I have Rosso iv on mine, works great. Less twitchy than the stock Metzeler racetec, and way easier to ride at slower speeds. Feels like I'm less apt to fall over. Holding a line much easier too. I had Dunlop Roadsmart iv on another bike. Loved those too. Crazy good tire life and grip. I had s22's on a cb300r. Didnt ride with them long enough, but felt they were a bit slow on turn in with good grip. Surprisingly confident in the wet.
That's great feedback. My mate has the Rosso 1V's, I wanted the Rosso's but there is an availability issue. I have ordered the S22's, which I found to be a great tyre, on my previous Triumph 660. A lot of folk really rate the the Metzler's, I'm sure there great, but not for me!!!! Thanks for the input Mellow.
Im replacing the Metzs with ContiRoadAttack4 but can not provide feedback - winter is here. My opinion is that everything depend on where you drive your bike... the condition of the road
All the more reason to setup the suspension correctly when dogs chase you! Have you used the YSS front fork upgrade kit as well? I've just installed these on my 900 street twin and trying to figure out the settings.
I'd have kept the rosso 3s but come UK winter time they were treacherous. Swapped to Avon spirit STs and I have full confidence to ride how I want all year round. I think race Tec RRs are absolutely over kill for a 100hp roadster. Sport touring tyres are good for 95% of people 95% of the time in my opinion.
Totally agree Alex, Rosso 3's are awesome tyres in the dry!!! I'm very spoilt here with the weather so could run slicks if I want...haha Have put on some S22's, I really like the feedback from these tyres and the grip levels are good to the edge!!!
Hi, thanks for dropping by. I am a Brit living in Hua Hin, Thailand. The roads here are, on the whole, really good, just have to take care and attention for dogs and Thai drivers!!! Are you loving the ST12? Cheers bud....
I remember when Bridgestones were like hard plastic and only basically came with a new bike. How things have changed, although yes Pirellis have always been nice a grippy. Concur with your chicken strip opinion.
My mate encouraged me to try Bridgestone and I'm glad he did, they pretty effing good on my 660, Pirelli are difficult to get in this part of the world!!!!! The OEM Metzsler's are highly rated, not by me, I don't get good feedback from them....🐔🐔
@@davexs I can believe it, things change. Most riders I come across here talk about the road pilots. I come from an era where I used Avon Gripsters on my work bikes and Pirelli Phantoms for something sticky 😂
Hi Dave I have just got a Gen 1 Speed Twin interested in your experiences I was thinking of upgrading the rear springs which model of YSS did you go for? (in the UK with crappy roads) Many thanks.
3:36 Nice scene. The bike does look good. Although I have no real need for anything bigger than my 390, this Triumph does make me think, but I suspect I won't act on the desire.

Indeed, horses for courses. Loving the S22's I have just fitted.
@@davexs so you can confirm that s22 can be mounted on ST?
@@ivankolev4662 Yes, confirmed

The Marzocchi front end on the new Speed twin are fine, I did not change. Good luck Aditya

New to your channel good stuff always love seeing a fellow Speed Twin owner. Where are you out of? Roads there look fun and scenic.

@@BeansOnToast_YT I don't like the Michelin tyres. They are fine, but I don't get the feedback from them, one minute they grip and then they don't.

Check this video, about 15 seconds in. Got the model number.

hey Paul! Before upgrading, you may want to consider tightening up the preload 1 click. Somehow, it really made a big difference ;)
Is good to have a fiddle with the suspenders... man, that is a lot of dogs.... are they strays, or just not controlled by owners?
Got to love the suzzies.....It's a mix of owned dogs and strays. The owners don't control them and then they get pregnant, so they get dumped!!!
Could they have put a fatter tire on Dave if it scrapes the chain? MUST LOVE DOGS 😁🐕🦺
Yeah I think they must of done, time will tell, I have ordered some!!!!!! I do love dogs, not strays in the road though..........
Maybe try Pirelli Rosso 3's, gives me plenty of confidence, they feel planted in all road conditions. Then again, could be my bike🤣
Yeah your bike is rocket and on rails!!!!

WTF is wrong with dogs ?? :P lol.
Nothing, I love dogs, just not stray dogs in the road!!!
