Thank you for sharing this very practical advice and examples. I’m always excited to begin my school year, and it’s so fun when my students love answering questions and tests. That’s the difference with this method of teaching vs standard methods we may have experienced growing up. It allows that freedom and thrill to share what you know and what was important to the student.
This is the video that motivated me to switch our curriculum! I started homeschooling kindergarten this year (I know… no formal lessons until 6, whoops). I was enjoying our time together and chose some fun curriculum. The CMEC has that member wall so you don’t really know what you are getting (except thanks to your curriculum videos). Anyways, after seeing your daughters exams, I realized that my son was being spoon fed too much with his curriculum and didn’t have such great results, which seem to be from great books, narrations, and free painting (not coloring pages). I’ve loved what I knew about Charlotte Mason, so after seeing this video, we joined the CMEC! I’ve been collecting books in the mail and pre-reading and I’m looking forward to next year ☺️
My son is only two but I will be joining the CMEC next enrollment for all of the Mother's education courses. Your channel has really helped to make a Charlotte Mason education less overwhelming. My son will have to take SOLs starting at age 6 and that just feels like it would be intimidating to a child. I hope to start playing "exams" with him before that to make exams exciting. I was encouraged to hear that your daughter looks forward to exams in your homeschool.
Love your videos! If you haven’t already, would you consider making a video talking about how you go over foreign language in a Charlotte Mason way? Thank you so much for your videos, they are so helpful!
Hi Larissa, I have loved your videos! Would you be able to share the logistics of an “exam week”? Does this mean you take the whole week off and ask her a questions or two a day? Or do you take one full day for all her questions and then take the rest of the week off? Thanks so much!
How much does the CMEC cost for a membership? I have seen several of your videos where you talk about it, but I'm not sure if it's worth the membership cost.
We just did our first exam with our 1b (Ambleside online) chatting over coffee, and it was amazing how much she had to tell me about stories we hadn't talked about in months!

I was on the fence about the CMEC and this really won me over! Thank you :)
I’m a new sub and I LOVE your videos! Thank you for taking the time to make these videos! ❤

It's $300 per year for the whole family, no matter how many children you have.

Does CMEC provide the exam questions?
They do provide some sample Exam Questions for each term according to their programs.
