though their experiences were somehow there with him, coming through him. And it was a salve, as if their experiences and what they fought for helped bring the opportunities for living in peace, joy, and developing innate talents was realised in a great part in this young man bringing such purity, heavenly, uplifting, beautiful blessings to the world.
03:13 gives me chills. I am jealous of those people who can see him perform live.

Asumi Fuurin Best observation
@Asumi Fuurin There was a time when countertenors or male altos were called the funny voice department. Not any more. Voice training techniques have changed for the better and has given us this glorious voice. Isn't he sublime?
It's just a falsetto with disciplined air pressure control. I used to think there was some magic quality countertenors had that no other male singers had, but anybody, even a bass, can be a countertenor.
I mean, I don't say that to take away from your point that it's difficult to achieve this level of virtuosity or musicality, but I really think a lot of people think the countertenor range itself is more complicated than it actually is.
Too chicken to make my own recordings, but after about five months of practicing controlling my falsetto I believe I can sing competently arias written for Altos in their original pitches, and it's actually easier and less physically straining than singing in my natural register, bass.

thank you very much for this beauty God bless you amen
If beauty had a name, a face, a voice... Beauty would be him in person.
But with a longer pair of pants
What a lovely comment that was
Saint Nerd those are nice summer pants
For the story, he wasn't supposed to sing, he ran out of his hotel room to help out. No one would seriously wear those summer pants.
Hi Ingrid; How right you are. He is a direct incarnation of _______ ________ .
You can tell it because he's actually listening to voices only he can hear, voices long silent upon this earth. (Here comes the future !!! again.)
and….many thanks to the pianist, he played this very fine ! !
vrai
and in flip-flops no less‼️ #Amazed! 🙏🏻
Yes, this performance is actually better than his album recording, probably because he is relaxed and his friend is at the piano and he knows ever y Nuance of his friend's playing.
@@proverbs31woman14 - the same arguably goes for Jaroussky's take on this piece; there's a live recording on here somewhere (or there used to be, haven't checked in a while) that's, IMO, vastly superior to what's on his "Heroes" album. Something to do with actually performing to an audience in addition to a mic, I suppose.
Yes, you have a point there. I have performed live, and also in a recording studio, and recording in a studio, I can tell you that no matter how many times you do it, it always has a stilted awkward feel. You have a group of studio people staring at you through a booth. You usually are wearing headphones so you hear your voice in your head and it sounds off. When you perform live, it is almost always better! You get energy from the audience and you are performing for them. It's quite different.
You may not understand the libretto in Italian. You may not know anything about this character, Anastasio, in Il Guistino, or the circumstance where he sings this aria.
But you felt everything you need to know in this performance, didn’t you? His undying love for his fiancée, Arianna, piercing pain and despair in his heart as he prepares for battle, fully aware that he may never see her again.
In addition to his phenomenally beautiful voice, Mr. Orlinski’s ability to let us feel every minute nuance in the libretto (e.g., the way he sings/sighs the word ‘sospirero [I will sigh]’) and breathe life into the written words is nothing short of magic.
Beautiful!! I can hear him all day long 👏😊❤️
nobody notices the pianist - he's great also.
I think EVERYONE taking a closer look notices the pianist: Jakub can only reach that level because he is accompanied by someone who knows to read him fully and who has his total trust, bringing forward the best in him.
Mark Zuckerberg is a rather solid brand! ;)
Alphonse Cémin - Pianist & Composer
And the page-turner tapping the iPad. Just a wonderful juxtaposition of everything.
He got hyped by Józef at the end
This guy is also a good break-dancer, always so admirable to see people with so much talent not sticking to just one thing.
Sounds and looks like an angel
Que dire ... ??? Mes yeux sont humides ... c'est une voix d'ange qui arrive, se pose sur Terre ... Vivaldi est divin !

The veins on his neck tells the true story of the effort
Every time.. while I hear this, I feel alive as if something divive on this made me remember how life should feels like, I rejoice as if I was contemplating by hearing the pure beauty. I'm eternally grateful for this.
Tbh, them dressing casual actually makes this even more majestic. Reminds us that normal people, made of flash, can do amazing things.
sometimes, when i'm too numb and depressed to feel like living, i come watch this video and it cracks my heart open a little, and lets some warmth and beauty in
Thank you for the idea! I will do the same!
Exactly why I am back here today bro!
The human condition
Oh, Yes! This beautiful and gifted angel works miracles!!
@@rotsteineva An angel sent to us to remind us there will always be hope , God bless you Jacub and stay safe, we love you.
Every tragic anime ever… condensed into 5 minutes of aria perfection
Maravillosa voz angelical...
This man has the face of a prince.
What a prince? The dead singer?
Angel face 😍🤩
ok so God has its favorites

as a mediocre pleb member i would confirm that :( That's why there is only a few heroes in Homer epics, and the rest are the background
Yeah ikr? Where do we lodge complaints for the obviously unequal distribution of assets?
You can say "His," it's really okay to do that.
