Morning all… Hope you enjoy todays video. Something completely different but perfect for a Sunday video I thought. Dad wanted to do the video 😊 If it goes well, petrol head’s run in my family and my uncle has AC cobra which he said he wanted to do a video on. (Also have a few uncle’s/ friend’s who have some serious motors🙈) Let me know, no problem if not. But something different for Sundays 😊
Yes please on the Cobra.
Yes yes yes, all day long. 😁
You and HoofGP should do a collab on the cars!
I think most watch for you and your dad don’t matter what the content is. Keep it up Tom and ginge 👊💙
Yes please tom would love to see them cars
Now there’s a guy that knows his cars, I’ve said it many times but I could listen to your father all day.
Lovely car with a very committed owner
I agree wholeheartedly
The look of enjoyment on your dad's face. Priceless.
My favorite part is he actually drives the car. It's not trailered back and forth to the track, but fully enjoyed and you can tell he enjoys it wholly.
Nor sitting in some billionaire's garage with the other 28 cars they own !
Passion is a brilliant thing and you can see and here the passion in your father for this car, great video Tom and nice to see more of what makes you guys who you are👍👍
"And by that time you are twitching!" 🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely loved this video; the car (being a TR4-5-6 fanboy), your dad's enthusiasm (his knowledge and wisdom are so endearing), and the dad/son bonding moment!
Your dad has done a fantastic job with his TR Tom it really is a credit to him and a great video you can see the twinkle in his eye when he talks about it 👏👏👍👍
I could listen to your Dad all day long! Loved this video! Your Dads face lights up when he's talking about something he's passionate about. ✨️
your dad has such a depth of knowledge not only of farming, but things mechanical. SO impressed with what he has done with this car. he really is an absolute champ!!!!!!
Now that is a pride and joy that deserves the title doesn't it. Wonderful restoration, amazing clean engine compartment and a smile wider then most highways
Respect
You spend more time in the garage than you spend with me “sooo, at least I’m not in the pub” haha gota love the ginger guy 😂 👍👍👍👍👍👍
The Ginger Guy is a verifiable gear head 😀👍⚙
Great video and you can really tell this is a labor of love❤
The TR5 was definitely the peak when it came to the TR series and had all the romance and mystique - that is not to say they didn't need improving. Great to see Daddy Pemberton has more than one passion beyond the smell of perfect silage.
This was a brilliant Sunday vid! Can see that's your dad's pride and joy. True petrol head right there
What an absolutely fantastic story and its more than fantasticly fun and heartwarming to see your dads pride, and yes, I dont know much or anything about cars, but I know this 100% surely, that car is so beautiful that it makes a grown man smile like a kid on christmas eve!
really liked seeing you and the Ginger out cruising along together. You both looked so happy, having a great time. This is a video you will want to show your kids and grandkids. Thanks again for taking the time to edit and get this out for a Sunday.
Hey hey The Ging cleans up nice! It was so fun to watch him driving and describing the TR5. It doesn't matter what it is he gives it that same energy and excitement! Have a great day
The ginger warrior is a fountain of knowledge. I love the tr5 it looks amazing.
Nice to see you two having a bit off fun in the TR5, makes a difference from talking about tractors 😂😂,
Thank you so much for this Tom, thoroughly enjoyed this different content and brought back some great memories.
1 million percent Tom can’t get enough of sweet motors I love all sorts not just expensive ones ❤👍
Watching your dad rave about his car reminds me of my dad with his '67 Mustang! It's like they're 20 years old again!
That’s a stunning car :) It’s great to see people passionate about cars, especially the older ones! I hope your folks continue to enjoy many more trips and happy miles in her!
It's right wot they say " yu never see a POOR FARMER on a push bike " Stunning Car :) :)
I know a lot of people are shouting for a General Election, and i know you have a ton of work and a life Tom. But i'm calling for a Sunday Ginger Guy video every Sunday.
Loved seeing this side of your dad. I have to wonder though has Tom ever been allowed to drive it?
It was fab hearing and seeing your dads car, you could see how much he loves it and the joy he ges
Loved this and the timing. Celebrated my dad's birthday yesterday and we did a father-son drive in the Pontiac GTO. Moments like these are what I cherish most in life. Also love the photo books your dad has that he carries with the car, very passionate amd proud. Beautiful Triumph!! 👌
your dad is such an interesting man; good to see you helping when you were little!
Hi From Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦 It was great to see the enjoyment of your father and his car. Like yr dad said it brings the youth out of him and yr mom. This is defiantly a different side of yr father that I would like to see more of. Thank-you!!!!!😊
Great to see you guys play as hard as you work. Great stuff.
Loved the video & getting to know more about your pops and his life outside the farm ❤️ You and your pops are a brilliant duo on any video topics. You both are beaming with smiles, knowledge, and loving life! Ginger - Love love love the the car!!
Great video with your Dad Tom he nows his stuff and his right foot 😂😂brilliant more please
Why do the English roadsides have hedges growing on the country roads??
It’s fantastic to see someone so passionate about something wether it’s a car or tractor or whatever it is
I wish one day to find that passion for something some day
Your dad is lucky and your lucky to have him
They had the straight six in Triumph Herald Vittesse as well.Turn a Herald to hard you could stall then. Next upgrade LED lights.
Love it, great car and I love your dad’s passion for it.
The ginger guy a man after me own heart Tom a proper petrol head 👍👍👍
Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly👍
Same straight 6 2.5 litre engine that was in the Triumph Stag.
Wow Tom, your Dad knows a thing or two about his beautiful Triumph. Good on him. Keeps him young! Thanks for sharing
It's great to see your father so enthused by his car. Would be great to see the Cobra!
This reminds me of the Porsche 111 tractor commercial! That TR5 is a beauty and very nice to hear about one of your dad’s hobbies. You can absolutely hear the passion when he talks about it!
great video, my boss has a TR5 that he has rebuilt almost everything on it and also has a old stag that he's rebuilt too. Really nice cars
My neighbour had a Stag he would never let his wife drive. When the new girlfriend came on the scene she pestered and pestered, well, of course you know what happened.....
Me, I was into bikes, had a BSA Bantam D7, and a Triumph Tiger Cub.
Wow! Had it for 27 yrs!! Did I hear right!
Love this video! The Ginger Guy is a true car guy and so proud of the TR, as he should be. Thanks for sharing and I'd love to see more. #bestchannelonyoutube
Top marks sir! Beautiful car!!!
Stunning vehicle my brother 💙👌🏻
It's think it's always nicer to listen to someone talk about their passion compared to someone with just knowledge.
That's a pretty cool triumph buddy of mine had one back in high school here in the states and it was stupid fast it's pretty cool that your dad has that kind of passion now I see where you get your passion for the dairy
The ginger man, s Frankenstein.,!!!!
I know what it is like to have a serious love for a car. Mine was a 1966 Pontiac GTO red convertible with 3 deuces under the hood and a Hurst transmission. BOY! COULD IT RUN! Spent many an hour in that car. Many, many memories. The joy and pride on your fathers face was simply priceless!! Yes, driving a car like that would certainly make you feel young again! Would love to see videos of your family’s serious motors as well as your farm videos!
Lmao what’s the shopping basket with wheels in the front garden Tom is that your whip 😂am on about the little smart car thing lol
Awesome video. The knowledge your Dad has this amazing and your treasure videos forever. What an amazing car. Great job Mr. Ginger Man!
Awesome to see the enthusiasm from your Dad for that car and the work put in to it.
As a MX5 owner I can understand Dad's enthusiasm - well done
my grandmother and I love to go around in her 1978 Triumph Spitfire 1500
It's in very good condition. I had a 1967 TR-4A back in my uni days and loved it, same colour (royal blue or midnight blue, can't remember which). Always wished I had replaced it with a TR-5 or TR-6 but opted for a 1976 Stag instead, which I still have. Those TRs have a timeless, beautiful shape. All the mods/upgrades your dad has done sound great, but personally I would have kept and re-upholstered the original seats. I understand MX-5 seats are more comfortable but they just don't look right in the car. Apart from that it's a beauty.
Thoroughly enjoyable video.
Love to see your Dads passion outside of farmimg, makes your videos all the more endearing. Great to see what keeps the ginger guy ticking.
Incredible knowledge great work lads.
Lucas fuel injection is great if set up properly. You can get EFI kits for the 2.5 now which are even better, but having carbs in that engine is a travesty IMHO
SAWEEET RIDE \0/ Ginger Guy has Jam!!! What a ROAR!!! Absolutely Gorgeous!
What a beautiful car thanks for sharing also a great story, one of Britain's greatest success stories hats off to your dad Tom
Really 👍 great video as always. What a beautiful car. Your dad has done a wonderful job 😊 , getting her to look like 👍 that. I could listen to your dad talk all day, Really great guy. Looking forward to watching a video, about your uncle’s car. Takecare and Keepsafe.❤️🦋🐄🥰🚜🏴
ap brakes on a tr5. that is cool
Absolutely loved this video Tom to hear your dad talk about his car with such knowledge and passion xx
I Am Older Than your Dad ( 76 ) I Remember The TR5 It Was A Great Sports Car, I Had A Sunbeam Alpine Sports Car In The 1960s And It Was One Of the best Smaller English sportscars of the day I Had A Hard Top, A Soft Top, And A Tonneau Cover. I Lived In South Wales UK And As Soon As The Sun Came OUT OFF CAME THE HOOD 😄 I Now Live In Australia And Wish I Had My Alpine x
Had to laugh at the beginning because... always said.... 'what is it bloke's look at when they put the bonnet up on a car and they then collectively just stand and look at it' .., usually with a mug of tea too. . 😂.... xx lovely though xx ♥
FARMING????? That Ginger guy should be building cars..a wealth of information..my hats off to you
I had a tr6 in the 80s, cried when l sold her, dreamt about her 4 twenty years after... Super tr5.... 😊❤️🏴🇫🇷
Absolutely love Father. He is a riot. Father has an amazing knowledge of motors. Love the TR5. Absolutely beautiful. would love to see and hear from your Mom too.
Love Father so much he reminds me of my Grandfather Blasingame about your knowledge of so very much and work ethic. Love "twitching"LoL 😂😆😂😆
hey Tom, good to stumble on this. I grew up in Lytham and drank with Mick (your brother?) years ago. I knew old John Pemberton too (your father?), he used to deliver milk to BAe Warton canteens when I was delivering fresh produce. I had a TR4a IRS back in the day which was the fore-runner to the TR5. I hope the family are well.
The first car that I bought was a 1960 TR-3A . I got married in 1963 and new wife needed a car--what else but a new 1964 Spitfire. The TR-3 was stolen and I was in the US army and did not have time to buy a used TR-3 to replace it and so I bought a 1965 TR-4 IRS. It had drive train problems, its clutch would lock up when cold and that would lobutck the transmission up. I replaced it with a new 67 VW Beatle. I eventually found a 1959 TR-3 in1969. I still have it, but it is not quite a runner. My last Triumph is a 1977 TR-7. This was a great car when it ran, but had engine problems. The slant 4 was a dog in US trim.
I like the Twin Inch SU's? I had Triple 1 3/4 SU's on a 1964 EH Holden running a 192 ci inline six back in the day.
Ginger Guy, you're a happy man and so proud of your baby.
Okay, now you and the Ginger Guy REALLY do need to collaborate with Jeremy Clarkson (and Caleb's) Farm!!!
Love Andy's TR 5. I think modern cars have no soul and look like jelly molds. Mk1 and Mk2 Ford Escorts are my faves, in fact, most older ford cars are ace also old rovers like the sovereign, etc are great cars and Triumph Toledo's ' sprints and Dolomites are ace. But the TR 5' TR 6 And Mk 1'2' and 3 Landrovers just rock. A 'P' L OCKHEADS brake calipers are well up there. It is good to hear someone who can talk cars like your dad as motorcycles are my thing but old cars are just as interesting to me. I enjoyed this vlog by your dad and I hope that you both do more of these. Cheers, Matt.
Your dad should join a classic car trails club. He and the wife could do timed trails (not off road)
My step dad has a wolseley and he has just bought a, R.K.S. it is an English flathead V8 special of the 1940s only one ever made. there is a vid of it on YT.
He has kept it in a lovely condition and looks lovely top job Ginger warrior 👍👍👍👍👍👍 enjoyed this cheers Tom.
Seen modern EFI on one of these. Not an expensive process.
Think you should do a Pemberton car show! I’ll bring my Aston DBS Ginger warrior will appreciate it’s the last of the NA cars. Great video! Look forward to the cobra video!
I wish I could say I had a TR5 but I didn't.I had the next best thing. While I was stationed at RAF St Athan, west camp, between 1965 and 1968 I had a very good mate who did have one and I was a passenger in that very often.Beautiful car.If I can remember it had a hard top but you could remove a panel in the top.Surrey top I think.Great memories.
What a absolute joy to hear your father talk about his pride and joy the TR5 and what knowledge and enthusiasm for the particular vehicle. In an age of selfish materialism it’s refreshing to listen to a true gentleman who gets pleasure not from the value of the vehicle but the driving pleasure achieved by the time and effort devoted to the upkeep of the car. As an owner of a Twenty One year old defender I understand the pleasure from driving a vehicle that has character, something that will be lost in future years with battery powered soulless shells of metal!
Worked on a few 2500's years ago, great engines. Didn't know anything about a TR5 though, good looking proper car! Very jealous. Thanks for the video really interesting
Love this!!! Cars arn’t my thing, but they are my husbands!! - he’ll love this weeks Sunday video! Amazing seeing your dad so happy as well. Have a good week!
I had the American version of that car. A TR250. It was yellow. My, so called, best friend stole it from right in front of my house. It was found a few years later in his backyard under a tarp. We weren’t friends after all that. Roger in Pierre South Dakota USA 😊
When my parents first met, my dad had a TR2 and has always regretted selling it. And a dear friend of mine has a chain-driven 1933 Fraser Nash, which she races. I bet the Ginger Ninja would like a go in that. Happy Christmas to you all.
Absolutely love the TR5 Mr. P. I had a TR6 over here in the U.S. and absolutley loved it. Great driving car. Ended up gifting it to an ex girlfriends dad as he loved them and never had the chance or found the time to get himself one. That was over 35 years ago. He's retired in his late '70s now and still has it and drives it to this day. Great cars. Thanks for sharing. Spencer
What a great video!
Hammond or May should do a special with your Dad on their UA-cam channels about this TR5
Keep Clarkson for the farming now 😉
well done for keeping it standard and not trying to put a v8 or something crazy in there...i have a 1970 cp model tr6 and know what your car means to you....well done and enjoy.
Excellent video Tom, your dad certainly loves that TR5 and why not, it’s beautiful. ❤️👍✊👌
Back in the 70’s I had the big brother of the TR5. I had a couple of Triumph Stags, I’ll get another one as a toy sometime 👍
Loved this video, thank you, and definitely do more on the same theme. I had a Triumph spitfire from new in 1971 and only kept it a year, almost always had the roof down unless heavy rain, I did 25,000 miles and went through three sets of tyres, two gearboxes and a new piston, oh yeah and cracked the chassis after one long airborne moment. Always wanted a TR5, absolute beauty, especially with the surrey top but would have kept the Damson colour.
Nice!!!!! I've seen many Triumph motorcycles here in the States, my brother used to work on them, but I've never seen a Triumph car!!!
I'm a complete sucker for older convertible sports cars, so that little baby is right up my alley! Thanks for sharing!
Definitely would of gone fuel injection efi. Or piggy bank setup. The only problem with carbs Is once they get clogged they run very rough or don't run at all. In todays world most people don't know how to clean carbs or they do but put them back together wrong. With fuel injection. Just get the injectors cleaned. Saw a tr5 at a show with a rover sd1 v8 engine on fuel injection. It was great and Definitely didn't hang about when accelerating.
Nice in 1976 I bought a TR7 one of only four that were brought to the United states it had a blueprinted engine 14 karat gold leaf pinstripe mahogany dash and wood accents burgundy color it was a speed demon wow I had to sell it because the insurance was too much because of all the speeding tickets I got lol.
Enjoyed watching how much your father obviously loved rebuilding this beautiful classic vehicle.
Can't believe I just sat and watched some guy brag for 18 minutes straight about my top 5 fave car and how he owns it and I don't!
Well done guys, she looks gorgeous and great vid.
Greg
A guy near me has an identical one to that, YNK427F, he daily drives it in all weathers, but he keeps it minty.
Now there a man who knows and loves his car. Great episode. Thanks Tom, and the Ginger Warrior
Sounds like my dad “why would you want all that bother with fuel injection”. Modern fuel injection systems are really good when set up right, old fuel injection systems are crap especially the “mechanical” injection systems. But having said that, it’s an old car so carbies suit it, better induction sound. It’s a nice ride when do we get to see the rest of the garage? New video opportunities!!
.
Cars are JUST a nessesary evil. Needed to get from Point A to Point B. Fancy ones are just waisted $ in my book.
I have never been impressed by them. Just want safe and reliable!
Denise,waterman,whas a Big fan,(don’t no if it is the same one) RIP,Terry,😢😢 Keith,France 🤠🍷🍷
