-- At 0:32 the speaker claims CRT seeks to analyze every aspect of American life through the prism of race and divides families, communities and citizens. I would love to know the names of the critical race theorists she is referring to. It sounds like she might be building a strawman.
26:01 Bauchman claims CRT is a worldview with the following presuppositions: Racism is normal, racism is unavoidable, everything is racist, white people are incapable of righteous actions on race unless their interests converge with minorities, CRT is anti-liberalism, there is no absolute truth, knowledge is socially constructed and knowledge comes through narratives.
It appears that some prominent critical race theorists hold that that racism is a normal feature of society and is embedded within systems and institutions, like the legal system, that replicate racial inequality. This dismisses the idea that racist incidents are aberrations but instead are manifestations of structural and systemic racism. However, it appears this is a conclusion, not an assumption.

I'm a Christian as well. I had never heard of Critical Race Theory until I ran across a video of a parent hurling serious, ugly and unfounded accusations against a school district in New York.
My first question was: What in the heck is Critical Race Theory?
I learned that the term was coined by legal scholar Kimberlé Crenshaw. So, I figured that a good place to start learning about what CRT is might be learn what she meant when she coined the term.

I’ve heard that financial institutions train money handlers to recognize counterfeit cash by having them focus on studying the real dollar bills only and not by exposing them to the various counterfeit bills. This way when anything whatsoever is off about the physical bill the person’s eye is so attuned to the accurate that they instantly note the false. This ought to be the Christian’s approach to scripture. Focus, focus, focus

It's so ridiculous. So lets say we did redistribute all the "wealth" and everyone starts with the same amount😏 5 or 10 years later some% will have advanced. Some will have went broke and homeless, and some would be struggling. It's personal responsibility, good work ethics, skills, drive, temperament, and ability all gauge ones progress.
So what would you do just re-redistribute wealth, then later re-re-redistribute wealth?
It's a complete and utter falsehood to say this would do anything but bring a nation to it's knees! "Mass famine", those aren't words we want to truly understand!!!

Been following Voddie for a few years now. Great to see him roll his sleeves up the way he has and step forward in order to take on this credible threat that CRT, as well as Marxism imposes on people in general of ALL colors and of ALL backgrounds, but most importantly on the Gospel, the Living Word of God! I have to confess I didn't read Fault Lines, I downloaded and listened to the audio book. Because grade school teachers don't know what Critical Race Theory (CRT) is, how can they teach it? The subject requires a sophisticated analysis of how the law affects race from many vantage points ie., voting rights & suppression, policing, incarceration, education, school finance, housing and healthcare access, etc. Reforming structures undermining racial equity is the goal. It doesn't target White school children, or Asians, nor personalities like "Bull" Connor, Donald Trump and David Duke, for example. So, why has CRT become an issue? Donald Trump and his acolytes are perpetrating a cynical, race-based disinformation campaign targeting Native Black Americans (NBAs) via Critical Race Theory, Voter Suppression, The 1619 Project and Black Lives Matter, to divert attention from his vast legal troubles, to fortify his base regardless, to gain power they could not otherwise with integrity obtain considering decreasing GOP demographics, to undermine American democracy by challenging election results absent evidence and, many believe, to instigate civil and race wars. The depth of this treachery is horrific and many support it with cult-like devotion. But lies and sociopaths are not remedies. Last, be mindful that NBAs efforts at collective self-determination are always challenged with mendacity, psychological warfare and/or physical violence. And here we are. My only concerns are that I wish there were more Christians who can disagree with Marxism, Communism and CRT w/o invalidating the experiences of many Americans who are enduring racial issues and oppression. Just because an individual has not experienced blatant or covert racism doesn’t mean it is not occurring in pockets of the US. For instance I have not experienced sexual assault and there are many laws against sexual assault but that doesn’t mean there are people who are not being raped and molested daily in this country.
I agree we are one melting pot of a country and therefore we have to discuss race and class more than other countries & at times are obsessed with race but I don’t see it being unbiblical to have these conversations. We can discuss the case of the oppressed, widows and orphans without being Marxist or Ignorant of our fellow neighbors plight. Good discussion overall

Yes, that's the purpose: To cause society to tear itself apart, because they want a Revolution and an entirely different society. In pre-Soviet Russia, it was the Bourgeoisie vs the Proletariat; but in the US, they're using race to cause hate and division: White vs Black.
Idk where people like me are supposed to fit in, because I'm neither White nor Black. . . But you're right it's INTENDED to cause hate and division, NOT unity.

Capitalism is not evil. The free enterprise system has helped more people out of poverty and provide opportunities to American citizens, than any competing ideology.

I think we would inherently and necessarily see less of the public speaking up. We are not called to go out to the public and speak badly about the church. We are taught to go to our brothers with what we have against them. We are taught other things about what to do with people having a bad influence on the church none of which really fits well with modern "public" calling out, or at least seems not too. But for one example, I've always kept my facebook primarily as a link to Christians and not for worldly acquaintances so I speak very openly to my brothers and sisters there to call out the racism of it as evil, to call out the lack of interest in truth and facts that becomes evident sometimes, to call out the bad judgement calls where we should be able to "judge them by their fruits" for a variety of groups, influencers, etc.
That idea of calling out publicly to make an inappropriate uproar that gets others outside of the church involved in the uproar is a sin that I have seen some who are buying into critical theory making. There have been some false accusations of racism made against large and unweildy groupings, using the false logic of "implicit racism" and similar fallacies, most of which have been all wrapped up with a form of the fallacy known as petitio principii. They have been divisive and harmful to the cause of Christ, but unfortunately are coming out of young people who think they are following Christ and are claiming to be followres of Christ but are actually making themselves forces for what Satan wants.

Dr. Baucham would do well to spread the truth, not be a vehicle for those who, sadly, have triumphantly foresaken it. With due respect.

This interview is good reason to believe that warm-heartedness and color-blindness are a healthy base for constructive, meaningful human connections. Regardless of religious belief, anybody who has read the Bible knows that slavery (which was ubiquitous and unrelated to Race) is a moral issue that's already mentioned in Leviticus--not something invented (relatively) recently by German schools. The Biblical concept that any slave should be set free after 50 years of servitude, is called "Fifty," the year of Jubilee.
Much of the Qur'an is made up of "borrowed and creatively revised" Judeo-Christian content, initially, Muhammad meant to end the routine slavery among constantly warring Arab tribes. Using the Hebrew term, an "uMAH," (accent on the last syllable), with a minor shift of accent, he wanted to turn the whole world into an "UMah," one, perfect, global, Muslim nation under one tent. When his priorities and practices changed (after he immigrated to Medina and slaughtered some Jews, no longer a priority, slavery persisted, flourished and still happens in Submission-majority countries today. Sadly, it's slavery of women and children, AKA Trafficking, which is bigger in scale and knows no bounds.
understandingimprovingtwistingshallow and tragic, when Aryan-Semitic Race Theory (ASRT) was adopted by the National Socialist (NAZI) party. The second, opposite side of the manipulative Race coin, "Critical" Race Theory (CRT) needs to be pushed back, because it's not going to "Just blow over," as too many German Jews chose to believe in the 1930's. Today's the CRT bizarre conflation with Muslim "political-religious oppression ideology" complicates matters.

There is a line in the sand regarding the gospel and unlike everything else in life, this line cannot be crossed or it has eternal implications. Roman Catholics are trying to return all men and women back under the submission of the Pope. They are using multiple vehicles such as the Jesuits, moralism, opposition to abortion and wrapping it in a bow called Co belligerence. Co belligerence is when two enemies put down their arms in order to join together and fight a more common enemy.

I once read an interview where a black kid said he wanted to become an airplane pilot, but "They won't let a black become a pilot." What a bunch of nonsense! As a Marine I flew with black pilots fifty years ago. Before my time we had the Tuskegee Airmen. Where do these ideas come from? Maybe partly from CRT.

-- Hi Michael. May I ask what idea you have in mind when you use the term "critical race theory?" I use the term to signify the idea of a critical examination of a legal system as it intersects with issues of race. I suspect you mean something different when you use the term. Thanks.

@@charliewatts6007 It appears that CRT is ill-defined, but what I meant was that not everything is determined by race and that its assertions don't operate to deny opportunities to minorities. At 74 I've seen when it was like that, but not now.
Does it operate in reverse to Asians? Maybe this will help If you feel like watching it-- ua-cam.com/video/i60eQZPG5XM/v-deo.html. Or for something really interesting, you could see this one: ua-cam.com/video/7RICtJFk5a4/v-deo.html. You might also try Thomas Sowell, Voddie Baucham, and Walter Williams. I've had setbacks and failures myself, but I can't blame it on race.
Many black people do fine, such as our next-door neighbor, and if it applies maybe you're doing well too. I hope so.

Did you ever wonder what the Tuskegee Airmen had to go through to become a pilot? Did you ask those black pilots what they experienced as black pilots? Why don't you do a little research and then maybe you will understand. Because it's evident that you don't.

I have no idea what that means.

In all of Voddie’s talk, he neverlays out the view of Jesus’s Apostles of how exactly they practiced the Kingdom of God’s economics in this world? Also, how does Jesus' teaching compare with
that of this world, like Capitalism, Marxism and CRT. I acknowledge CRT is not
the Gospel, nor, by the way, is Marx, Adam Smith or Milton Freidman. All of
this world’s political and economic views fail the Biblical test. Every single
one of them! So, I agree with Voddie’s concerns over CRT, but I’m as equally
concerned over his lack of pointing out that capitalism is just as concerning
as Marxism. For the Christian, it isn’t an either-or situation. It is none of
the above. We season all of the economic and political systems of this world
with Christ’s teachings no matter what they are.

-- I read Voddie Baucham's book titled "Fault Lines." It was a great disappointment. Do you know what a straw man fallacy is?
      ua-cam.com/video/hfil34ayaEU/v-deo.html
In his book, Voddie sits up a straw man, by misrepresenting the critical race theory movement, and then tears it down. I don't know if he just doesn't know much about the movement, or whether he does know but can't refute the actual tenets of the CRT movement, so he dishonestly resorts to a straw man argument.
The closest thing I see to a definition of critical race theory in Baucham's book is his claim that "CRT is a worldview with central tenets that fly in the face of the idea of the sufficiency of Scripture."
      churchleaders.com/pastors/pastor-articles/394150-voddie-baucham-critical-race-theory.html
One of the key tenets of CRT is recognition "that race is not biologically real but is socially constructed and socially significant. It recognizes that science (as demonstrated in the Human Genome Project) refutes the idea of biological racial differences. According to scholars Richard Delgado and Jean Stefancic, race is the product of social thought and is not connected to biological reality."
      www.americanbar.org/groups/crsj/publications/human_rights_magazine_home/civil-rights-reimagining-policing/a-lesson-on-critical-race-theory/
My question for you is: Does recognition that race is not biologically real but is socially constructed, fly in the face of the idea of the sufficiency of Scripture?
      Thanks.
