Back in the day we did treasure our woman. She was the only one and she was the one who you sang to especially when a song came on the radio that showed how you felt about her. And songs back then didn't have profanity and disrespectful lyrics or talked bad about woman. Music lead to marriage and family and a long happy life together.

I completely agree with you Fred. We treated her like the Queen she really is and our hearts desire in every way. This music led to marriage, children, and a life together forever in love. Any problem can be fixed if the man leads by communicating how much that woman means to him, that he is lost without her, and that he needs her more than anything.

@@DrewsClues Oh, please do find the Everly Brothers, who preceded the Righteous Brothers by several years. In fact, the Everly Brothers would be considered as some of the pioneers of rock 'n roll, and no one has ever surpassed them when it comes to beautiful close and precise harmonies. They influenced everyone who followed them, including the Beatles. I probably enjoy the Righteous Brothers just a bit more because they put more depth of emotion into their music, but the Everly Brothers aren't getting very many reactions, and that's a shame because they shouldn't be missed. Wonderful reaction to a superb song. I got to see them in concert in the late 90's (San Antonio) They didn't show their age. They sounded as fabulousas whe5n I first heard them on the radio in 1964-

Great reaction to the blue-eyed soul that is The Righteous Brothers. The words you hear in this song ARE genuine as you say. This song and these words are from a bygone era when women were treated with respect and honor. Sadly, these words or anything like them are rare and difficult to find today. How far we have fallen.

Wonderful reaction! If only the songs were sung like this today and also the respect given to ladies that we had back then...

I was just 14 when I heard this song. I have never forgotten slow dancing with my boyfriend to their songs. Yes, I felt protected, loved and cherished. It was dreamy. A different era. I was fortunate to have grown up then. I'm 72 now, and I still feel the same lovely feelings that I had then. I love your comments. Perfect.

My friend was absolutely right when she said, “ Bill Medley’s hauntingly deep, rich baritone voice shakes me to my very soul, and Bobby Hatfield’s sweet, smooth tenor voice sends chills through my spine. Their harmony is unmatched.”

Back in my Saturday nights at the SockHop period, the very last song played was always a Righteous Brother's song....Every girl in the place, and I mean every girl, all ran around grabbing guys to slow-dance with them....I always obliged....For the thousandth time, thank you, Bill and Bobby....................................By the way, they got the name Righteous Brothers from a concert at which, after hearing a couple of their so soulful songs, some guy yelled out "You're Righteous Brothers!".....Also, Cher (don't think the video is clear enough to spot her) was one of those back-up singers in "You've lost that lovin' feeling".

I wanted to know who wrote some of their songs. ""(You're My) Soul and Inspiration" is a song by American pop duo the Righteous Brothers. It was the group's first hit after leaving their long-time producer Phil Spector. The song was written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, who also wrote the group's first hit "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" along with Phil Spector. It is the title track of their album"

Unchained Melody by the incomparable Bobby Hatfield was and is the most beautiful song in history as far as I'm concerned. We lost Bobby way too soon and he'll never be replaced.

Your so right! What woman wouldn’t want to be told this & instantly be back with them. Men back then did know how to treat a woman they loved. They cherished them, respected them. I know, I’m now a 68 woman. Not like now a days. I’ve watched reviews of the Righteous Brothers done by men (more boy than anything) most don’t respect them as true artists & laugh at them for feeling that way. Guess that’s why their in so many failed relationships. Take note of the hair also. No shaved heads, no slicked back, greasy (never want to run your fingers thru that) hair. And it’s still as sexy today as it was back then.
