An unbelievable throwback! Jerome racking up 143 yds w/ 1 TD rushing & 1 TD passing, all with the Steelers' D throwing down 10 sacks on Brad Johnson & the Tampa Bay offense. Joey Porter had arguably the best game of his career with 4 sacks!
A game unique to the era, with Kordell, Ward and Bettis all making their mark, seems like yesterday these games happened.

The Steelers have so many in the hall, but any Steeler fan from this era knows that Hines was as valuable if not the most valuable as any player from that time.
His stats would have been ridiculous had he played on a passing offense. He’s still my all time favorite Steeler!

The Paper Champions game. Tomlin was on staff for the Buccaneers for this game. When Tomlin became head coach, Hines Ward used to needle Tomlin with the Paper Champions game to get under Tomlin's skin.

The Steelers' Defense really put themselves into the nightmares of Brad Johnson with this one..
An unbelievable defensive unit in 01' it's a shame they werent able to piece it all together for a ring. Porter laying down 4 sacks w/ the rest of the unit adding another 6 is incredible...

I knew so much from this game. Got to see the highlights of the game right after it happened. But didn't get to see the game because "another game" took precedent due to contractual obligations.
Glad I finally got to see a big chunk of it. Think the Brttis RD run may be the most pumped up I've seen Cowher get over the years. Love it

The Steelers played in a murderers row division in the AFC Central with the Ravens and Titans. Even the Jaguars played tough.
I think they were more than ready for the Bucs Defense.

This was just after not only did Pittsburgh, but the Buccaneers get a brand spanking new stadium. And the buccaneers changed their ungodly ugly colors from that almost florescent Orange and, well other orange? This was about the time that Tony Dungy. Who was both a Steelers player, but an assitant coach there for a while. Got the starting job in Tampa. Tony, along with Monty Kiffen built a great defence that would land them a SB title not long after this.

Joey. Gildon, were beasts. I miss these days. Kordell was young. But, With Hines, Amos, Jerome, Buress, Edwards & Tuman. the play calling could have been better. This was the last game in the states I saw before going to Desert storm.

In a weird scheduling quirk because of the NFL's realignment in 2002, the Steelers had to play the Bucs in Tampa again the following year. I lived right outside of Tampa at the time, and there was a tremendous Steeler fan base down there.

bro for some reason idk why i dont see your videos when u post them unless i go to the channel itself and check for what u have posted etc. however speaking on this game bro i remember this game because Sapp and company talked big trash about how they was gonna shut down the Bus and we see how that turned out. I wish the mic'd up version of this game was still around because Jerome laid into them big time. Porter said after the game that they could have sacked them 10 times or more.
