As someone with Type 1 Diabetes, thank you for clarifying that not everyone with diabetes has poor lifestyle and sometimes it's just a roll of the dice with genetics... perfectly explained :)
Yup! you're welcome
In terms of Type 1 it's pretty much exclusively outside the person's control. Some Type 2 Diabetics may become dependent on insulin replacement but usually it's still considered type 2
Type 1 diabetes isn't genetic.
Huntington's disease is a genetic disease. Tay-Sachs is a genetic disease.
There has never been any causality established between any genes or genes and autoimmune disease.
I'm tired of this lazy "we don't know so it must be genetic" paradigm.
Yeah, same is true for me. Never been particularly obese, yet I got Type 2. My doctor was really confused and because of this, everyone involved initially suggested Type 1. At this point I do need long-lasting Insulin every day to support the pills I take, but it is under control, thankfully
@@xPandamon I'm glad it's under control, I don't know as much about Type 2 Diabetes so hearing you take pills and insulin at the same time sounds like hypoglycemia to me, but maybe I just need some more education 🤔
Don’t worry everyone. It’s never lupus.
Thanks Dr. House!
all i could think about during the lupus part 💀
My conscious is the lupus 🥲

Recovering alcoholic here: I drank for 13 years, I still have issues with my liver and I'm lucky because I got away without scaring/permanent damage. I am healing but my levels are still off. Quit while you can people.
Good luck on your journey. I believe in you.
Keep fighting.
My sister had type 1 diabetes and watching her cry after the diagnosis and struggle to contorl the disease for years destroyed me. I wish their was a cure for type 1 diabetes… it’s a constant daily fight to stay healthy and a couple of missed days can land you in hospital. Absolutely terrifying and soul crushing.
I had my biology exam today and your videos about biology have really helped me remember some difficult questions
Keep up the good work with ur videos :)
Glad to help you
I have photosensitive lupus dermatitis (a type of lupus) and it makes me allergic to sunlight, but honestly I got it diagnosed so early and I’ve had such consistent treatment it’s never made me anything other that tired and a bit rashyq
All gamers hail this guy
you would make a real good discord mod...
but seriously, hope it is reversable
Ok so maybe a bit more information on lupus treatment. They basically wreck your immune system with steroids (not that kind) bc the illness comes from there. Then they just give medicine daily forever lol.
My man is a nighttime mob
Honestly that's cool. Medicine has made it possible for you live your life. Me on the other hand, there's no cure for being Irish descent, I'm still avoiding the sun
52 minutes of moving stickman? Christmas came early.
Tbh Vitiligo is actually so pretty tho. It might be a desease, but I think people with it are gorgeous.
I agree, while for the person with it may entirely and rightly hate what is happening to them, I am rather very receptive to variations in appearance. It's beautiful.
i’d be interested to see you include ehlers danlos syndrome or POTS in one of your videos! there isn’t much coverage on them, so it would be super cool!
I have POTS! I was diagnosed recently and I never see anyone talking about it so that would be cool :)
Is it painful? How does it affect you?
@@user-ue6ur5xn3x I can’t speak for everyone who has it, but for me, it comes and goes. At its worst, I’ll have fainting spells and trouble breathing which can be really scary and pretty painful, but most days it just manifests in difficulty regulating temperature. When it gets cold out I have to be careful to wear warm compression socks and gloves, otherwise my hands and feet will go numb which is extremely uncomfortable 😔 on the bright side though, I get an excuse to eat a bunch of salty foods 😋
@@LilsyCatThat's good know. I hope you heal.
I have both! Would be good to see more coverage and awareness in the media :)
thank you for saying type one diabetes can be fatal so many underestimate the harshness and difficulties of living with the chronic condition
YAY 50 MINUTES OF LEARNING!!👁👅👁
I have lupus and as long as I take my medication, exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet I rarely suffer from flare-ups.
praying for you ❤
Thank you!
28:51 I really REALLY recommend you doing this and if you find ANY abnormality INSIST on getting it checked more thoroughly. I noticed a lump in my breast that was growing about 2 years ago and went to my gynecologist 3 times with that concern. She always examined them by palpitation and said every time that it's just in my head and that there was nothing. 2 years went by and I went to a different general doctor to get a second opinion on my blood work because my Thyroid levels were extremely high and my old general doctor said I had a liver virus. Hashimoto's is in my family and turns out I have it too and I now take high dosage L-Thyroxine. Due to being fes up with bs, I decided to get my lump checked out at a hospital and my new doctor there immediately did an ultrasound and also a biopsy all the while trashing my old gynecologist for being so oblivious and stupid. I was so lucky. It was a still benign pre-stage cancer. She immediately recommended having surgery to excise it as it would at one point suddenly grow and become an aggressive cancer without me seeing any signs and I immediately agreed. I had surgery two days ago to remove it. It hurts badly but I was SO SO lucky that it hadn't turned malignant yet. I am so relieved. PLEASE CHECK YOURSELF AND PLEASE GO TO A DOCTOR WHO TAKES YOU SERIOUSLY!!!
im glad you got it taken care of before it could've been worse 🙏❤
This is a great video to play when youre stressed about exams, suddenly my deadline definitely seems like a small problem
Idk if you guys made this yet but could you make a video explaining different rare skin conditions or rare disabilities and include albinism ?
Vitiligo is not lethal.
Vitiligo isnt lethal, but not even Dangerous, its Just melanina and skin Cell that dies and have less melanine in some area
Thanks for uploading another long form video! Really going to enjoy this!
As someone with lupus… I probably shouldn’t watch this before I go to bed. Welp too late now! 😅 I’m only 21 it’s usually not diagnosed (I was diagnosed at 17) till wayyyy later but eh. I’m on a med forever so I can function.
I’m so happy myasthenia gravis actually got mentioned I have that and I barley see it talked about
this is my new background video channel, I appreciate the long form videos! (and I really like your voice 🙂)
You i have hashimotos. I got diagnosed young due to an extensive family history, cool to see it mentioned! It sucks lol but proper treatment can cause some good improvement
i was so happy to hear the narcolepsy mention!! a lot of people forget about narcolepsy since it doesn't get a lot of rep on social media and it is relatively rare
I would like to throw out the other less common thyroid autoimmune disease called Graves disease. Hyperthyroidism/ Graves disease can definitely lead to death if left untreated. Loved this video ❤ keep spreading information on different issues people face.
Hashimoto actually varies from hypothyroidism to hyperthyroidism and can end up in an atrophied thyroid
I think these videos are very educational but I think having a ~10 second or so intro with a list of the diseases explained and like a "Here's what we'll be talking about" would help.
These videos are mega good, thanks to the insider friends
I was only one and a half years old when I was diagnosed with type one diabetes
This helps a lot
Could you do disabilities next
By the way, you need a specific gene for an unhealthy lifestyle to lead to type 2 diabetes, much like type 1, it’s mostly genetic, an unhealthy lifestyle simply allows type 2 to take form.
I love, LOVE the design for lupus ❤❤ /kind regards for someone with lupus
You should look at a rabbit called the Lupus rabbit made by a a mental & physical health advocate named American Mcgee
fibromyalgia hasn’t been covered yet! (i dont think)
it’s a very interesting chronic condition. basically, when we experience things that cause repeated nerve stimulation (severe injury, or in my case: psychological trauma) our brain increases pain-signaling chemicals & pain receptors get super sensitive.
because i experienced prolonged trauma, my body got used to constantly pumping adrenaline and cortisol (etc), hyperaware nervous system, and just existing in a high-stress state of being that in my everyday life, i still experience (incurable) physical pain and extreme fatigue despite a lack of triggers. 88.2% of us have experienced childhood trauma, and children with trauma = 2x more likely to develop fibro.
my condition worsened at 21. what’s the least amount of sleep you can operate on? if i get less than 7 hours, i can barely make it without falling asleep multiple times. if i get less than 5, it’s 95% guaranteed i won’t be able to wake up to an alarm & will only wake up when my body is satisfied.
THE BODY KEEPS SCORE!
Congrats on 100K !
Thank you!
I work in Type 1 Diabetes, transplantation specifically, I think it would be good to add that donor islet transplants are a thing for severe Type 1 diabetics! Often overlooked in informational videos, but nevertheless, great video!
Wow! I have Type 1 Diabetes and I didn't know this was even possible. Thanks for the info :)
When it mentioned the adrenal glands in Addison disease it reminded me of the cancer I had on my adrenal gland
It's extremely rare, but i got Hashimoto before puberty and so it was interesting when I was pregnant my midwife told me that most women don't develop hypothyroidism until they're already done having children so there is a rare phenomenon called a thyroid storm that can happen after giving birth where the trauma causes your thyroid to randomly increase your metabolism to a toxic degree that causes heart attack and organ failure. That was fun to hear
I love how most of these is us attacking ourselves 😭😭😭
that's because the first segment of the video is autoimmune diseases
your eyes have a separate immune system, so if your body ever detected it, it would literally cause you to go blind since your immune system is so different from your eyes immune systems
Whenever i remember my thyroid exists, i touch it and whisper “t h y r o i d”
As someone with Hashimoto’s and Celiac, perfect explanations for those two!
7:33 insane jumpscare hearing my own condition on here bro
you should do the most painful diseases
i can do that
My mom has lupus this helps a lot
Whoah this is a really long video still love it tho
I have an autoimmune condition called Chronic Inflammatory Demylenating Polyneuropathy. It's rough out here :/ in my disease the autoantibodies attack the myelin on the nerves. I have a lot of "nerve zaps" where my nerves feel like lightning for a second.
Hey, are you a VA for another channel that reads reddit stories by chance? The soothingness of your voice is so similair
I was starting to wonder if this voice was AI because it’s almost… too smooth lol
Long form content my true love!
YESSSSD LONG VIDEOIOOOOOO
Nice video ❤
It’s never lupus
Except when it is. Had a friend who had it and they visited so many doctors who refused to believe it was. Never rule out shit, guys! Please!
Well that was uplifting
I had neonatal lupus and I popped possible later issues with lupus but doc says Im not showing signs right now
I was a neuro icu nurse x 30 years. Took care of many folks handed that death sentence, GBM aka glioblastoma multiforme. 😢
Yeah, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis is shit. Especially because many doctors choose to not check for it. Even if it is common in a family history.
As a type one diabetic, you forgot one thing, it takes forever for blood sugar to go down.
20:48 FINALLY MY CONDITION BEING RECONIZED! I'm 90 to 100% sure my ckd and my crummy doctors (they aren't so bad they just made a choice that would have realistically killed me) doctors are the reason I had the horrible stroke that I did, it was a double brain hemorrhage that would have killed me ifit weren't for the super cool, super strange phenomenon known as "the third man effect" but I'm getting ahead of myself, my kidneys are doing better now, better enough for my doctors to raise my sodium from 1,500 to 2,000
My friend axel was born with a type of osteoporosis and is very active. Please remember to state that it is not always a bad lifestyle condition
41:50 Mesothelioma, also known as the disease that makes you entitled to financial compensation.
YOOO ANOTHER LONG VIDEO
YASSSS!
Yahoo now I know what an autoimmune disease is!
I have Hashimoto’s so this is funny to see haha, also if anyone has questions about it feel free to ask
The obesity thing has 1 small error and that fat wasn't for when you went hunting again but more so when you lost the beast and went hungry and to keep your body functioning as believe or not there is a genetic condition where people are unable to store fat which has resulted in them needing to eat every 8 hours or so (it might be less as I haven't seen stuff about this in a long time) or they will die from starvation, they have to wake up in the middle of the night to eat so they don't die which is why this is relevant to this comment, but like I said it is a small error and is more so a technical error rather than complete misinformation or disinformation
Edit also winter, do I need to say more
Bro I love you
THANK YOU FOR THE SLEEPY TIME SOUNDS MR STICK MAn
bro never fails to scare us
Hi I luv this
I actually have vitiligo! And a dermatologist said it was skin cancer for some reason, then I later found out that it was vitiligo
Note: There is also a form of Paget's disease that affects bone growth.
The stuff on heart health, fats and meat are not the cause, they actually reduced heart problems, it's the processed foods, tons of vegs, and carbs that are hurting us
Hashimoto’s isn’t lethal in most cases. It definitely sucks, but as long as it’s treated it’s not deadly.
I have vitiligo on my back side

Some perfect people get cardiovascular disease.
Some people born with some conditions have it.
I don’t know what it says about me that this is the kind of shit I fall asleep to but it definitely explains the anxiety disorder
8:22 Bro looks shocked like 😂
What about Revitiligo
Wait wait, so its estimated that 1.5 million in the US has some form of Lupus, but only 5 million worldwide has a form?
Whats going on in the US to have potentially anywhere from 1/5 to 2/5 of total worldwide cases of Lupus?
Inbreeding. Americans don't have alot of brain cells, so they share with their families
im no expert or anything but could it simply be a case of how many people actually get diagnosed? i honestly hadn't heard of lupus until i moved to the US so maybe it has something to do with that?
Lupus is an auto immune disorder, auto immune disorders are more prevalent in populations that are less frequently exposed to parasites (this would explain why it's rare in India and China where still to this day many people don't have access to clean drinking water
The other part is just the major difficulty in reporting because it's rare and may go undiagnosed
This is also why the US and most other developed nations have significantly higher rates of allergies.
27:08 Ok tenma took that seriously
Why did Paget’s disease have a nip slip?
15:22 Bro why😂 is the red shirt a reference to Nikocado avocado?😂😂
14:30 we know it's bad for health.
The tolerance you're talking about here is basically about not bullying obese people.
I’m terrified of diabetes since it runs in my family so I probably have it
I have Type 1 Diabetes, it's always worth talking to your doctor about sooner than later so complications don't arise, they can always do a simple test :)
we done got lethalballs now 💀
The country balls are evolving, we got country, states, company, viruses and diseases, and im happy.
I get made fun of for my type 1 diabetes at school and I should show this to them
The lungs with anime eyes is so cursed. 😂
bro can we talk about the anime face for the cardiovasdcular disease
12:04 3 times I think I had strep throat and I think 2 times I had tonsillitis😭
diabetes type 1 has to be the EASIEST lethal disease to care for in the whole video. you eat what you want still, but just regulated amounts. the insulin needles dont even hurt and youll get used to stinging your fingertips to get bloodsamples fairly quick. it only become lethal when you neglect it and dont go by the rules. besides, a diabetic type 1's diet is said to be what everyone should be following because of how beneficial it is, for example, eating salad before every meal *breakfast excluded* will regulate your blood sugar so that it doesnt spike when you eat, eating equal amounts of everything, etc. dont let people make you think you cant eat what you want or such, you just need to be careful of your blood sugar, and after injecting insulin (or the use of a pump) you can eat about anything depending on how well you are following the diet
How DARE you call obesity a lethal disease! Get with the times! 😂
Dang my sister is dignasosed with lupus and its like affecting her kidneys and shes trying to fight it but no worries shes good but Just seeing her suffer cuz they take out blood Just hurts especially when your little sister sees it which im that little sister
What I find weird about diabetes is when you get it you go two ways: 1. Have sugar cravings, drink a lot then constantly vomit of an adrenaline overdose or 2. pee a lot then pass out of dehydration and encephalitis
Dawg I just had my final 😭
Wait... What about Graves Disease?
8:54 I love you Michael Jackson I wish people would believe you
Anything on Crohn’s disease
I have type 1
Undiagnosed auto-immune disorders equally suck to lupus cuz…crappy without any answers or management. Uuuugh
