An unbelievable throwback! Jerome racking up 143 yds w/ 1 TD rushing & 1 TD passing, all with the Steelers' D throwing down 10 sacks on Brad Johnson & the Tampa Bay offense. Joey Porter had arguably the best game of his career with 4 sacks!
A game unique to the era, with Kordell, Ward and Bettis all making their mark, seems like yesterday these games happened.

I truly miss the Chin🥲🥲🥲
4:53 The Bus Is In The Passing Lane
Brings back great memories watching these Cowher coached teams.
How is Hines Ward not in the Hall of Fame yet?
They couldn't fit his smile on his bust
He should be in for His defence alone. Not to mention they changed the rules of the game because of his aggressiveness🎉🎉😂😂😂
The Steelers have so many in the hall, but any Steeler fan from this era knows that Hines was as valuable if not the most valuable as any player from that time.
His stats would have been ridiculous had he played on a passing offense. He’s still my all time favorite Steeler!
Let us remember that Hines Ward has 1000 catches in the NFL during his career @@shaneknight44
A pity. But doubtful he makes it. Blasted too many careless cornerbacks and linebackers.
Great to hear Dick Enberg. I hate to be one of them, but the announcers of this era imo were so much better than anyone today.
12:33 Dan Dierdorf almost sounds like John Madden, including the telestrator.
@@peacefrog0521 Loved those guys. Madden was a legend. Today the guys just never shut up.
His announcing went back to the 70s he was there when it was affirmed king of American sports
The Paper Champions game. Tomlin was on staff for the Buccaneers for this game. When Tomlin became head coach, Hines Ward used to needle Tomlin with the Paper Champions game to get under Tomlin's skin.
I remember living in Tampa and putting the newspaper sports page in my locker from the Tampa Tribune that was titled "sinking ship".
memories.
The Steelers' Defense really put themselves into the nightmares of Brad Johnson with this one..
An unbelievable defensive unit in 01' it's a shame they werent able to piece it all together for a ring. Porter laying down 4 sacks w/ the rest of the unit adding another 6 is incredible...

Our time was coming. You could see the championship DNA being forged.
Another episode from the Yinzburgh classic edits. thanks for this
Had a flashback. Kordell threw beautiful pass's at times and it made me remember why Cowher kept believing in him.
GREAT THROWBACK!!! Ahh, memories 😉👍✌️
You are the best! Those were some great times, thank you for allowing us to relive it thru your channel!
Thank you for coming to watch anything I upload 🖤💛 You’re the best
I knew so much from this game. Got to see the highlights of the game right after it happened. But didn't get to see the game because "another game" took precedent due to contractual obligations.
Glad I finally got to see a big chunk of it. Think the Brttis RD run may be the most pumped up I've seen Cowher get over the years. Love it
Qb bettis > Prime Ben
I remember watching this game. Remember they had a lot to say about the bus not being able to run down south....& how they thought they were so cute, making us wear black in the Florida dun. I also remember Lee Flowers epic rant after we steamrolled them.😂😂😂
The Steelers played in a murderers row division in the AFC Central with the Ravens and Titans. Even the Jaguars played tough.
I think they were more than ready for the Bucs Defense.
Several experts thought Tampa would cruise to an easy win. Brad Johnson was really a statue
Loved those 10 sacks . Great defense...#1😎
Keep up the good work👍🏻
This was just after not only did Pittsburgh, but the Buccaneers get a brand spanking new stadium. And the buccaneers changed their ungodly ugly colors from that almost florescent Orange and, well other orange? This was about the time that Tony Dungy. Who was both a Steelers player, but an assitant coach there for a while. Got the starting job in Tampa. Tony, along with Monty Kiffen built a great defence that would land them a SB title not long after this.
Joey. Gildon, were beasts. I miss these days. Kordell was young. But, With Hines, Amos, Jerome, Buress, Edwards & Tuman. the play calling could have been better. This was the last game in the states I saw before going to Desert storm.
In a weird scheduling quirk because of the NFL's realignment in 2002, the Steelers had to play the Bucs in Tampa again the following year. I lived right outside of Tampa at the time, and there was a tremendous Steeler fan base down there.
Brad Johnson was introduced to Blitzburgh BIG TIME.
Bettis to Toman!! Bus ran through them, over them, around them...I loved that guy. Bettis my favorite Steeler and Polamalu a very very close 2nd.
The education of Kenyata Walker is a great name for this game
Amazing, I don't ever remember Bettis throwing this touchdown pass. Plus 10 sacks by the defense, amazing the game was this close.
2022 offense is going to look a lot like this one. I would like to see them add a 1st round wr.
I forgot to add that on the sidelines, was Mike Tomlin. Who was at this time the DB's coach of the Buc's.
Paper champion's!!! Thanks to a divisional line up change, the Steelers played and beat them again the next year on Monday night. Never a good idea to run through the Steelers warm ups 🤷♂️
Can’t stop Peezy and the Bus
Did y’all see Mike Tomlin on the Bucs sideline?
RIDE the BUS
Ward burress Shaw and Edward’s underrated wr corps. Shaw was very underrated and Troy wasn’t as bad maybe as we remember, he def under achieved and was a bust at first round.
Pittsburgh snatched the soul out of a very good Buccaneers defense.
God, were there ever two backs scarier than the Bus and Alstott? :O
Should've went to the superbowl that year
Wow..alot of HOF'ers from both teams in this game...players and coaches!
I believe this was the game Plax spiked the ball before being touched down.
No that was against the jaguars. Still hilarious
@@RotiPani75 yeah, your right. I should have nown that.
bro for some reason idk why i dont see your videos when u post them unless i go to the channel itself and check for what u have posted etc. however speaking on this game bro i remember this game because Sapp and company talked big trash about how they was gonna shut down the Bus and we see how that turned out. I wish the mic'd up version of this game was still around because Jerome laid into them big time. Porter said after the game that they could have sacked them 10 times or more.
How did the Steelers play the Bucs in 2001 and 2002? And we own them in that stadium 😂
Tampa Bay talked alot of shit before the game but weren't saying so much afterwards. Especially Sapp
And the following year, the Steelers had to play them again in Tampa, and there was a lot of shit talking between both teams again!!
@@leogetz3570 And the Steelers won again almost shut down out
