You forgot the Certifications they add to your profile. It can be downloaded and printed. There are also courses that satisfy CE (Continuing Education) credits for PMI, Business Analysis Association?, Etc.
I have completed one on Ed X (paid $45.00) that was Tough to get uploaded certificate.
If you are taking courses as a linked in premium member, as soon as you are no longer a “premium member” your courses will disappear, along with your premium network. Probably too much information, but doesn’t hurt to elaborate.
Just letting you know that there could possibly be a 3rd option: free linkedin learning through your local/state library. I live in NY, and given that every single person in NY pays 8 dollars a year in taxes for the largest public library in the country, we get lots of benefits for that 8 dollars. The only thing is that a surprising amount of new yorkers don't know about this. Either way, many library systems besides the NYPL offer free courses and subscriptions. Most offer things like lynda or linkedin learning/ mango languages/ rocket languages/ ebooks / in-person library courses and more. ;)
4th option is free linkedin learning through your employer, when possible.
Thank you Dominic! You have just saved me $500 AUD, it was available via QLD state library for free :)
Yeah my library has it and I've been using it put of boredom
@@thatgui88 can you help me get one please? I really need it.
@@user-yw9ox9gr6y got to your local library website and it has linked in on there
"Udemy with pant suits" - worth it just for that comparison! 😃 I've got a soft spot for LinkedIn Learning. I do get free access to it, but I find it a useful format and pretty smooth. I seem to recall old days, probably the Lynda era, where it was pretty much "get started with Excel" and "intermediate Excel" etc. The technical level of content wasn't great. It's actually pretty good now, with the caveat, as you say, it's mostly watch, next, watch, next, watch... And always check out the relevance of the technical topics.
Definitely deserves a higher grade, it can be free for students or through public services and certs can be tied to your LinkedIn account or printed. This is a plus, especially since you can form connections with employers because of LinkedIn and it's Job Board.
Seriously...I HAVE to subscribe. You simply #@£& entertaining to listen and the video is full of value.
Thank you! ✌🏻
Interesting content, keep up the good work.
Cheers from Brazil
I use LinkedIn Learning as podcast for my work commutes. The courses are easy enough to follow without having to pay much attention to the screen. Otherwise, they are brief summaries of the topics.
On LinkedIn Learning, I learned how to completely "no-code" MS-Access to create a database of our personnel and publish it in such a way that it didn't look anything at all like MS-Access. It was cool, I guess.
I think much of its use is for those that are already familiar with a particular concept... IDK, say MS-Outlook, and then take a few courses so you can then know 98% more than anyone else. Mail Merge comes to mind. We had to get semi-individualized letters out to 300 personnel, and I taught the HR fam how to do that in a few keystrokes. In fact, I'm completely shocked at both the level of ignorance everyone, and their unwillingness to seek out the knowledge.
Thanks for this video. All of your opinions makes are very useful.
Thank you for putting this together!
Yea that was my problem I had with Lynda / LinkedIn learning. I don’t like the fact the platform has some outdated courses. I don’t want take the risk learning outdated skills.
One time I turned myself in 1 of the newest versions of Microsoft office, but when I went to apply for the job I wanted, they completely tested me on an older version and I did not pass lol
thank you for the review!
What is the best online learning for Adobe CC? I'm a beginner and barely know what the basics are.
Echoing Dominic: Something I want anyone who watches this to see: In my experience some public libraries, schools, and even some jobs offer free access to LinkedIn Learning. It's well worth getting a library card to get access and start adding free completion certs to your LinkedIn profile. You're also able to make a small donation to some large libraries and get access to their resources for a year. Happy learning!
What is the a la carte competitor you are mentionning?
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I'm currently subscribed to linkedin learning too. The good thing about this is you know the instructors are experts in their field because you can see their own linkedin profile. Do you use a different learning platform? It's just that I think most of the topics here only scratches the surface. Do you think so too?
Strongly Agree
Yes but still a good intro and easy to digest. Does not discourage learning when you want to start.
If you are looking for Marketing/ Sales courses, LinkedIn Learning is fantastic. Very relevant and up-to-date info! I have found myself come back to LinkedIn Learning time and time again as I think about ways to solve business problems at my job
Can your review the CS50 courses by Harvard? I started one, it's amazing, more people should know about it! It's free (except if you want a certificate).
I'm doing the Computer Science course and I'm blown away. Where I am, they have a lot of great exercises where you code in C, and using commands you check your code functionality and style via their servers. Then you get a grade when submitting, and you can resubmit your work whenever you want. It feels like their is a teacher correcting me sort of. The teachers and their lessons are also the best.
Could you suggest some best linkedin e-learning for business analyst. I want to transit from SAP ABAP to business analyst domain.
Maybe do a review on “Simplilearn” and/or “Edureka” next?
LinkedIn learning does offer a-la-carte. The course I am looking at (Full Stack Web Development) costs $34.99 with certificate.
Isn't it free through your local library?
3:27 made me spit my coffee out hahaha
Useful video!
What is the competitor platform that offers individual courses that are cheaper?
Probably Udemy. Udemy’s courses are purchased A-la-cart and can be as low as $11/class. Though, more commonly $20/class.
But just like all other platforms, they have outdate courses too.
LinkedIn Learning vs SkillShare, which is best to learning IT related courses?
Linkedin is more technical, so it's right up the IT ally, but if you're more creative type go for skillshare.
I’m the person looking to obtain a certificate so that I can start working in that field with no experience. Are there any platforms that you would recommend for Social Media Marketing and Data Analysis? Thank you
I m struggling wd the same .. someone pls help
Do i have to pay?
We don't have much of a choice, we need more than IT courses and can't afford to take long lengthy courses. Seems like a good fit for us. Thanks for a great video.
Lot of free lessons on youtube aswell
@@Don-po8vl We went with Udemy for Business - brilliant 👌. Still busy testing LinkedIn Learning with a single private account. Not too shabby either.
@@MarsorryIckuatuna Marsorry, how has Linkedin Testing working for you?
@@kruthikaysonwalkar3893 Great service - our HR team chose to rather use Udemy for Business after comparing catalogues. A few of what we wanted as far as courses are concerned was better featured there. Sadly, we can’t use both / would be too expensive.
thanks
if you have a library card with your county library you might be able to access linkedin learning for free!
Thank you for this tip! It worked for me ☺️
One of the worst thing is that it’s slow , and the video quality is so bad you cannot even read the code in programming video.
wow linkedin adapted pretty fast huh? you can buy individual courses right now, sadly most courses are pretty light
Great video but I did see where you can pay $50 for just one course
Should I download it?
A la carte is available!
I just got my first certificate
The problem I have with LI Learning is that a lot of courses feel so "robot-like". They are "too" perfect with great lighting, great clothes, great backgrounds and great reading from a great script. I want a course to have personality with a down to earth teacher, not a corporate guy that has done 50 courses on how to present like a pro.
Are the others course sites like this or are they more "natural"? I'm thinking of Skillshare, Udemy etc.
Thanks for stopping me of unnecessary expenses and waste of time.
Are courses free after we have premium membership?
yes
is this the same as lynda?
Sort of! All the Lynda courses have been imported into LinkedIn Learning, but they share a stage with other creators who've made courses exclusively for LinkedIn Learning.
@@TechCourseReview thanks interesting. thanks again for the amazing review
Do employers accept LinkedIN certificates?
I don't think they care. It might show that you put effort to further educate yourself, but a recruiter is more interested how you apply your skill. Maybe showing your skills on a portfolio website, thought take this advice with a grain of salt. I am just guessing here.
This will depend entirely in the field you work in. For myself, I'm doing sales in cybersecurity, and taking courses from the cloud, selling techniques to time management has helped me stand out. It has helped me keep up with the fast pace and changing nature of working in tech. Best of luck to you.
@@Kelven947 taking courses from the cloud ? what do you mean ?
@@Nikki3b0oxX sorry, I meant to say about cloud (migration, data centers, platforms, etc). Next class I'll take is writing 😂
I believe that having certs on my LinkedIn profile helped me get a job I wanted, though the LinkedIn learning completion certs weren't the only ones I had. I MIGHT add one course to my resume if it needed content in a direction that I wanted. But I DO heap the completion certs onto my LinkedIn profile as soon as I complete the courses.
In my experience, courses I've been taken so far don't usually get extremely technical, but they are great for introducing you to concepts and considerations in a field / subject / industry you want to learn about.
Lol you’re hilarious 😂
I’m here for the humor 🤣🤣😂😂😂
Is Taking a course in LinkedIn Learning is "worth it "
What's your Linked In profile mam , i would be happy to connect with u !
It looks good but it is expensive. $40 for monthly sub. I'll spend my time with freecodecamp.
