  • In today's video, I take the brand new MG3 Hybrid for a first drive and ponder the radical transformation this historically British-born brand has undergone. We'll explore what changes, evolution, and the fascinating world of modern car technology mean for us, the end users. Surprisingly, I discover that embracing new advancements can keep us feeling young and vibrant.
From reminiscing about classic MG models like the MGB roadster to getting excited about futuristic cars like the MG Cyberster, join me for a ride through rose-tinted spectacles and out into the glare of the future. Discover how new tech, from 360-degree cameras to advanced safety systems, enhances our driving experience and contributes to our overall well-being.
As we age, it's easy to cling to the past, but it seems that embracing change and new technology is essential-not just for staying relevant but for thriving in a rapidly evolving world.
Don't miss out on this engaging discussion about the intersection of nostalgia, innovation, and the elixir of youth that modern cars can offer.

As someone who has had attempts on my life by electronic/computer driving “aids” many times. I’ve finally made the decision to make it through to my death without any more vehicles with driver “aids”. They destroy driving enjoyment and randomly make attempts on your life!
I’ve made it into my 50’s safely, while enjoying driving and motorcycling a couple of million kilometres. Many of those kilometres in record time! Reality is my thing.

Mid viewing comment: One thing that strikes me about your presentation style is that you rarely "fluff" your lines. Very few instances of hesitation, repetition or "Umms" or "Errs". Your conversation flows very smoothly and you make it all look quite effortless.

    Yes I remember Ch...Ch... Changes.
Will now watch the rest of your video.
The mirror image of this is that old cliche about middle aged men trying to hold on to their youth by buying a sports car.
Two different ways of looking at it I guess.

At 0:55 I love how you say "Let's get into it". If you took that one phrase out of context and as a seperate soundbite clip entirely on its own, it could sound as if you are effectively saying " Ok bud, let's take this outside and get into it". 😂

Yes for myself, whenever I hear or read "MG" I immediately think MGB GT. Can you tell I'm a 1960's child?😊

Why do I need a button which tells the computer to apply power to solenoids to apply the handbrake when a simple direct mechanical connection from a ratcheted lever to the brakes does the job elegantly and simply (and cheaply)? Just because we can do it doesn't mean that we should!

To be honest it all went downhill after Mr Dunlop decided to put a cushion of air around a wheel. Removed the feel of the road from the drivers seat. What was he thinking😮.

I can't stand all the sensors and computer monitoring/controlling, along with spurious alarms and/or difficulty (and expense!) in diagnosing. I think I'd rather have a traditional distributor and points. 50p to replace defective points versus many days fault diagnosing and expensive sensor/computer replacements. It's a no brainer for me, even if points need more attention. At least it's something I can do at he roadside. Bring back 8 track cartridge players and engine starting crank handles .......

The letters MG mean "Morris Garages". The hexagon badge is nonsense on a Chinese vehicle even if it has been bought as a label. But people loved to be deceived about many things in the world today!

MG was at death's doorstep. The Chinese brought it back to life. Compared to what Britain put out, the Chinese are better at making cars.

There really is no new tech worth talking about, just more de-skilling knobs and whistles,
and expensive complexity. Bring back simplicity and a drivers ability to work on
    their own vehicle on weekends.

An MG and a piece of crap Chinese milk float with an MG badge on it are two entirely different things.
