- During questions about Justice yesterday, Tory Alexander Burnett pointed out that in the 10 years since Police Scotland was created, around a quarter of all police stations have closed.
The closure of a local police station in his constituency, he says, has lead to increasing cases of anti-social behaviour, vandalism, theft and drug abuse all due to a reduced price presence.

Police Scotland has not been good for scotland in fact it has been the worst thing for towns and villages. police running around in vans instead of walking the beat means the yobs can do as they like and never get caught. Also the snp were told before went ahead with this that they would have to pay vat now the police budget is cut because of this stupidly.
The SNP turned previously Regional, locally in-touch, police forces into their personal, nationalised gendarmerie. The SNP's controlling instincts are always to centralise power.

We need local police who know the area and can build relationships with families to help stop anti social behaviour before it becomes out of hand.
This was the worst thing that happened no local police office when you try to contact through the call centre you are told you are in a queue i have been told you are 36 in queue if that’s what snp call service

Centralisation is another dumb SNP idea which has made Scottish quality of life WORSE
It is a real duplication when Scotland is talking about matters that are just spread over the whole of the UK. Also again Scotland is complaining about a situation far better than in England. I see one article from STV boasting about the fact that there are 31 officers per 10,000 as opposed to 24 in England and Wales. So when it suits it is a local penance but exactly the same situation when it suits is an achievement. The established view is that in every facet of society human employment is regarded as totally inefficient so services will inevitably deteriorate. Who is going to buy the goods produced entirely by automatons controlled by AI office administrators or even dare go outside with the remote inaccessible centralised automated police stations has not really been though out.

Getting rid of Scotland's regional police forces and creating one centralised force has its good points and a lot of bad points l think they got this one wrong the old system was better
I had a debate with a cop about bobbys on the beat and he said well we can get to incidents quicker in a car, weil yeah so that's not a visible deterrent to prevent crime on the first place, which is the whole point of bobbies on the beat. All they are doing is responding to crime once it's happened. A visible presence always works much better. I've seen a guy jimmying a car open on a Saturday night, cops drove right past it.
