    Hey Chris! Wished I lived a bit closer to you. Would love to get 2 cords of what you just split. That is character wood. Lots of knots and cut to the perfect size (a bit bigger than your oak). Good video Chris, like it when you describe the types of wood. Just watching I can see a big difference in the structure of the pieces. My splitter is slower than yours,with my friend helping keep up the rounds,we can do a cord an hour as well,by my self no way. Cheers from HB NZ

    nice job. i hate splitting "fuglies", you can never get them to stack well. but hey, it all burns. I need to sharpen up the wedge on my craftsman box store machine. its not fast but it gets the work done. just about the right speed for my 72 year old bones.

    • @InTheWoodyard
      @InTheWoodyard  2 місяці тому

      I use the 4 way a lot but most of this wood is nasty knotty crap and the single wedge can make a turd piece of wood into a diamond.

    Do you think there is a lot of advantage to having a Eastonmade 12-22 with the adjustable knives vs the ultra with a stationary knife?? I need to upgrade from my box store splitter soon so I need help deciding.

    • @InTheWoodyard
      @InTheWoodyard  2 місяці тому +1

      It depends...for me resplits and breaking down big uglies are the main use for me and I do also have a 4 way wedge. If I have 2 people run it not many splitters can produce as much firewood as fast as we can.
