I was going to buy one but I just couldn't find one that wasn't too accessorised. I'm so happy I found your tutorial! Now I know I can make my own veil. Thanx!
Your tutorial is the best one I've found - great detail about the stitching and how to start by going through the solid squares before looping through the diamond shape. Thank you!!
I am going to have a go at my first birdcage veil today, I have been designing and making fascinators but i want to learn new bits :) . This is a great tutorial Thank You
thanx for this tutorial its by far the best 1 i have seen. i have been asked to make 1 of these for some1s wedding as i do make bows n flowers but wasnt sure about this veil but now i feel confident enought to give it a go. thank u x
I watched your tutorial a while ago. Ordered the material on Etsy. The last item arrived today and I started making my birdcage veil straight away. In no time it was finished. I also added some feathers for a more dramatic look. Super easy, great result!
Awesome video, I'm getting married the third week in February & I love birdcage veils! They're just over priced, thanks for this great and easy tutorial I can make my own!!!! AWESOME :) excellent detail.
great tutorial, I'm totally pumped to make my own veil. Really didn't want to pay over $300.00 for a Sara Gabriel birdcage veil. This will look great with a little decor sewn on top of the comb.
Great tutorial. I made my wedding veil in 15 minutes after watching this. I used tulle for the whole veil instead of the netting and it came out perfect.
Thank you so much for sharing! I have to be honest before you stood up I thought you were wearing a wedding dress :P I think I'm going to make my own veil too, thanks to you! :D
This video was great! I made my own veil no problem and I'm honestly impressed with how mine turned out. Thanks for the amazing and easy to follow instructions
"Measure yo' head" LOL I know this video is like 3 years old, but it's so helpful!! This is probably the easiest, and most helpful, video I've found in the internet on how to make these type of veils. Thank you! Off to Etsy I go! :)
Wonderful tutorial! Thank you!!!! Having a Notebook themed (vintage) wedding and am doing a lot myself. This will be very useful! Thank you for this...
I will be getting married on Friday and I will be making my own birdcage veil. This was a very helpful video, so thank you. You make it look so easy!!:)
Thank you for this video! I'm making one of these for my niece for her upcoming wedding! You made it SUPER easy to understand! I can't wait to get started!! :)
Hobby Lobby sells satin headbands. You could sew the netting to the headband once you've made it instead of sewing it to the comb like in the tutorial. If you aren't good with a needle and thread you could always hot glue it to the under side of the headband.
OMG! I loved your tutorial. I love fascinators and always wanted to learn how to make one. You made it seem so effortless. I can't wait to make my first one thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart thank you so much
Oh great! Thank you sooo much! You are awesome! I just produced the prettiest birdcage veil I have ever seen in my entire life! I added one small material rose on top (actually Iattached it to the comb) - it looks great:D So elegant, You saved me! thank you soooooo MUCH!
As for your question about the false lashes, attach the comb at the desired spot on your head, take two (or more if you need them) bobby pins and use them to secure the veil behind your temples. (I do this even if the bride isn’t wearing fake lashes because it holds the veil down in a more appealing way but it also allows you to control how close the veil is to your face/lashes.) I would recommend doing a trial run with your lashes and veil before the big day. I hope that helps, thank you!!!
I am 1:13 in and have to pause to tell you how adorable you are. And I already love this video and know that I won't need to look any further for help! (1st video I hit in my search too!) XOXOXO THANK YOU!!!!
Great tutorial! Although, I wish you had shown the whip stitch in greater detail. That is where I got lost. I will just have to research whip stitch now! Thanks for the great tutorial!
Im making one for my daughter, and since her bridesmaids are wearing black dresses, I will be adding a small black bow on hers. I think it is cool to tie in a little color to make it a little more interesting. :-)
Thank you very much for your tutorial, I am in the process of making a birdcage veil for my daughters wedding, and your instructions we easy to follow, although I am attaching her veil on an alligator clip, as she wants veil and fascinator separate. Hope it works.
Yes, you can apply crystals or very small pearls to this veil. I usually use tiny swarovski crystals and gem tack glue or Aleene's tacky glue to attach them. TIP: dip a toothpick in hot wax., let it cool and then use it to pick up the tiny pearls or gems. They are so hard to pick up with your fingers!
I was going to buy one but I just couldn't find one that wasn't too accessorised. I'm so happy I found your tutorial! Now I know I can make my own veil. Thanx!
I think you just saved me a lot of money! I was about to buy something on Ebay or Etsy until I found your tutorial.
