Titan, or for Andreas; i follow some manual machinists; and they scrape the ways of their machines when rebuilding. I suppose modern machines do not need scraping in; what do we do now that replaces scraping? What is different these days? Could an old machine be rebuild to function like the new ones and do away with scraping?

i am a bit of an AI expert, having spent the past 10+ years with neutral networks, machine learning and other approaches. There is nothing AI in this implementation what so ever, just hype and hot air. Nice system thought.
Exactly. If your system isn't using some kind of 'Neural-Net-Like' / 'self-adjusting' mechanism at all - let alone as a fundamental part of its value-add - it's not "AI". People need to stop overusing that word. That scanner scans the part, identifies its geometry, and probably matches that (within an error margin) to a pre-defined set of general patterns about the category of tool. That AWESOME and USEFUL, but not any more "AI" than a web server or engine computer.

So impressive!! Many thanks to Andreas Haimer and Titansofcnc!❤
Is this AI or is it just fancy computer vision and an algorithm?
It depends, how the system recognize the different tool silhouettes.
i hope the latter, because "AI" really just guesses shit xD
