    As a 40 yr old, this is extremely upsetting to hear a daughter would do this to their parent. The blatant disrespect & entitlement. Ugh. Pathetic. Lost my Mom to Alzheimer’s & vascular dementia a few years ago at age 70. What I wouldn’t give to have her back in my life. This sweet lady doesn’t deserve this. A child’s duty to their parents is to ensure their parents have anything and everything they need emotionally & materially. To bring joy to their lives. Not stress. Glad she has you in her life.

    new viewer here. What that girl did to her mother is atrocious. I moved to BHC from Cali last year to assist my aging mother. I could not imagine taking advantage of another human let alone a senior. My mom happens to live in the same park as Valerie's new home. I knew that entrance looked familiar when I watched the home tour video. Congratulations Valerie. The past is behind. you now. Thank God for Chris.

    Valerie is a very smart woman. I’m glad she did what she had to do. It’s a shame her daughter is the way she is. Sometimes when you try to help your adult children it backfires and pushes them farther away. That’s okay. At the end of the day it’s the adults children’s loss. It’s sad that they use the grandchildren as pawns too. I hope one day Valerie’s daughter will stop taking her mom for granted and start spending genuine quality time with her. Life is short and her mom is not always going to be on this earth for her. Sounds like her daughter has some narcissistic tendencies. The daughter needs to own her own problems not blame her mom. Then and only then can their relationship be mended. I wish them all the best❤️❤️

    Hey Val and Chris. Chris, I'm glad you are back. I was worried. Val, sorry about your problems with your daughter. I always thought it was strange that you moved out instead of kicking your daughter out. I'm sure cutting the cord was a hard thing to do. But I think you did the right thing.
    Val, you also confirmed what I suspected Las Vegas has become. I used to stay at a motel at Harmon E and Paradise. It was a little rough but it was a gated community so it wasn't too bad. The motel is gone now and I was looking at some Airbnb in the area but I'm not sure if I should try it in that area. Has the area gotten worse? I come down for the WSOP. I was down for the WSOP in 2022 and I noticed a lot more homeless on the strip and the CVS at Harmon and Paradise has a police camera in the parking lot now. I stayed at the Silver Sevens which was a 5 min trip to the strip. I usually stay for about a month. I was thinking about spending two weeks at the Strat and another two weeks at Silver Sevens. Do you think I should avoid Airbnb and stay at the Silver Seven or just avoid the area altogether?

    • @OLDMANCOFFEE
      @OLDMANCOFFEE  4 місяці тому +1

      I would suggest you avoid the areas that you talk about....look for an Airbnb some where in Henderson anything south of Windmill and it's only a short drive to the Horseshoe Casino for the WSOP.

    • @johnniki8521
      @johnniki8521 4 місяці тому

      @Oldmancoffee Unfortunately I won't have a car, (flying in from Canada). Petty much dependent on LYFT and transit. That's why I stay at Silver Sevens and the STRAT. I take the DEUCE and the Flamingo bus. They pick me up and drop me off in front of the hotel. I know not to wander around the STRAT and Silver Seven at night. If it is late at night I take a LYFT home. South of Windmill the rental cost is the same as a hotel and the transit sucks. I'll keep looking, but right now I think my best option is the STRAT and Silver Seven. Sad I won't be seeing you at the Westgate though. Remember when we were trying to get the masseur to give Christina a massage lol.

    Big fan OMC. Why do you attribute not being able to turn a profit at the 1/2 NL poker tables in Vegas. You most always showed a win with the comps earned. Looking forward to the next journey.

    • @OLDMANCOFFEE
      @OLDMANCOFFEE  4 місяці тому +1

      Well Kelly, it's really not about turning a profit at 1/2 NLH poker, it's more about not having the sufficient Bank Roll to handle the down swings and still be able to pay my bills...you really need two BR's ...Life and Poker...the poker BR was getting harder to keep. ..good question...👍👍😁😁

    Just to inform seniors here, I once bought a condo in a 55+ community that u can buy from $100k to $250k and it is fantastic. The monthly HOA, utilities, taxes,insurance is about $750 to 1200 depend on the size. The facilities are world class, 16 swimming pools, golf,free transport, movie theaters , live security etc. It is called Centuryvillage deerfield beach florida. 3 miles from beach and gated community. I loved traveling and I am doing my slow travel.

    Wow - very interesting video. My wife and I have three kids just a bit younger than your daughter. Although we still help them mostly in emotional matters, we did help when money was needed when they were younger. Our son is a computer programmer/expert, so money was never an issue with him. One daughter hated to accept financial help, and our youngest has needed it on occasion. We certainly are willing to help our kids when they need it, but what your daughter did is almost like from a different planet. My wife and I would never consider not paying all our debts, and our kids seem to have learned some valuable lessons from us. It is difficult to imagine having a child who would do this regarding money. I hope someday your relationship with your daughter can be repaired, but my guess is that things might not get much better with all this. I hope the pain fades with the years. Best of luck to you. 😀

    There R so many great areas in the USA.
    Get in the RV and travel and find the treasures of this fabulous country, then settle down. Most towns don't have a tent city.

    Has anybody stopped to think that this story may have a little more texture to it than Valerie is presenting? Her daughter is being presented like she’s some kind of devil. Perhaps she is legitimate problems perhaps mental health problems or otherwise. Valerie was blessed to have parents who left her in her inheritance perhaps Being supporting of a granddaughter, who is struggling in life, does not mean that she is being taken advantage of. I just want everybody to realize that there is always more to the story. Valerie is presenting grown children with problems like they are a scourge that needs to be handled. We all love old man, coffee and Valerie but do we really know the inside story of how Valerie relates to her granddaughter, who is clearly struggling and has problems? Life is always gray not black-and-white and it cannot be as simple as Valerie is good her daughter is bad. End of story.

      She has tried to contact as what she said in the video, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make emm drink it.

      She’s not a horse. She is a troubled human being, and nobody chooses that for themselves. That’s what I mean when I say there is a lot of backstory here that you and I will never understand, possibly, nor will Chris ever understand.

      And honestly, I love Chris and his story, and I am not saying that to patronize Chris, but rather to point out that Valerie is presenting to Chris and to the rest of us, a story possibly tinged with denial

      I totally understand the horse analogy, but if Valerie‘s daughter is that horse, that will not drink my question is, how did that happen and what’s the story there? Nobody chooses to be in their 30s, estranged from their mother, and have their granddaughter estranged from their grandmother, And have inadequate financial resources, and have a recent separation from their own husband. We cannot just talk about this in terms of how much much money Valerie‘s daughter was willing to pay her. That is way too cold and uncompassionate for me.
